Book your 5⭐️ stay in this cozy second floor 2 bedroom/1 bath suite in the desirable DeBaliviere neighborhood. This vacation rental is only a 2 block walk from Forest Park & its Metrolink train stop, your group will have access to everything the city has to offer. This 100 year-old historic home is only blocks from Forest Park, the site of the 1904 World's Fair Exposition and Summer Olympics.

UPDATED May 30, 2025: Our neighborhood was hit with the May 16th tornado which was 1 mile wide and 23 miles long. Although many homes along its path were devastated, the buildings along our street mainly suffered roof damage, broken windows and uprooted trees. The city has cleaned most of that up and the area is getting back to normalcy. Our building received minimal damage and has been fully occupied.

Suites in the Lou offers 6 private furnished rental suites in one building - great for a large group which may want to all stay in one place. Walkable to Forest Park, Metrolink train stop, Delmar Loop, restaurants, and shopping. Additional listings can be found online at SuitesintheLou To see our other suites, go to my PROFILE page for a listing of all our accommodations in the same building.

This 2nd floor 2-bedroom/1 bath suite sleeps 4 guests. Enjoy a king bedroom for you plus a second bedroom with a queen bed.

DeBaliviere Place epitomizes the best that urban St. Louis has to offer. Bordered by Delmar Boulevard, Lindell Boulevard, DeBaliviere Avenue, and Union Boulevard, this area includes exclusive streets like Kingsbury Square, Washington Terrace, and Waterman Place. The numerous late 19th century mansions, as well as the elegant apartment buildings and churches, make this neighborhood a St. Louis treasure.
Neighborhood Features:
• 19th Century architecture
• A mix of fine homes, condos, and apartment buildings
• Historic churches
• Crossroads College Preparatory School and other private and public schools
• A central location with walkable retail and dining options

How to Find our Building: Because we are on a dead-end street, you can only access our address coming from the East. There is no direct access from DeBaliviere Avenue.

Off-street Parking: Access to the parking lot is available after you arrive and check into your unit. A key to your back door entrance will be waiting for you inside. In the meantime, feel free to find a parking spot out front on the street.

Having a full kitchen and dining space was key as we cooked all breakfasts and several dinners during a 5 day stay with 3 adults. We experienced huge swings in weather (53F one morning and 12F the next) and during hot days the rooms were cool and during the freezing days, the older building was drafty but central heating combined with space heaters made it comfortable. The rental is conveniently located within walking distance to world class parks, museums, and MetroLink train to downtown St. Louis. A couples miles away by car is the Delmar Loop with lots of interesting shops (e.g., Vintage Vinyl) and restaurants (e.g., Corner 17). Libby is proactive and attentive host - she manages the property like a pro, making our stay feel like we were cared for and the reason we would return to one of their properties.

The apartment worked well for our family, was clean, and adequately stocked with supplies. Unfortunately, there was a lot of rain during our stay, so walking to the Delmar loop wasn't an option, and there weren't many restaurants or places to shop less than a mile away. Also, it was too early in the season for the trolley. The Metrolink was close-by, so we were able to get downtown easily.

We greatly enjoyed our apartment, and it helped us have a wonderful time in the great city of St. Louis. It is nestled in a clean, quiet neighborhood, just across from Forest Park where we spent some of our time. Parking is safe and convenient. The space felt cozy, but also roomy enough for the four of us not get in each other's hair. Beds and furniture were comfortable. The air system might sound a little loud in one of the bedrooms if you're a light sleeper. The kitchen was useful for us to prepare many of our meals, though if we stayed longer I would find it a little lacking in food prep utensils. It is renovated nicely and maintains old row-house charm. Overall we would be happy to come back to stay at Suites in the Lou!

Really cute apartment in a great part of town! Libby was wonderful, communicated quickly, check-in/out process was smooth and easy. It could use a few more/nicer kitchen items, pots/pans. But I like to cook and stayed almost two weeks, so that may be moot for most guests. Loved the location, quick access to the park, CWE, Clayton, loop, downtown, etc. And do yourself a favor and get the chicken “tenders” from Ocean Grill around the corner! The 6-piece tenders is basically an entire chicken and some of the best fried chicken I’ve ever had :)

I stayed here with my son and daughter to transition them to college at WashU. Easy access to Metro, and Forest Park - which is a beautiful location. Very reasonable prices, especially given rates at nearby stays. Comfortable beds, great kitchen and a nice sitting room to chill out in at the end of the day. Apartment has A/C which was a blessing during the hot St Louis summer! Will try to stay here in the future for any WashU needs!

Libby was incredibly well organized, we received excellent information to help with arrival, during our stay, and on leaving. The property itself was clean, well equipped, and beds were very comfortable although the pull-out couch mattress was so thin you could feel the springs through it. It's ok for a child or unfussy adult! All in all it was great for a few nights,

Our two bedroom apartment in the Suites In The Lou was perfect for our needs. It was wonderfully laid out, well decorated and well stocked. It was a very well-maintained property, clearly managed with great care. The beds were comfortable and there was almost no street noise. It was perfectly located and easy to access. The parking lot in the back was a great help and very easy to manage. Libby was very communicative and clear with her instructions before our stay, and very responsive with our one question during our stay. We highly recommend Suites In The Lou and will definitely be back for another stay!
