Ac was ok , fans helped , farthest unit from beach no view from room

The room was bigger than we expected. Very clean. We rarely used the AC as the room stayed cool. Not a lot of noise from other suites although roosters and traffic could be a problem for light sleepers. Wifi was not great so wouldn’t recommend for those who are working remotely, but location was great and would stay again!

Beautiful near ocean and pools, convenient neighborhood

The location is ideal if you want to access opposite sides of the island, walk to food trucks, best shave ice (Wailua), dozens of shops and restaurants, and you can get to Sleeping Giant in about 5 minutes if you want to watch one of the best sunrises on the planet.

Qing Qing, the owners’ daughter was just THE BEST: Friendly! Sweet! Lovely speaking voice! Also! the man who was waiting to clean up my room after I left was kind, positive & most hospitable! It was A REAL PLEASURE speaking with both of them! I arrived LATE, so I was SO GRATEFUL for her directions to the room! I am from LA by way of LAS VEGAS NEVADA, where it is WELL LIGHTED OUTSIDE AT NIGHT! I have noticed that on MAUI & KAUAI there are few if any lights on the streets at night! Also, the hotels & parking lots are not WELL LIGHTED at night! While I do appreciate the TOTAL RAW & WILD ISLAND NOCTURNAL VIBE & EXPERIENCE, these days it is DANGEROUS! Because I am a woman, usually, I am assigned a room on the 2nd, 3rd floor or above! My room was on the bottom floor! So I felt REALLY QUITE UNSAFE ARRIVING AT NIGHT! Possibly instal one or two additional lights at night for SAFETY! Room was SIMPLE! CLEAN, well supplied & NICELY DECORATED! Bed spread was PRETTY! REALLY LOVED THE CLOSE PROXIMITY TO THE BEACH just behind the lodging! MOST BEAUTIFUL BEACH! CLEAR WATER! LOUNGING CHAIRS! BLACK CRABS CRAWLING ON BLACK ROCKS! Though it looked a little shabby from the street & entering (compared to THE SUPER EXPENSIVE HOTELS) For the PRICE & MOST PERFECT PROXIMITY TO THE BEACH - LITERALLY JUST A FEW FEET FROM MY DOOR! BEST DEAL EVER! CAN NOT BEAT THAT! LOVED THE BATH TUB WITH HOT WATER! LOVED ALL THE CHICKENS & 1 cat! MUCH TOO NOISY IN THE MORNING tho! Banging & chattering outside!

Convenient shopping center walking distance

Best little place for the money. I stayed in Feb, so no air conditioning was just fine with all the fans available in the place. Dave was responsive right away whenever I texted. Nice to have a mini fridge and microwave. The bed was very comfortable and the room was clean and very basic. Just what I needed. There was no “actual” parking spot, but I never had a problem finding a place along the trees next to the building. Thank you!

Great value for the location. Good central place to be if you're planning on seeing a lot of the island. It was clean and the host was very straightforward with instructions and info. Thank you!

Easy in and out. Centrally located making either end of the island short commutesHuge bed, I got lost and had to call for help. The louvered windows brought back happy childhood memories.

The room was very clean and neat. His was very responsive and helpful. Air conditioning worked great and cooled the place down fairly quickly if you need it. There isn’t a view of the beach from the room but you could just go around the corner and down the hall and your right on the beach. Had great lounge chairs for around the pool and some on the lawn. Great ocean view I would sit on the lawn chairs and just relax. You’re able to catch the sunrise from this property as well. Perfect location about 35-40 min drive depending on time of day to the south or north shores

This place was perfect for two. It was exactly as advertised and we were thrilled. It was precisely 40 strides from the door of our ground-floor unit to the sandy beach, (I counted) and the view from the beach chairs there were spectacular. The bed and bedding was comfortable, and there were plenty of fans. We never even needed the air conditioning unit. The refrigerator, microwave, coffee pot, and the provided dishes and utensils allowed us to make many of our own meals in the room, which saved us a lot of money. The convenience of having the grocery store and a Ross directly across the street was amazing. And the Lemongrass Grill restaurant directly actually the street from the driveway was delicious. I hope to stay here again in the future.

Room ok, parking was a challenge but welcome to Kauai.

It is a nice small studio for the price, especially on Kauai. It is right on the ocean, so you can take the small 500 ft walk back, and the ocean is right there, which is beautiful. The place was well-kept and we didn't have issues. The wifi may cut out on your phone sometimes, but it's most likely due to being so close to the ocean, and it didn't happen enough to be a big issue. Overall, would stay again.

Aloha,I was expected a clean( newly washed sheet, towels,bathroom curtain..) but none of that was delivered to us.Did I mentioned the roof was leaking right above the TV from the unit above. With the cleaning fee that we had to pay, 125, I think I expected much better, cleaner room.The room has no window and may I suggested that the owner should add that in the room description( it was not mention in the room description). The owner, at first mentioned that there will be no AC for our unit due to trade wind and cool temperatures of Kauai therefore no AC needed?????Our unit look like a storage room since there are more than 4 potable fans and 2 vacuum was stored ant our unit.The bed located right at the entrance and it was so closed to our bed that my boyfriend had to sleep on the wrong side of the bed ( closed to the door) for my safety. We only stayed for 1 night but it was not an pleasant experience, unfortunately.

Clean, comfortable bed, a little noisy from adjoining rooms and street traffic, close to safeway for food , affordable.

I was extremely happy with my stay. The location was perfect right on the beach and across the street from a shopping center and restaurants. The room itself had everything you needed, comfortable bed, small kitchen area with coffee make, microwave and refrigerator

Kauai Kalani was the best location and stay that I have enjoyed in Kauai, ever. I regularly return to visit my childhood home, and I will always try to book here in the future, now that I know!
