Our reservation was cancelled the day we got there, after I reached out to the rental property manager looking for check-in instructions! I actually reached out to him about 2 weeks prior to our arrival date just to make sure I didn’t need to do anything extra to confirm things. I was told that everything was set and all I had to do is go to the front desk to be checked in. Once at the front desk I was told that they never check-in any customers for the privately owned units, they should have reached out to me with instructions before the arrival date. After reaching out and finding out that the unit was not available for us I asked why he had not told me when I reached out earlier. He said that the reservation was all set at the time I reached out. Hard to believe since he lied and said that I just checkin like at any other hotel, at the front desk. Also, the hotel that owns the rest of the units informed us that this happens frequently! So do not rent from this jerk unless you want to pay more then double day of arrival at other spots in town since things were very booked up in the city! I have used VRBO and Expedia in the past, will never do it again. They may have saved me some money, but not having a place to sleep at night in a strange city is not worth the savings! And we are hard working people that save up for vacations so to more than double the price at the last minute is a huge hit for us! We’re both nurses- family, friends and patients will hear about this!!

The room and the location were wonderful and rate a 5. However, After three nights we were told we would have to move to another apt. Management said the owner should have told us; which they didn't. Moreover, no one in management made any mention of this upon check-in. We've never had this experience in dozens of short-term rentals. To their credit, we were able to negotiate to stay in our unit.

This was my first time to Charleston, and if you’re traveling with a wife, husband, or a small family this is the place for you. This hotel is nestled right in the heart of where you want to be. Restaurants, bakeries, and bars seconds away from the front door. The area is extremely clean and safe.Would stay here again.

The property was just as advertised. The room we were given was not the exact room that was in the booking (biggest difference was the full kitchen booked, but received a mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker, toaster oven). However it ended up working out well. The location was perfect! We walked everywhere, only driving to Mt. Pleasant and Isle of Palms. Plenty of shops, restaurants, tours to choose from. Our favorite? The Old South Carriage ride, U.S.S. Yorktown ghost tour. Favorite restaurant was Magnolias (right next to Lodge Valley Inn. The room was nice and clean. My only suggestions for the room itself would be to add another trash can in the living room area, and the rug needs a good deep clean. The biggest negative is the parking. We parked across the street in a parking garage, which was 24 per 12 hours, which is pricey. Great place to stay for walking and location to everything! We will definitely be back!!!

The apartment was a good size, well equipped, and a great location for downtown Charleston. The staff was cheerful and very helpful. The drawback was it was up two flights of stairs but the staff took care of that difficulty. We would stay there again.

From our initial booking through check out on our last day, the hosts were very timely with responses and check-ins. The condo was very clean and well appointed. The location is perfect for exploring the historical section of Charleston on foot. A variety of places to eat and shop are all nearby. Walking tours, horse and carriage tours, harbor tours, museums are delightful ways to explore all that Charleston has been and is today.

This is a beautiful property and you couldn't ask for a better location in downtown Charleston. 2 Blocks from the Market, 2 blocks from a parking deck as well as close proximity to any of the restaurants and attractions you would like to visit. The location is a little noisy due to the building of something next door but where in Charleston isn't? The kitchen has the bare essentials. The mattress is very comfortable. Linens and towels are plentiful. (Be aware the bedroom is upstairs in an open loft!) The shower could use a good cleaning due to some mildew on the tiles that is present but nothing that can't be overlooked. The main thing is that this beautiful VRBO listing is in a Hilton Resort property and the concierge in the lobby is VERY persistent in trying to get you to come to a promotional presentation. It was quite irritating after our 5 day stay. The host was extremely responsive and easy to work with in all matters.

Best part of this property was the location. We were in the heart of old downtown Charleston so we could walk to everything. We spent 3 days and never took our car out of the parking lot. Parking is very expensive so we opted for valet. There were so many places to eat and so little time.

Second time staying at the Lodge Alley Inn and this stay was even better than our first visit a year & half ago. We stayed in a 2-story loft unit and it was beautiful and very comfortable and spacious. Friendly staff. You can access the High Cotton restaurant from inside the resort near the check-in desk, which is very convenient. The only recommendation I would make is to change the beds to King size instead of Queen size. There is plenty of room for a King bed and is much more comfortable for couples.Ideal Location and walking distance to great restaurants and sightseeing.

What a great find in the heart of Charleston's Historic District. With the bedroom and bathroom on the second-floor loft, and the kitchen and living room downstairs, this unit felt large and inviting. Tastefully decorated, super-clean and well maintained. The location in the Historic District was perfect for walking to so many great places and restaurants. We would definitely stay here again!

Nice place. Great area of Charleston especially for walking to sites. Clean & friendly staff. Parking is not cheap. Public Parking Garage is about 2.5 blocks away. Biggest issue with unit was the water pressure in shower & kitchen. It was terrible. I have long thick hair & washing it took forever due to lack of pressure. There was a dishwasher in the unit but no soap for it. Dish soap was available for washing dishes by hand. Overall it was a nice place & I would probably rent again if in the area.

I would have given 5 stars, but it was hard to sleep every night because the walls are so thin, we could hear lots of noise from the neighbors. It might be less of a problem if you don't have a room above you, but we did. We were kept up late and woken up early by people upstairs and nextdoor.Other than that, it's a beautiful property in a great location. Staff are friendly and helpful.
