Stayed Oct 10, 2025It felt safe and quiet being in a gated community resort, away from the hustle and bustle of Kailua Kona, very comfortable and spacious. We enjoyed making breakfast every morning; we had everything we could have needed and more. We truly felt at home. We loved having a washer and dryer right in the condo, as well as being on the first floor with our own backyard to watch many colorful, different species of birds that came to visit us. It was truly divine.

Stayed Jan 28, 2025This ground floor unit was in a well maintained quiet complex. The lanai was surrounded by a green hedge that gives the feel of privacy. We were close to the pool and BBQs. The bed was very comfortable and just the right firmness. Management was easy to communicate with and were responsive to any questions or concerns. The kitchen was well supplied. Would consider staying here again if we ever revisit The Big Island.

Stayed Nov 8, 2024We really this unit. Spacious, nice natural light, patio with large grass area. The bed and furniture was nice. We were happy to find a cooler and two beach chairs that we used a lot. Close to pool and hot tub. The unit is very well maintained.

Stayed Feb 10, 2024We enjoyed mid-seventies (F) February temperatures and cheerful tree-filled birds. Rosy-faced lovebirds and Mynahs above us and Kolea, doves and Gray Francolins enjoying the many well-tended lawns. Truly an oasis amid the lava fields. Skies so dark that the Milky Way was visible.

Stayed Dec 26, 2023I recently stayed 10 nights at this condo in the Shores at Waikoloa. First, the communication with the company (Maui Condo and Home)was excellent, they gave me the codes 2 days in advance.(The codes change with each guest) The Shores at Waikoloa is a quiet complex with a decent pool area and a few communal BBQs. It is a 8-12 minute walk to King Shops and Queens Market. For reference, the condo is a closer walk to the Hilton than the Marriott. The condo itself is a ground floor unit. The patio has a table with chairs and a lounger. There is a decent amount of privacy because a row of 5-6 foot shrubs surround the patio so if you want to have a drink outside no one will notice you and there are no other lanais or windows within close proximity peering down on you. Since there is only one washroom, the condo is suitable for 2 people or less. Everything worked fine including the handy ice maker and 2 televisions and the bed was comfortable and the washroom had 2 sinks which is great for couples. The towels and bedsheets were clean and fresh. Overall, if you have the right expectations, you will enjoy your stay. There are no magnificent ocean or mountain views, so if you want that you can pay 30-50% more and rent a condo with those views. I would stay here again.

Stayed Nov 30, 2023This condo complex is so well maintained and has luxe landscaping. Very spacious feel to the unit and the complex. One plus not mentioned in the listing is the lawn area off the lanai. It is surrounded by a gardenia hedge that gives it privacy. The lawn area is large enough for kids to play and run around. Pool towels and some toys and kid friendly plastic dishware are provided too. Good sound proofing between units.
