Homey, comfortable and a short drive from some beautiful scenery.

This apartment was well furnished and very clean. It was perfect for 2 people, including sitting area, fireplace and nice outdoor space to sit and relax. We found the hot tub clean but not too hot and jets were okay. The shower did give a nice high pressure massage and kitchen was furnished with all the necessities. We enjoyed the stay and sorry we didn’t find time to make use of the bicycles provided. It was close to all the Shawnee NF spots but did keep us out all day enjoying the great hiking and fall colors. The owners were very thorough with information and instructions and we appreciated all the detail and cozy features of this apartment.

This was a super cute place, a reasonable distance from Garden of the gods and other hiking areas near Shawnee State Park. There are lots of choices for pizza and other things for dinner and breakfast. They have the cutest little area for their hot tub that we definitely enjoyed. Is Hickory place to stay over when you’ve spent the day hiking.

Very comfortable and cute apartment. Lovely backyard sitting area. Walkable to downtown area of Harrisburg. Owner provided lots of information ahead of visit and we appreciated the maps, brochures and information in apt on local hiking and outdoor activities. Would definitely stay there again!

The place is nice an cozy, super hot tho even with fans on, some one needs to de a deep cleaning of it, and replace the beds on both of the rooms.

Very nice place with many amenities. Owners thought of everything and we had a great time. The keureg and coffee maker were a great surprise and we used both. No complaints from our teenagers.

This is a wonderful quiet little apartment that had everything you could possibly need. We just stayed for a quick overnight, but would love to come back and explore the area. The apartment decor was beautiful and the owner thought of everything, from robes for the hot tub to every flavor of coffee or tea you could want. Not to mention the delicious brownies that were awaiting us upon arrival. Just wonderful!

The apartment was updated, cozy and had a wonderful host. Judy was super accommodating to all our needs and then some. If you are ever in the Harrisburg IL area, don't go to the sketch hotels on the highway. Book with Judy. You'll love the experience.

This was a great experience for us. It allowed us and our 4 kids to come and go as we pleased and the rates were very reasonable. Judy is a great hostess and I would highly recommend her and this apartment.

The stay was perfect! Great communication with the host. I actually met the host and she was very polite, cheerful - just a delight. The place was spotless and quaint and there was a treat welcoming us. Information was left for what to do in the area and instructions were very clear for check out.The outdoor setting was beautiful, relaxing, and private. This was the ideal property for our family of 4 on spring break! Only a 30 minute drive out to some of the most amazing hiking spots in Shawnee Nation Park. After hiking all day, the hot tub just was just what we needed to relax our sore muscles. The hot tub is cleaned throughly after each stay so it was spotless. Temperature is spot on as well! The inclusion of the pickleball/tennis rackets was perfect for the courts at the huge nearby park. On our down day we biked (on the included bike plus the kids bikes we brought) to the nearby Dairy Queen, which we got a tip from the neighbor that their soft serve is the best around…she want lying :POverall a perfect stay! We will certainly be hitting up Jody in the future when we decide to see more of Shawnee!

The place was perfect for our stay. The kids enjoyed the hot tub. The hiking in Shawnee National Park was wonderful and the local park was very nice. The host even had pickle ball paddles and balls for us to use.

This was our second time staying at this location when we come into town to visit family. The hosts are wonderful and very responsive and accommodating. If able, we will always stay at this location when coming into Harrisburg. Highly recommended!

Hot tub, close to restaurants and nearby attractions

We came for our anniversary weekend so we could hike. This place was fabulous! So many little details were provided; the linens were amazing, the bathrobes and towels were cozy as well. Judy went to the florist to pick up flowers my husband had ordered so they were there when we arrived! Just thoughtful all around. The backyard is a true sanctuary and we loved the flowers and hummingbirds!

Host is very accommodating and friendly. Comfortable patio with flowers and outdoor sofa. TV works well and offers many viewing options. 3 air conditioning units. Good privacy. Kitchen stocked with all the essentials. You feel like a welcomed guest. Nice proximity to Shawnee National Forest.

Wonderful location and a beautiful property.

We were traveling with our 1 and 4 year olds and had a great stay - our 4 year old was bummed we had to leave so soon! The house was well stocked, spacious enough for our crew, and the yard was by far the best part - we spent most of our time out there. We were in town to do some hiking in Shawnee nearby and it was the perfect distance away. We hope to be back!

We loved staying at this quaint home. The garden is absolutley beautiful, great location to access downtown restaurants, and perfect base camp for exploring the Shawnee National Forest. Hot tub was a fun added bonus!

This location is a great place to stay for those who are exploring the Shawnee National Forest. We really enjoyed the hot tub after a long day of hiking the Gardens of the Gods. The house is located next to several great restaurants. 10/10 stay!

Cozy lil apartment was great for an anniversary getaway, hot tub was a great addition for nice relaxing evenings. The bikes were a treat to ride around town for sightseeing or visiting the coffee shop. Would definitely book it again for a future stay.

The hosts were so welcoming and the apartment was perfect for our family. The bikes were great and able to use on the bike path. Spent everyday outside at Shawnee and came back to lovely apartment and garden/ hot tub to relax. A fantastic getaway!

The owners are fantastic, the hot tub was amazing, everything was clean and well appointed. They thought of everything.

This was an amazing place to bring my mom and grandmother. I felt much better having the owner close by, in case anything unexpected happened. She was lovely, and everything was so well thought out and convenient. It was such a blessing for us to make memories here

Our stay was amazing! Harrisburg is in the perfect spot for Shawnee, and Judy’s apartment is the nicest spot in town hands down. The bikes were perfect for a little riding on the Tunnel Hill trail which is a great workout with some scenic views! We were well within driving distance to all the spots we wanted to hit for hiking as well. A bad storm blew through on our second night there at 2 in the morning, and Judy was kind enough to call us when the sirens went off and let us stay safe in her basement until the tornadoes passed. Couldn’t have asked for a better host for a perfect weekend getaway with my fiancée.I would give it a 6/5 if I could!!

It is clear that a lot of love and attention have been poured into this cozy apartment. It has been lovingly decorated (season themed) and has a charming garden with hummingbirds included. The apartment is walking distance to a park with pickleball courts and a nice Italian restaurant (healthy portions and super friendly staff). Thank you for a great stay.!
