Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We have been coming to The Islander for 14 years now. I'm sad to see how much it has gone downhill. The overall property as well as the individual units. We have brought 7 other families to The Islander in the past, and always recommended it to people. The A/C was out on the unit we were supposed to be in which was a gold unit. Staff put us in a Platinum Plus unit which was very kind and much appreciated. However, my husband and I both said we have no idea how this unit qualified as Platinum Plus. It did have a washer and dryer in it. But the unit was the most outdated unit we have ever stayed in. We usually stay in Silver or Gold so we are not sure how this qualified as Platinum. The furniture was so uncomfortable to sit on. You could feel the springs through the couch cushions. We could hardly sit on the furniture at all it was that uncomfortable, and stained and dirty. Outdated decor, paint, looked like it hadn't been updated since 1980.

Easy check in close to the beach, has a beautiful view of the ocean, family really enjoyed.

Reviewer Comments: A two-year belated 30th birthday trip got us back to Destin with our daughter and friends who introduced us to this area almost five years ago. It was everything we remembered and more. Beautiful white sand beach, chairs/umbrella at our service, nice clean pools and cookout area.

This was a wonderful little condo close to the beach. Our whole family loved it!

Maintenance staff was quick and efficient when we had issues. It was a complete change in front desk and management. Front desk was not well trained and assistant manager knew very little about customer service.
