This condo. offers the most spectacular, sweeping, direct ocean front views in all of the Florida Keys, featuring turquois colored waters. Our condo. is located in Tavenier, on Plantation Key, in the Village of Islamorada, at Mile Marker 90. This is an ideal location in the Upper Keys between Key Largo and the rest of the Village of Islamorada. It is easily accessible to numerous highly unique, locally owned and operated restaurants, markets, art galleries, fishing charters, boat rentals, snorkleing tours, museums, National, State, and local parks. Our location in the Florida Keys offers some of the most visually intense and stunningly beautiful views in the world. It is an hour and 1/2 drive to the Miami International Airport. It is an hour drive from the Everglades National Park, and a stunning and scenic 90 mile drive to the charming and ecclectic city of Key West at Mile Marker zero.

Our condo is located on the 5th floor, in an elevator building, and offers a direct ocean front and beach front view that can be enjoyed from all rooms, or by sitting on the large 28' long private balcony that is accessible from all rooms. The exposure from our private balcony faces east, offering spectacular views of the expansive private beach, the Atlantic ocean, the sunrise, and various uninhabited offshore Keys. Our unit does not face the school or the mangroves or Wrenn St., like the majority of units at this complex. It's direct oceanfront and beachfront location make this unit one of the most coveted in the building. There are absolutely no traffic noises.

Our condo has recently been renovated, everything about it is new, upscale, and extremely clean.
The living area is an open plan with a large island, full kitchen, and most importantly, a fabulous direct ocean view from inside and from the adjoining private balcony. Each of the two bedrooms also face the ocean and have access to the balcony. The ocean view is expansive (not just a glimpse of ocean) and especially enjoyable at sunrise--or with a glass of wine at sunset.
The Master bedroom has a brand new memory foam king bed. It is large, light, and airy with a large closet and spacious bath with double sinks, and a most pleasant walk-in tiled shower. As noted, it opens to the balcony. Dedicated home office located in the master bedroom.
The second bedroom has two twin beds, large closet, and, again, a great ocean view through the sliding glass doors leading to the balcony.
Our grounds and common areas, including the gym, were rebuilt following Hurricane Irma. The heated pool is open and delightful as is the large sandy beach with Tiki huts and a barbecue. (swimming off this beach is not ideal, as the terrain is very shallow and the bottom varied. Non-motorized watercraft are an ideal way to explore this waterfront oasis, and there are local companies that will deliver kayaks and/or paddle boards for a fee)
Area Information
Islamorada is a third of the way down the Keys. Far enough to be fully in the Keys but still in proximity to Miami International Airport as well as Ft. Lauderdale International Airport. Yet, if you want to go to Key West for a day, it is only 90 miles away. (If you go, we suggest the Hemingway House, the Truman Library, and dinner at Maison de Pepe!) If fishing is your thing, Tavernier is the Sport Fishing Capital of the World! Half and full day fishing charters are abundant in all sizes and configurations, as are scuba, snorkel, and diving opportunities. Kayaks, paddle boards, boats, and jet skis are easily rented from several local outfits. Several nearby transient marinas can even accommodate your own boat!
Eating out is just one of the great activities here. We enjoy the many art galleries and museums, John Pennekamp State Park, Theater of the Sea, hiking along the bike path and along the old highway and so forth--this list is endless.
As the United States becomes more homogenized with the same chain restaurants in every city, the same shopping malls, and the same freeways, the Keys may be one of the last areas with a true and distinct character. They are unique, colorful, and full of character (and characters). This is a place to be savored and enjoyed to the fullest.
Favorite Places To Eat
Our condo has an open plan with an island and full kitchen. If you want to cook, enjoy! But there are so many great restaurants nearby that one almost feels guilty not going out all the time. But just to mention a few favorite, and excellent, dining spots: Snooks Bayside, Made to Order (breakfast, lunch), Snappers (either at the bar or on the water). And so forth--it is a dining paradise around here.
We noted above how many good or great restaurants there are in the area. But here is a more complete list. Understand there are so many we have yet to try them all...but we are making an attempt.

Pro tip: Look for restaurants that don't have a showy facade. The really good ones don't have to make a show--the locals already know where they are. You may say, The smaller the sign, the better the restaurant. For example, no one would have any idea of Snooks Bayside from their sign, and it is a hidden treat as are Lorelei and others. Explore and take a chance.

    Spectacular view, which is the most important thing to me. The condo itself was perfect. Great touches by the owners like having power strips mounted on the wall over the bedside tables, and helpful labels on light/fan switches. I felt very safe with all the building's security features. Spent a lot of time at the pool which was a perfect temperature in January, & the other residents were friendly. I would definitely go back!

    We were fortunate to spend a 28 day vacation in this lovely condo located in a well maintained building. The view from every room and the spacious balcony is beautiful. The oceanfront grounds offer opportunities for kayaking and fishing. There is a nicely equipped gym and a pool with plenty of shade or sun seating. The owners, John and PJ, respond quickly to any questions. We enjoyed our time there and will be back next year.

    I don’t have one negative about this fabulous condo! The view is something you have to experience for yourself. We were so impressed that we already booked for next year. The heated pool and many other amenities are top notch. The beds were so comfortablel and the spacious balcony provided sun from early morning to late afternoon.

    We loved our stay at this beautiful ocean view condo! The 5th floor view is incredible, looking southeast over a beach area for a huge span of the Atlantic Ocean, the water only yards away. Two islands are visible, and the small one is a short kayak paddle away. And what gorgeous sunrises! The interior is newly renovated and very comfortable and charming. And we loved the original artwork! We also loved the pool, workout area, and lounge area downstairs. And, unlike many other condo complexes, this building is designed to allow maximum privacy on its large balconies. And importantly, the building is off the highway enough so that it is very quiet, especially on the ocean side. Owners John and PJ are very pleasant, easy to reach and responsive, and we had no problems. There happened to be construction on the building while we were here and the owners disclosed that accurately to us before we rented. We have no complaints and hope to rent here again!     This rental is right on the ocean with everything you will need to enjoy your vacation. Close to restaurants, grocery stores, state parks, and any water activity you enjoy. Great price, very clean, quick elevators, 2 pay washers and dryers just down the hall, great parking, very friendly and quiet building, and John and PJ are great hosts. Very quick with their response to any and all inquiries or concerns. They really care about providing the best service they can so you have a great and memorable vacation.

    We had the best time in this beautiful condo! The view from all of the rooms is breathtaking! Got to see the full moon rise! The pool area was under construction and we wish we had more notice but we went to Founders Park and swam in the Olympic sized pool one day. The pool opened the day before we left so the kids enjoyed it!
