For the adventure-seekers, the island offers a host of activities like deep-sea fishing, snorkeling, and scuba diving in the vibrant coral reefs of the Atlantic.

With the mainland's convenience connected via the famous Seven Mile Bridge and the joys of island life, Coco Plum offers a serene escape with the spirit of the Keys at your doorstep.

Getting Around:

You have several convenient options for getting around and exploring the area:

By Car: The most flexible way to explore Marathon and the surrounding Keys is by car. The Overseas Highway, part of U.S. Route 1, connects the islands and is the main thoroughfare. Renting a car would be ideal for those looking to discover various attractions at their own pace.

Biking: For shorter distances, especially around the neighborhood and to nearby beaches like Coco Plum Beach, biking is a great option. The area is bike-friendly, with several paths and relatively flat terrain.

Public Transportation: Monroe County provides public bus services through the Lower Keys Shuttle, taking you from Marathon to other critical points in the Florida Keys.

Walking: For those who prefer to stay local, many of Marathon's attractions, restaurants, and shops can be accessed on foot, especially within the Coco Plum area.

Boating: If you're looking to explore the surrounding waters, marinas in the area offer boat rentals. A boat is a great way to experience the beautiful oceans, go fishing, or visit nearby reefs for snorkeling and diving.

Taxis and Rideshare: Taxis and rideshare services like Uber and Lyft operate in Marathon, providing an easy way to get around without a personal vehicle.

Shuttle Services: Some local businesses and attractions offer shuttle services for guests, which could be a convenient option depending on where you plan to go.

Remember that while the island is well-connected by the Overseas Highway, having your transportation will provide the most freedom to explore the natural beauty and attractions of the Florida Keys.

Everything about our stay was excellent. Meghan was easy to reach when needed, condo was lovely, pool/property was beautiful. Easy to get to, quiet location, lots to see and do nearby. Weather even cooperated for us. Would recommend!

There was only a 1/2 (if that) roll of toilet paper... they only allow 1 towel, washcloth, beach towel per person for 1 weeks stay; unclean & ridiculous!! We were on the boat from sunrise until about 10pm, there laundry is not open during those hours, they need to fix that policy!! The owner should now the condo is beautiful, we loved that. We tried to reach out to the contact thru VRBO & Email & phone 2 weeks prior to going, no luck... she never responded to 3 emails... the voicemail message was full could not leave a message.. We are Florida residents and every 2 years go to the keys and meet a large group of people, never have we ever had these issues.

The condo was nicely furnished and the location was great for exploring both the upper and lower keys. Couple of items kept me from giving 5 stars: 1. The shower did not drain...not super great to have water around your ankles during your shower 2. Signs everywhere in the condo warning you not to use more than one towel per guest...or else! were not very welcoming. 3. Supplying only a starter amount of paper products (including half a roll of toilet paper) seems unreasonable All the rules and expectations were clearly stated in the communications from the manager (who, by the way, was very responsive).

Great location, good price! Awesome pool! A lot of rules and only 1 towel allowed per person. Luckily, I read reviews before leaving and brought my own blanket, towels and beach towel. Also had to buy toilet paper. They only give 2 rolls for an entire week stay. Condo was decorated very nice. Bed was very comfortable.

The location of this property is great. The unit itself is extremely dated. There’s no overhead lighting except in the bathroom, kitchen, and hallway. Most of the electric outlets didn’t even work so we couldn’t use the lamps or charge all our devices at night. There was no tv in the bedroom, which we may have just overlooked making the reservation. We were provided with sheets and one fleece blanket. All bedding is sealed “due to Covid” and if you use the bedding you will be charged a laundry fee. Not sure what people who are flying in are supposed to do. There’s so many rules for the temperature and property in general… is was like going to school. Not on vacation. If the towels were not white, they had bleach stains all over them. Bath towels and hand towels. The bathtub remained at a very slow drain the entire week from day 1 and would fill up as soon as the water turned on. There’s no way housekeeping didn’t notice when they clean the tub. Every time we went to the office it was closed. Make sure you have coins to wash all the towels so you don’t get charged a fee for that either. (Not sure what the cleaning fee goes towards) We were told that the beach would be raked to keep the sea grass to a minimum. It was raked on the last day. We also only got to use the pool ONE day because it was so nasty due to “the person that cleans it is on vacation.” It is a holiday week. Completely unacceptable. You have someone else clean the pool for guests. I work in the vacation rental business and this was all completely unacceptable. We will be back to The Keys, but never to this property.

The condo we stayed in was dated and needed some repairs, but overall worked well for us. We saw the caretaker one day but other than that never saw anyone from the condo, again not a big problem for us but if you needed help with something it may have been a problem. the resort was quiet most of the week as well as the adjoining public beach. We really enjoyed just hanging out at the public beach most morning, rarely saw anyone. The only detractor was the sea grass that covers the waters edge and goes out into the ocean about 150 yards. All in all it was an excellent week.
