Suite Caroline” is a 2nd floor cozy condo that's just steps from our sandy shores, a short walk to downtown CB, and all the sea sights, sounds, and experiences you are looking for!

Pleasure Island (Carolina Beach, Kure Beach, and Fort Fisher) has become a RAPIDLY increasing vacation (and full-time!) destination for the East coast and beyond for many reasons. It’s a family-oriented beach with a touch of everything one might be looking for! It’s an AMAZING place to visit, live, and never leave!

The suite is in the heart of Carolina Beach and walking distance to downtown and everything that is has to offer. In Carolina Beach you’ve got the boardwalk, restaurants, and local shops of all kinds. If you like adventures, the marina is also there where you can take an offshore fishing trip, diving excursion, or party boat out for a sunset sail. Camping more your thing Bring the 4X4 and drive (and camp) on the beach at Freeman Park, located on the North End of the island.

You can also head down to Kure Beach and fish directly off their fishing pier complete with bait, tackles, and more! The Carolina Beach Lake is nearby, hosting a weekly Farmer’s Market every Saturday and FIREWORKS every Thursday. We welcome you to sit back, relax and enjoy yourselves because that's exactly what the beach is for!

The suite is a mixture of the original “period” construction and old-world charm, a kiss of shabby-chic modernity, and today’s technology because hey, there’s got to be something for everyone! Each suite has its own distinct traits, quirks, and characteristics. Above all else, it should feel like your “home away from home” while vacationing with us on our Island!

The entry to this 2 bedroom/2 bath suite opens up into a large, newly furnished family room combined with an open dining area and kitchen. 1 courtesy soap, shampoo and conditioner are left in the bathroom of each home as well as 2 rolls of TP per bath, 1 makeup wipe and one backup toothbrush. 1 roll of paper towel, a sponge, dish soap, 2 trash bags per receptacle and (*as applicable) 3 dishwasher and laundry pods will be available to use if needed!

There's ONE QUEEN bed, ONE TWIN + TWIN bunk, and ONE QUEEN pullout on site because we want all of our guests to be comfortable when it comes time to recharge. 1 set of the following will be made on a per bed/per person basis to help you be comfortable on your adventure! Bed sheets (fitted/flat set), bath towels, wash cloths, cleaning rags, pillowcases, bathmats and kitchen towels. Laundering or extra sets are not an available service regrettably. Please make sure all used linens are placed in one location in the home at departure. Please let all BED LINENS remain on the beds for our TEAM to take care of! There are multiple Smart WIFI TV's along with a WIFI computer connection for when it's time to sit back and enjoy some movies or shows after a long day at the beach!

Guest access

The SUITE: Guests have full access to their own private SUITE (never shared) along with a respective deck, patio, or balcony. Each suite can vary slightly in archetype but what’s private for each guest or is a common area for all to share IS easily recognizable.

The POOL: The pool and its amenities are privately shared by Driftwood residents and guests.

PARKING: Each reservation will have access to (1) ONE un-assigned parking space (use your parking pass to avoid a TOW). *A $100 replacement fee will be assessed by the HOA if the pass isn't left in your suite at departure.

•Closest BEACH access: Hamlet Public Beach Access (Hamlet Ave).

I will be available for check-in and general assistance until 8PM EST. Anything with the exception of an emergency (ie. flood, fire, or another *safety* related risk sent to Maintenance) will be responded to ASAP the following day :)

Neighborhood description

Pleasure Island is a coastal barrier island in Southeastern North Carolina, USA just south of the City of Wilmington. Pleasure Island is located within Federal Point Township, in New Hanover County. The coastal resort towns of Carolina Beach and Kure Beach, as well as the annexed communities of Wilmington Beach and Hanby Beach are located on the island.

The building itself is three blocks from the nearest beach access. The property is on the fringe of down town Carolina Beach with its shops, activities and dining and is equidistant to the smaller, but just as charming Down Town Kure Beach. There are fireworks during the summer every Thursday night, Movies at the lake each Sunday night, and local fairs around the lake each Saturday morning. Carolina Beach is a mix of friendly locals, snowbirds, and vacationers all looking to escape the inland and enjoy the sand, surf, and atmosphere. We truly have an amazing community!

Carolina Beach and the surrounding neighborhoods offer an array of sights and activities to enjoy while here. Some of these examples are (but not limited to) a subtle beach hike through Carolina Beach State Park, Fishing on the Kure Beach Pier, kayaking to one of the many islands surrounding the Intracoastal Waterway, watching canons blast during a historical reenactment at the Fort Fisher State Historic Site, or petting some Sting Rays at the North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher. This doesn’t even include the aweing scenery of Airlie Gardens, and our very own battleship (USS NC) in Wilmington! Perhaps more relaxing and less “adventure” is your speed Our own local Brewery (Good Hops) along with a round of Frisbee golf may be what the doctor ordered!

