Pono Kai B101, Udated, Beachfront, AC, Walk to Town, Sunrise Views

We had a great stay at this property! The property was very clean and well appointed with anything you might need for your stay. The unit is a great size and having beachfront access was exactly what we were looking for. The hosts were very communicative and took care of an issue right away. We would definitely stay again! Thank you

Good place to stay

This was a very disappointing Vrbo experience. Unfortunately the walls are paper thin and when the toilet flushes or people are upstairs walking, it’s unbearable The noise it sounds like torrential rain when the toilet flushes and elephants are upstairs stomping when they are walking. We couldn’t sleep. We couldn’t relax. Kapa Beach is not anywhere close to a swimming beach and although our ground level balcony had an amazing view of a beautiful ocean, the noise above us, made it really hard to relax and enjoy the serene views. We asked the people at front desk main lobby. If they could let the people above us know how horribly insulated this place was maybe they would be a little quieter if they only knew how much we could hear everything they did or said furniture moving balls bouncing. The response we got was quiet hours are from 10 to 8. If you have a problem call between this hours. We ended up booking a different room for the rest of our stay at the at Marriott resort just so we could have a place to sleep in quiet for the night. Not a good experience at all not worth the money. The location isn’t great I wouldn’t recommend.

Beautiful stay- comfortable and spacious common areas, bathrooms, and bedrooms. Condo with immediate beach access and lovely paved boardwalk for morning strolls to see the sunrise. Pictures do not do the place justice. Excellent amenities with great kitchen facilities and abundance of towels. Lovely to come home after long adventurous days to home cooked meals. We stayed here as a couple but could have easily fit our kids as an easier stay than a hotel. Resort had a wonderful hot tub and pool, laundry, hammocks and sports courts. The north and south were each 40-1:15 min away depending on traffic and we discovered beautiful local beaches within 15 min drive. Wailua falls and kayaking were close. Highly recommend!!

Very well equipped rental. Anything we needed was available; it lacked for nothing.

I have so many good things to say about this unit, I hardly know where to start! It was spotlessly clean. Beds have toppers making them very comfortable. The unit is exceedingly well-equipped from the kitchen (with every appliance, utensil, and dishware item) to extra pillows, towels, beach chairs, sports equipment, etc. Everything you could need. It’s also quite roomy with large bathrooms and closets. The location is fantastic as Kapaa is central for trips to both the north and south sides of the island. And the unit itself is situated with direct ocean views and a few steps from a sandy beach. The only thing I wish they had was an in-unit washer and dryer, but the laundry is just a few steps away and we never had to wait to use it. Plus, the price point for all you get makes up for that. We had a great time here!!

I stayed in Pono Kai B101 with my husband and 2 adult children. The condo itself is 5 stars, but stars knocked off for the noise level. POSITIVES: It is one of the most well supplied places we’ve ever stayed at with many beach accessories, chairs, umbrellas, towels, bathroom toiletries and extremely well stocked kitchen. There’s both a Keurig with provided coffee pods and a coffee maker. The place is spotlessly clean. The sliding door opens to a tabled patio and grassy area which ends at a bike/walking path where we enjoyed watching sunrises. We were very comfortable with A/C units in the living area and each bedroom. We had fun during the koi feeding at the ground’s pond. The grounds keeper would fish for tilapia in the pond to feed the resident heron bird. The location is an easy walk in to town, where there are eateries and bakeries (Wailua Bakery & Haole Girl are terrific!) Poke from Pono Market is the best! Safeway is conveniently close. NEGATIVE (unfortunately): the insulation between the upper floor and lower unit’s ceiling is poor. You can hear every single footstep from the tenant in the upper condo. It was loud and there was only a single occupant! Good thing there weren't multiple people staying. You can also hear the upper unit’s toilet flush, it sounded like water gushing down the walls in the master bedroom. At first we were super annoyed but at some point we just started laughing about it and let it not ruin our stay.

The condo is well equipped with a ground level ocean view. While we made good use of the property’s pool, hot tub, and pickleball courts, we mostly enjoyed the convenience of the short walk to great local restaurants like Fish Bar Deli. The condo is a short drive from the airport and kayaking Wailua River.Everything else we wanted to do was within a 30 minute drive.

Rating Details: The property manager was somewhat unhelpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was more than happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The entire property is old and not well maintained. Many signs of wood rot and rusted metal. The patio door screen was rusted and off its track, making it unusable. Unit B101 was large enough, but the air conditioning temperature controls weren't accurate for the living room and bedrooms. The best feature was proximity to the ocean and restaurants in Kapa'a.

The condo is in fantastic shape and stocked up with everything you need to enjoy your stay. The beachfront view is phenomenal and the grounds are great

The property is spacious and inviting. Several restaurants/shops are within walking distance and the path out back is a nice stroll, morning or evening.
