Stayed May 31, 2024David was a great, communicative host. His apartment is centrally located, making it easy to walk to many good restaurants and cafes, plus the included parking made exploring the island easy. The apartment is clean, nicely decorated, and the kitchen is fully stocked. It does sometimes get a little bit loud in the area at night but we weren't really bothered. Overall, we would definitely stay again!

Stayed Mar 30, 2024The Kona Alii is probably our favourite condo on the Big Island. This was our first stay overlooking the pool rather than the street/ocean. We really enjoyed the unit. North-facing with a nice breeze in April, we rarely turned on the fans and certainly never missed air conditioning. The unit is well stocked, clean, and comfortable. Lots of room for the two of us. The only drawback was the early morning traffic floating through the bedroom window (mostly delivery and garbage trucks I think, at Coconut Grove) and the light from the outside hallway, but the owers can't control that. We had night shades, so that helped with the light. We loved the rooftop terrace for morning coffee and sunsets: we even spotted a whale breaching one evening. Thanks to David for accommodating our late check out! We would certainly stay here again!