Getting around

There isn’t anywhere or anything on our Island that isn’t accessible with foot power. Downtown Carolina Beach has a number of vendors (such as Pleasure Island Rentals @ 2 N Lake Park Blvd Carolina Beach NC 28428 (golf carts) and Tony Silvagni’s Surf School @ 107 Charlotte ave Carolina Beach NC 28428 (bicycles, paddleboards, surfboards, kayaks) for rent as an alternative to walking or driving. Taxi’s (local golf cart taxi’s) and Uber’s are also generally available for an assist when needed as well throughout the island! You can catch a Ferry to Southport in Kure Beach @ 2422 Fort Fisher Blvd S Kure Beach which leads to another ferry to Bald Head Island where NO CARS are allowed at all!

After all, you won’t catch many locals going OTB! (Over The Bridge). Everything you need is right here!

•The Town of Carolina Beach offers multiple public parking options to visitors and residents on a FIRST COME-FIRST SERVE basis. Town-operated parking is open year round and paid parking is enforced March 1st - October 31st from 9AM - 8PM. Parking fees restart each morning during enforcement hours for all of the Town's parking lots and on-street parking spaces.

GOLF CARTS

•To the county, golf carts are considered automobiles. Generally speaking, golf carts are NOT allowed on premises of ANY condo, condotel, or apartment. The same goes for trailers, motorcycles, etc. For SFR’s or properties supporting multiple vehicles, carts should be OK. However, be conscious that few homes have external outlets WITHOUT GFCI’S (which are code by today’s standards). Charging a cart on a GFCI will immediately trip the breaker, resulting in the inability to charge a cart amongst other repercussions. Gas carts will generally be the ideal rental option if in a home whose parking supports such.

•ALL suites are non-smoking (including vaping) and a heavy cleaning/repair charge can result if not adhered to. This includes porches, decks, balconies, and walkways. Please smoke well away from any SWRE property unless willing to risk the potential loss of deposit or more.

• SWRE contractual quiet hours begin at 9:00pm EST. Town ordinance may allow more latitude with regards to noise (11:00pm) but our expectations are to help ensure all guests, locals, and neighbors alike have an enjoyable experience.

•NO BBQing on ANY decks or porches. This is a huge fire hazard and is fineable by the town (as is removing batteries from any smoke or co2 alarms). We work extremely hard to keep all our guests safe, and sometimes that takes teamwork!

•Please always consider TRAVEL INSURANCE from your respective booking site or vendor to help protect your costs in case of inclement weather or last-minute travel complications (court, illness, etc.). These items are NOT refundable scenarios unless the property itself is compromised. If that does happen, we will do our absolute best to find you alternative housing.

    During our first night we noticed the ceiling was leaking near the water heater & wires in the closet. It must have been going on for quite some time as the wood was completely saturated, but we only noticed once the it started leaking into the hallway. We immediately called and agreed to have maintenance come over at 9 the next morning even though it was our daughter’s birthday. After the maintenance visit, we were assured Dale would be in contact and would offer a fair resolution for the inconvenience and that they would be in contact with us shortly to follow up on next steps to resolve the leak. I reached out to him several times that day for a follow up but did not hear back until the later afternoon. Around 5pm I followed up again to see what the status was. He said they were waiting on the owners upstairs which was understandable though not communicated, and around 6pm offered to prorate our stay. We live several hours away and leaving at 6pm was not possible with such short notice when he had all day to make the same offer & allow us time to make accommodations. The next day we noticed the leak (that had not been fixed) was continuing and went through the walls into the room our kids were staying in. The floor by the electrical outlet was soaked & brand new birthday presents were ruined. He said refunding was no longer an option since he offered for us to leave the night before. Would not recommend staying here or any listings through his company SaltWater Realestate

    the condo was fine. Pool was green and the outside of the pool area hasnt neen cleaned in some time. The balcony faces the strip which was good, enjoyed the view of all that was happening. The condo itself was fine no issues, it was really hot so there was a slight musty smell but when AC kicked in it wasnt noticeable. everything is in walking distance to the strip/ beach and carnival area. Overall was great,just the pool needs work. no fault of the Host.

    Property had great amenties including a pool with a 2 block walk to the beach. The only problem we encountered was the floors should have been mopped as part of the cleaning process and were not. Everything else was very clean and ready dy for us.

    The complex was easy to find, and had everything that we needed. It was quiet, yet so convenient that we could walk to nearly everything (beach, boardwalk, restaurants, shops). Everything we needed was already in the unit, and the host was incredibly friendly and communicative. Highly recommend!

    My husband, myself, and two young boys (11mo & 2) had a great stay! The unit had everything we needed for our week at the beach. The pack n play and highchair at the property were a huge plus so I didn't have to travel with them!! The location was absolutely perfect: the beach was super close, walking distance to the lake, park, coffee shops, and restaurants. We would definitely stay again!
