Oceanfront 2 bedroom condo- Pet Friendly- Mermaids Retreat

The condo was priced as a premium location but when we arrived we didn't find anything premium about it. Floors were dirty, and the washer/dryer had rust and mold on them. The fixtures in the bathroom were delapidated and had rust. The ac vents were rusty - the door access code didn't work so we had to use the key lock box. Front door was discolored from long standing dirt. The sliding glass door lock was broke but functional and the most of the dining room/kitchen furniture was badly worn. I had to email the host on my way to the condo (around 4pm) to get the welcome letter wish she responded with the standard form no apology or oops .. Just a copy and paste. On the bright side it was beach front and the parking was ok...

The condo had everything we needed for our stay. Plenty of blankets, pillows and towels. The kitchen was fully functional. Only problem was the cable tv box in the master bedroom did not work. Other than that everything was perfect.

perfect location with all the amenities

We had a wonderful vacation with our family and two Yorkies! The Mermaid’s Retreat had everything we needed to feel right at home. The kitchen was well stocked with everything needed to meal prep, cook and clean. Check in/check out was a breeze. Walking distance to the boardwalk.

Ju a great beachfront view and wonderful relaxing stay visiting family and walking to restaurants, shops and beach and boardwalk. We’ll definitely be back !

The condo was exactly as advertised. Nice balcony off of the living room and view of water. Very convenient location. We could walk to restaurants. My only concern was the lack of soap in either of the bathrooms.

Loved the location, in walking distance to everything you want to go do and easy access to the beach.

Alana was an extremely attentive host not only before and during our stay, but also after. We let her know that we are interested in Carolina Beach and the NC coast for retirement, and she generously shared contacts in the area for us to further explore the market. It is not surprising that Alana is a Premier host with consistently high rated properties. We will stay with her again knowing how responsive she is to her customers!

Perfect quiet beach front with great view of ocean.

Location - great ! Cleaning company - not so much.

Love how close it was to shops. Weather was unexpected as dar as cloudy and wet. Condo was overall clean and view looks as if the ocean would have looked beautiful.

The property had everything we needed and had easy access but there were some things that could have been cleaned up better before our stay. But overall it worked for us.

The view from the deck was great.The property was comfortable and clean. Would recommend.

The only reason this was not a 5 is because the complex is older and somewhat dated. It was clean with what we needed and convenient. I am not a fan of this section of the beach- fluffy sand with quick slope to the water make walking more of a challenge.

Great area, pool was just across the street. Conveniently located close to restaurants and grocery store.

Wonderful accommodations. The only complaint was the cleaning crew did a horrible job cleaning prior to our arrival. I had to sweep the floors even.... Otherwise, the place was nice and just what we needed. I only complain about the cleanliness or lack thereof, because I hate to think they are probably paying a pretty penny for the service.

We very much enjoyed our stay! The apartment had such a wonderful beachy cottage feel! It was a very short walk to the beach. We could site on the deck and enjoy the sights and sounds of the ocean!

I stay in this general area every year and it's a great area. Within walking distance to the boardwalk, restaurants, etc. Room was very clean and neat, easy check in. Highly recommended!

The location of the condo is great you have access to the beach within a few feet. You can walk or rent a golf cart to zoom around!!! Plenty of places to eat and shop !!!
