Stayed Oct 6, 2023Near a Fado house at the top of a sharp incline, our apartment had been switched from our original choice a few days before. We did not get the balcony with the view we wanted but got a little terrace between walls which we also enjoyed. Air conditioning was top notch during a heat wave. The showers leaked badly so we needed to throw down towels. Garbage in bathroom had not been emptied and floor was not immaculate. We loved our stay anyway,especially the show at the Fado house.

Stayed Jul 10, 2023We mostly loved the place, it’s a nice location in that it’s just above the old town no more than 6 minutes walk. It was clean, beds were good and blackout shades kept it cool as there is no AC. Could be an issue on very warm days. Outside back patio could use a cleaning by the owners, pigeons have roosted above the unit making it a bit messy out there. There are around 50-55 steps up to the unit from old town so be prepared for that. Also, unit is on the 1st floor up one flight of stairs so be aware of that. Joel was a great host, he also has an excellent name. Would overall very much recommend staying here if you need multiple bedrooms on your visit to Coimbra.

Stayed May 23, 2023We arrived during exuberant graduation celebrations for the University of Coimbra. It was tremendous fun to be in town for this big party! Joel was incredibly helpful as we were trying to drive into the middle of town during a big parade! The unit is large and was very clean. We were in the middle of our trip and appreciated having the washing machine! The location is terrific -- just a few minutes walk to great cafes and restaurants. Highly recommend!
