What we loved: fully supplied kitchen, linens provided, very clean, beautifully decorated, ample room for everyone, bathrooms were spacious and updated. Wifi was easy to use. What we wish was better: the buildings should be labeled clearly as we arrived near midnight during stormy weather trying to locate the right garage. Better explanation of parking areas would be appreciated. The second spot available to you is called unmarked but it is ALSO in the garage. That was not clear. The elevator was out of order and this was a problem for my 76 year dad. He had difficulty on the stairs. The keys to the condo did not open the door easily. It was not very convenient to get onto the beach from our condo. There’s only a central entryway and if you’re coming from one of the farthest units, you have to walk all the way to the other side just to get on the beach. The “boardwalk” should have a few other open spaces to get beach access.

Loved this condo overall. Very spacious, lots of storage space, amazing views, comfy beds and couches. Appliances are very outdated - dishwasher did not clean properly, microwave completely broken, stovetop writing so worn you can’t see what burner you’re turning on. Needs a vacuum for those staying longer than 1 week. Would definitely rent this condo again though - but hope appliances are replaced ASAP.

I loved Sanctuary Resorts Va a few years ago. I cannot say I was happy with any thing this trip. Place has gone down hill for the cost of the units. We could not even get out assigned parking place.

Nice location but terribly maintained. Windows so dirty you could hardly see the ocean. We could not use our porches due to bug infestation. Lights were out, drain in master bath did not drain, air filter on hvac was so clogged that lint was hanging on the wall. No microwave. Was broken. Could be a fabulous place but simply poorly maintained. Management company was a day late getting us in due to inability to clean in time. When we got there the house was still full of sand and mold on shower curtains. My family and I have been comming down to sanctuary for years and this has indeed been the biggest disappointment. Horrible value for the $600 per night we paid.

Great location. Beautiful ocean front views. Very nice layout. Couch was so comfortable. We love staying at the Sanctuary. Only downside was there was no vacuum to get rid of the sand. We actually bought a stick vac to clean up the sand. Large microwave did not work. There was a small countertop micro.

The condo is well appointed and decorated. However, the condo was not very clean upon arrival. The kitchen counter, stovetop and microwave looked like they had been wiped down with dirty water. Two of the bathrooms are in need of some deep cleaning. Two of the bathrooms’ shower curtain liners were moldy, and the showers did not appear cleaned nor disinfected, merely wiped down. We requested new shower liners, but they never appeared. The outside balconies were filthy.

Condo is ocean front and has a beautiful view and setup. Seems to be recently renovated with quality flooring. Furniture was extremely uncomfortable and the dishwasher was terrible. As with all condos at The Sanctuary the air conditioning is horrifically loud, and unfortunately for the oceanfront condos the exhaust fan is on the larger balcony which almost makes it unusable.

Views were great, had an oceanfront unit. Access to the beach is tough with small children since there is only one beach access point. Unit was not ready on time, microwave was broken, sheets were dirty and needed washed, drains went down slowly and the unit needs a deep clean. Friends stayed on the same floor, different condo with similar issues including leaking pipes under the sink, dirty unit and were notified that due to short staffing their unit wouldn’t be available until the next day. Contacted Vacasa the first day, was promised a call back and never heard from anyone. Disappointed.

Excellent location on lovely family oriented beach; Easy access to a few stores, a few places to eat, fishing pier, and Back Bay Wildlife area meant most of the vacation could be spent right where we were staying. Spacious and nicely furnished unit. Overall the family loved this beach vacation but we give it fewer starts due to two things - Condo appliances - dishwasher, stove and washer/dryer could use updating due to functional issues. There were also a variety of property management issues noted for the Sanctuary property as a whole, however we are hopeful this may be due to transition to new management...
