Cottonwood Condo 1474 - Walk To Sun Valley Resort Pool, Shopping, Dining

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The condo was great. Kitchen very well equipped. Having two bathrooms was very helpful. Condo was well stocked with towels and household items (could have used just a little more shampoo and conditioner though). Everything worked well (the heater kind of overworked!) It is a little tight in the living room with the Murphy bed down but doable. We didn’t use the pool because it is far away, especially in a storm. We would have liked to but it wasn’t convenient.Management must find a better way to distribute and collect keys. Without a car it is extremely painful as you have to come to their office during business hours ... laden down probably with all your stuff like skis, boots, etc. To collect the keys we walked 20 mn in the snow and rain then 20 mn back. To drop off the keys we had to either send one person by bus/walking or taxi to drop off the keys, and spend a long time doing that while someone else watched the stuff, or get a private ride to the airport so we could ask the driver to stop there, you can’t depend on Uber doing it. Extremely painful. With all the electronic systems out there, surely there is a better way.

This year, our booking was through this management company and it was a less than stellar experience.We hope to return to this property but will book directly with owners.

My daughter and I were very happy with the location and the unit. It was a short walk to the rinks, which is where we spent most of our days. It was also quiet and very well kept. We did not use the Murphy bed, but it looked in working order and more comfortable than a sofa bed. The unit was stocked well with all the kitchenware anyone would need. The place is small, but very well organized. It worked perfectly for the two of us. You could fit additional people, but the only additional sleeping space is in the living room on the queen-size Murphy bed. It would be tight with 4 people, but for a family, you could make it work. The only negative to the unit is the building the unit is in. They are older and not very well kept. The carpet and paint are run down and typically smell. I could never figure out if it was smells from other condos coming together in the hallway or if it was just the older mildew smell of the building. The stairs going from the first floor to the second floor are also very narrow. Hard to carry larger bags up and down. The negatives would not stop us from staying at this location again, though. Just pointing out, so people know what to expect, and that the unit does not replicate how the common areas of the building are kept.

My family really enjoyed this condo. It is right on golf course with 2 decks to enjoy the view. Best of all we were able to bring our best friend; our dog Kenny.

Convenient on-property parking (although if you dont want to rent a car, public transportation is easy). I want to mention that if you decide to use the Murphy bed in the living room there is more privacy than you would expect as there are pocket doors that separate the living/kitchen area from the rest of the condo. There are also 2 full bathrooms. I noticed that some reviews mention a lack of washer/dryer. This is a mistake on some of the booking sites if they state that these appliances are in place as they are not. I booked through Alpine Lodging Sun Valley and their listing info was correct. Also, as a property management company they were very helpful! I would book any of their properties as they are on-site and available.

In terms of dishes, cooking utensils, pans etc., it was the best equipped condo that we have rented. The Murphy Bed was comfortable. The only downside was that it does not have a washer or dryer. Reviewer Comments: Perhaps the biggest problem was the absence of a washer and dryer. There were no deck chairs. Had to wait until 4 pm to get into the unit even though it was done. Lack of instructions on how to operate walk-in shower and tv would have been helpful. Getting in and out of the tub is difficult for older people.

A few suggestions, a washer and dryer is needed in unit. Also it would be nice if the balcony would have been cleaned and had a couple chairs on it to enjoy the outdoors. Lastly, several screens need repaired. We would stay in this unit again if there was a washer/dryer. Thanks, comfortable unit.
