My family has stayed on the Cape for over a decade. We usually get a stand alone house, so sharing a multi-unit space came with some new experiences. We’ll start with the good: the unit is well priced for the location. It’s a short walk to the beach, trading post, ice cream and the seafood market. Check in was easy, and we didn’t have any major issues, so we didn’t have to communicate with the property management company at all.We were supposed to have 6 in our group, but ended up with 2 adults and 2 teenagers. The space was adequate for the 4 of us, but would have probably been snug with 6. The unit has potential, but small things like the bathroom trash can was broken, the blow dryer was barely usable, there was no hose to rinse off for our unit (we used the neighbor’s all week), the driveway has huge potholes, that are impossible to avoid, and we definitely saw 3 LARGE cockroaches in different rooms during our stay. Others have mentioned this in their reviews, so I was prepared, but you can definitely hear every footstep of the people staying in the unit above you. And it took me awhile to get used to people walking up our porch to get to their unit (close the blinds). Luckily, they were up and moving around the same time as us, so it wasn’t too disruptive. We had intended on feeding more mouths, so we went with a cheaper place than we normally do. If we had our two older kids join us, maybe I would feel differently, but I don’t think I would book this property again.

We had a great stay at Buckeye Beach House. I was a little worried about being in a 1st floor unit with a family above us, but it really wasn’t a problem. Everyone in the adjacent units were respectful and courteous. The house was clean and well stocked with kitchen utensils and dishes. The house is just a short walk to beaches that were quiet and never crowded. I only have two small critiques of the house. The bedrooms could use some black out curtains (or just curtains in general over a few windows), because the sun is bright, very early. Also the mattress in the master bedroom is super firm. I would definitely book another stay at this house and may try to book again for our vacation next year. Thanks for sharing this home!

I would suggest ear plugs and a sleep mask. Otherwise, the furniture is great room is large and easybto fit a large family beach is amazing!

Three generations enjoyed our stay here. The grandparents, parents (that would be my husband and me) and our almost 20 year old daughter. It was very comfortable for all of us. We cooked breakfast in the condo most mornings. Walking up and down the steps helped us get some exercise in while on vacation. The king sized bed was so comfortable!! The master bedroom could use better lighting though.

That about sums it up, not as clean, not as portrayed, and although we were assured a work order would be made, not so much as a call to us was Nafe to follow up. Don’t call after hours either, the VM has no recording.

The property was great. Our only suggestion was that the owners should consider putting anti-skid strips or rubber mats in the tub/showers to guard against a possible slip on the wet surface. Otherwise, we enjoyed our stay! Thanks to owner Becky and Pristine Properties.

Very short walk to the beach BUT the beach right in front of the walk way area has very little space during high tide. There are broken columns and a concrete slab in the water. We spoke with a family that told us two houses once stood there before the hurricane in 2018. The remains of the homes in the water are not visible unless it’s low tide. Unfortunately we didn’t know they were there when we first arrived and our daughter got several scrapes on her legs from them. We walked a little ways down the beach each day to a larger beach area that was free of any sharp, dangerous objects under water. The condo space had plenty of room but looked like it could really use a deep clean and maybe some repairs. The porch area did not include the items pictured. We arrived to a settee and two arm chairs that were falling apart and cushions that had blown off the furniture from a storm and were completely soaked. There is not a swing or barstools. We were pretty bummed because our family really enjoys being outdoors and this space was not in the best condition to really be able to enjoy it. Overall, this space is okay for the cost. If I were to visit Cape San Blas again, I would likely look for a house with a safer beach area free of broken wood posts and concrete slabs. The beach a little further down was just fine but not necessarily a desirable walk with all the beach gear each day.

When we checked in, there was no toilet paper in either bathroom. No trash bags in trash cans , no hand soap and no Keurig like it said on Vrbo.
