Any unit at Royal Palms that ends with 01 has an unobstructed view of the beach, the Alabama State Park pier, and Lake Shelby! We stayed in this unit in 2022 and were disappointed in the overall condition but decided to give it another try. Definitely a GREAT decision. The current owners have done a wonderful job remodeling. (Our only question was, Why so many breakable glasses in the cabinets? It would have been nice to have a few more beach friendly glasses.) The new management company, Bender Realty, was professional, friendly, and easy to contact. We would definitely recommend it to other travelers, as long as you don't reserve it for the times we want it!! You won't be disappointed!

We stay in so many of these condos on the gulf beaches that it becomes hard to find specific words that are helpful. First the condo and then the property. The condo has been perfectly decorated and maintained. One KS bed (a little squeaky) and on QS bed (did not use - used the room for storage). This unit is slightly larger than those in areas further east. It sits next to GS State Park so the view you see should never be obstructed by another big project. This unit is on the 6th floor so it is high enough. I cant find anything that was a negative about the unit, The Property. It is gated (to keep nonresidents from parking there(?)). Parking was easy and, for us, shaded the entire time we were there. Lots of parking. Elevators are a constant problem at most places but not here. Two pretty new Otis elevators got everyone in and out fast. It is the beach so keeping public areas clean and sharp is hard but they did a pretty good job. Overall I would give the Unit a 4.9 / 5 and the property a 4.4 / 5. The Beach is at the quiet end of the public beach (+), GS is growing but better than a lot of gulf communities (+), the State Park is great to have right next door (+++). Beach chairs were $40(?)/day and not included in the Unit rental but we have our own anyway. We'll be back.

But being next to the state park was perfect. Not to crowded and well kept beach and property. Would be interested in owning.
