Summary:

Kona Bay stays in view from this one-bedroom Kona Ali'i condo, and Hale Halawai Park is across the street when a waterside picnic or a few minutes on the grass sounds right. The condo sleeps four in two beds and has two baths, a welcome advantage for a small family. The open living area, full kitchen, furnished lanai, ceiling fans, private washer and dryer, WiFi, and cable TV make it easy to settle into Kailua-Kona. Walk Ali'i Drive for local restaurants, beaches, parks, and fishing charters, then return to watch the bay settle toward sunset. It is a strong choice for guests who want the energy of town without giving up a front-row water view.

The Space:

This 780-square-foot condo has one bedroom, two baths, and two beds for up to four guests. The open living area lets the group stay connected while someone uses the full kitchen. The furnished lanai faces Kona Bay, adding outdoor space for the changing water view. Ceiling fans, cable TV, WiFi, and a private washer and dryer support a comfortable stay.

Guest Access:

This Kona Ali'i home offers a private entrance and access to the resort's communal pool, with resort access and an elevator on site. The grounds provide outdoor seating near the bay, with a sea view and easy walking access to the water's edge.

The Neighborhood:

Kailua-Kona is the sunny, walkable side of the Big Island, where Ali'i Drive follows the water past historic sites, restaurants, small beaches, and the harbor. Hale Halawai Park is nearby for a waterside picnic, and Kailua Bay is a natural place to catch the late-day light. Fishing charters depart from the harbor, while Kahalu'u Beach Park farther south is a well-known snorkeling stop. It is an especially good setting for travelers who want coffee, dinner, and a shoreline stroll within their Kona day.

Getting Around:

Kona International Airport is about 10 to 15 minutes away, making arrival simple. A rental car is recommended so you can explore the Kona Coast at your own pace. Downtown Kailua-Kona's shops, restaurants, and oceanfront Ali'i Drive are often within walking distance or a short drive, with beaches, snorkeling spots, and grocery stores close by. Parking is generally available on site or nearby, whether street or lot.

Other Things to Note:

• No smoking is permitted anywhere on the premises.

• Streaming services are available with guests' own account(s).

• This vacation rental is not child-friendly for children under the age of eight due to the high lanai and furniture there.

• This property is managed by Heavenly Vacations.

• All guests shall abide by Heavenly's good neighbor policy and shall not engage in illegal activity.

• Quiet hours are from 9:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m.

Upon checkin, there was a bit of confusion because of multiple key boxes on the front door of the unit, none of which we needed or had access to. The kitchen is tiny and tight, but we made it work. It was a delight to find that there was a Brita water filter in the fridge so we didn't need to buy filtered water. We appreciated having the visual barrier with the second bed which isn't common in these units. We stay in various units at this property every time we visit Kona. The sound and view of the ocean is calming and delightful! The central location allows us to walk to almost everything we want -- swimming, restaurants, 3 ABC stores (because 1 is never enough). It was fairly easy to deal with Vacasa, the intermediary for the owners, but they go a bit overboard with automatic texts that can be frustrating.

Move in was terrible. It was late our time and the instructions were not clear. We called the company and woman who answered was NOT helpful.Shower for bedroom was not very good. Started at very cold then after 5 minutes turned very hot.Loved the ocean!

Very comfortable condo. Amazing view of the ocean. Walkable location (although as a result there is some road noise). No A/C, but we were OK in hot and humid weather with the ceiling fans.

An excellent condo. The view of the ocean is terrific. It's very close to places where you can walk for dinner. The kitchen is well supplied. It could perhaps use another comfortable chair with an ottoman in the living room and it seems like it takes a month for the hot water to reach the showers. It is not possible to adjust the water temperature in the shower in the non-master suite. These were very minor issues. The snorkel gear was excellent. It was a wonderful place to stay and we would stay here again in a heartbeat.

The unit was great and the view was amazing! Close to many great restaurants, shops and farmers market. There is a busy road in front of the condo and the bedroom window faces an open walkway .. can be noisy at times. Overall, good stay!

Great location. Great amenities: well stocked with everything you need Excellent bed. Great views Only problem is that you have to run the shower for 5-10 minutes before the water warms; for a state that claims to suffer drought with public signs encouraging water saving measures, this felt terribly wasteful
