BEACH FRONT NEWLY RENOVATED - 2BR/2BA, 12th fl.,TIKI HUT

Had an amazing time at the Pelican, we will definitely be back! Had a few issues with check in but the host was able to help and mitigate the issues for us. We will definitely be back next summer. Very clean & we enjoyed the large TV with football season.

In unit washer and dryer ruined some of our clothes.

Perfect beach getaway! We’ve been all over Florida, hell we lived there, but never Destin. So glad we took the trip, the condo, resort, beach, and area were exactly what you’re looking for when you think “Florida!” The condo has it all, feels like home. Makes it very easy to get settled and to the beach. Multiple pools, hot tubs, great access to the area, and lots of friendly guests.

We had stayed in one particular area for over 15 years. We tried Pelican Beach this year and it was amazing! We loved the property and the location!

The check in process was easy though you do have to check in at the lobby before you can park and go to your room. The unit was clean. BUT. I have stayed in dozens of VRBOs and this was by far the most stripped down unit. The kitchen was not well equipped so you will need to bring EVERYTHING. Including salt and pepper. It says the unit was recently updated but it did not seem so. The bathrooms were pretty old, the furniture was extremely stiff and uncomfortable. It says there are new mattresses in one of the rooms but my cousin who stayed in there said the bed felt like sleeping on the floor. My mattress, the King, wasn’t any better. After a week of (not) sleeping well, we are exhausted with really sore backs. The king mattress has a topper but it doesn’t fit the bed so it’s very uncomfortable. Everything in the unit felt extremely cheap including the outdoor furniture. We had hoped to have coffee on the balcony but it was very uncomfortable. The coffee make is very cheap, not automatic. The shower in the hallway has miserably low water pressure so 3 of us ended up sharing one good one. And finally, we assumed the chairs would be included in the rental and all we would need to do reserve some. Nope. 3 chairs and an umbrella was almost 400!! for the week and we were put on the 2nd row. Overall, we went hoping to relax but ended up feeling like I stayed in a dorm. Overall, the unit was clean and the hosts are nice but we were not feeling the hospitality.

We had a wonderful time here! Very family friendly, the staff was great. The room was great; had everything we needed as far as utensils, dishes, towels. The location of the condo was awesome! You really don't even need to leave the resort between the cafe and tiki bar. The pools and hot tubs were clean and not crowded. The tiki bar was reasonably priced between drinks and food. The cafe breakfast was delicious and reasonably priced as well. The only 2 complaints we had was that the master beds mattress topper wasn't long enough so either our pillows were down in a divot, or our feet were hanging off. The other complaint had nothing to do with the actual room it was that one elevator was being remodeled so sometimes it took foreverrrrr for an elevator and we were on the 12th floor, so we didn't want to take the steps. Overall, I would 10/10 recommend this condo, we had a great time!

The condo was just as described, newly decorated, great location and clean! It's nice that it's close to everything but set back off the main road so it's quiet. I wasn't sure about being on the 12th floor but it turned out to be really great because there was no noise from the pools or beach and with 4 elevators going to the lobby and an additional elevator going down to the cafe area, it was quick and easy to get downstairs. This was our family's favorite Emerald Coast and overall vacation to date and we will definitely stay here again!

If you want to bring your personal beach chairs you have to sit behind the rentals, which isn’t normally a problem. However, they now have 5 rows of rentals so when you set up your beach chairs, you can’t even see the water.

We have stayed at pelican beach resort 4 times now but this was our first time in this unit! It was very clean, beautiful and great for our family with 3 young kids! We will definitely be back!
