The Neighborhood:

Adventure awaits on Pleasure Island. Exploring the North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher, home to incredible coastal wildlife, or take the scenic car ferry across the Cape Fear River for a relaxing visit to the charming town of Southport where quaint streets are filled with unique antique shops and galleries. History lovers can walk the scenic, live‑oak‑lined trails of the Fort Fisher State Historic Site, where Civil War bunkers still stand. Nature enthusiasts will love the island’s two state‑managed coastal preserves: Carolina Beach State Park, home to rare Venus flytraps found naturally only in this region, and the Fort Fisher State Recreation Area, known for pristine beaches, marshes, and wildlife viewing. Both offer beautiful opportunities for hiking, paddling, fishing, and spotting pelicans or even nesting loggerhead sea turtles.

After a day outdoors, unwind on your private balcony with a sunset cocktail, or head into town to explore the best of Carolina Beach. The Carolina Beach Boardwalk, ranked one of the Top 10 Boardwalks in the U.S. by Food & Wine, features classic seaside fun—local restaurants, an arcade, ice cream shops, bars, and the famous Britt’s Donuts. In summer, enjoy weekly fireworks and live entertainment, carnival rides, family nights, and Flamingo BINGO. Off‑season brings signature island events like the Cape Fear Kite Festival, Christmas by the Sea, and the Island of Lights Festival. Pleasure Island offers something unforgettable for every traveler—adventure, relaxation, and the perfect coastal escape.

Getting Around:

Getting around Pleasure Island is a breeze! While parking can be limited in peak season, especially in popular spots, paid private or public parking is available. We recommend exploring Carolina Beach and Kure Beach on foot or by bike – they're super walkable and bike-friendly. You'll find safe pedestrian and bike routes, including the Island Greenway. Renting a golf cart or bike is easy, too, with several local rental companies. Golf carts are one of the easiest ways to cruise around the island. Rentals are simple to arrange, and once you're behind the wheel, you can zip along any road posted 35 mph or under.

Overall my family and I enjoyed our stay. The view was spectacular. However, the floor could have been mopped up better and the blinds in the bedroom (queen bed) should be replaced.

The star of the show…The unobstructed ocean view from the room and balcony! Easy walk to beach! Covered Parking. A/C was kicking! Kitchen-had everything and we used it often- Ice Maker in Fridge was a bonus. Washer/Dryer was a bonus too! Great water pressure and hairdryers in both bathrooms. TV in both bedrooms and Living Room. Hardwood Floors. Nicely Decorated. Nice layout and roomy! Location: Fort Fisher - Kure Beach Line-was Fabulous!. Close to Everything! Less Traffic. Can’t wait to come back!!

Beautiful location. Worst beds I have ever slept on in a rental. All the furniture, pillows, dishes etc need to be replaced. Very disappointed with the quality of everything in the condo. Run down , dirty and not comfortable.

Wonderful location and HOA community. However, there were several issues that need attention like the deck furniture was so rusty that we were afraid to sit on it or use it. The deck table was so rusty that if dropped rust flakes all over the deck. The refrigerator opened backward in a galley kitchen, so you had a hard time getting stuff out (it has reversible door hinges). Doors stuck, outlets didn't work. The condo we rented last year in the same complex was great, this one...not so much.

We had a good stay but it was a little dingy. The check in process and communication prior to our stay was awesome. The view was awesome and the place was clean. The only things wrong were the outside wear and tear, the bathrooms, and the bedroom blinds. The bathroom finishes seemed a little cheap and the towel holder fell off of the wall as soon as we got there. There were also roaches the size of a man's pinky finger found in the bathroom (also one in the kitchen) and the kids were afraid to go in. Lastly, the blinds in the bedroom kept falling off. You could tell previous guests put other broken blinds under the bed or in the closet. After trying to put them back up, I was 50% successful and left the rest where I found them under the bed and in the closet.

We enjoyed our stay here — this condo complex is unbeatable if you want to be right on the ocean and on a quieter section of the beach. The condo met all of our needs, although I will say that the furniture is a bit “well-loved” and not that comfortable. The mattress in the master bedroom was lumpy and squeaky — kinda hard to get out of bed without waking your sleeping partner. :). Deck was great — plenty of seating and amazing ocean views. Kitchen had just about everything you would need, but be aware that there are no household products of any kind in the condo, so you will have to buy all of that yourself (paper products, trash bags, soap, cleaning products, etc). This was the first time we rented a condo that was managed by a realty company and not an individual owner, but they (SeaCoast Rentals) were great with their communication and the check-in/check-out process was super easy.

Wood on deck rotten needs fixed before someone gets hurt. Railing going into rooms was broken. Master bed was broken on side closest to window. Everything else was good

This was a great condo and we loved how close it was to the beach- you can heat the waves even with all the doors and windows shut! The only thing that was an issue is many of the blinds need to be updated. One thing that would be a game changer is blackout curtains in the master bedroom as a lot of light comes in during the morning. Sea coast properties did a great job of addressing my concerns with covid and accommodating a special request. I overall loved this property .

This was our first time to vacation in Kure beach. The condo that we stayed in was more than we expected. It was a very nice place with a great view of the ocean. We were talkin on our way home and maybe we can come back and stay again next year. Thanks
