We had a great weekend getaway at The Lookout! There were 8 adults and we all loved the property. My husband and I were pleasantly surprised at how comfortable (and firm) the king bed was! We hate soft beds. Everyone else said the beds were great too. The ice maker and fridge were remarkably cold which we were a pleasant surprise (a rental with a good ice machine?! Wow!). I also read a review that the deck was dangerous which i totally disagree with. It was weathered, but structurally sound 100%. I dont know why people thought it wasn't sturdy. We saw no bugs inside whatsoever which is hard for a house set in the woods. The grill worked well, the AC worked really well upstairs and down, hot tub was super hot, honestly everything exceeded our expectations for a cozy, relaxed rental! If i had any critiques, one couch was quite old and worn and the outside trash cans might be small for an extended stay or lots of guests. We really had a great time and were so pleased with everything! Thank you for a great time!
The house wasn't clean and it had huge cockroaches The balcony is old and dangerous. the dog walked on the balcony and it shook. Underneath the balcony the foundation/ beams are split in many places. We submitted photos. THE BEDS WERE THE WORST. We left early due to our aching bodies from the springs in the mattress ALL OF THEM! The ceiling fan light fell down and almost hit me in the head. I was offered a refund then the cost went up so they don't want to give hardly anything back. Sad Bad Business
We really enjoyed our stay. The location was idea for what our family loves to do - ski and boat on the lake. Everything in house was as advertised.
Our trip wasn’t for pleasure, other than the steep driveway the house was just fine for us
We loved it. Stayed here for a wedding, and it was perfect for a group.
I loved the views and the house had a lot of fun things to do. We loved the pool table and hot tub. House is close to the city but very remote. Communication with property manager was easy and fast. There were some broken/loose furniture and the deck didn’t look too safe.
We love the area .
Nice stay for a family of 8 adults and one dog! As noted in some of the reviews you can hear the road but it wasn’t a bother. The spacious second floor was comfortable and it was easy to prepare meals and eat together. We visited the Appalachian Center for Craft galleries and Harmony Lane Farm. I highly recommend both of those places.
We stayed here with our four kids (ages 7-15) for fall break. The location was great and the views are beautiful. We enjoyed the fire pit( although it would have been nice if there was a lighter in the house to light it- we used the grill to light a stick then get the fire going). The kids were in the hot tub every day and we all enjoyed the pool table. The back bedroom to the right past the stairs when you walk in could use a new mattress. It was way too soft, and sunk in toward the middle. Overall, we had a great time and would come back again.
We had 8 adult family members use this as our base camp for a week. Many beautiful waterfalls around to hike, visited wineries distilleries, toured a cave, and visited Nashville. Very nice house. We were able to cook a few meals and they had great selection of pots and pans.
The property was great and provided everything the listing said was included. The only thing I would warn others about is the overly steep driveway. We would have rented a different vehicle if we would have known the driveway was straight up and down with a narrow turn at the top. We made it work but it was definitely difficult with our 8 passenger car, and I would ensure that the tires are good on whatever car you rent so you can make it up the steep drive without trouble.
A few hiccups but the management company was very helpful and responsive. The house and furniture are a bit dated but we had everything we needed. We cooked each night and kitchen is well stocked. Great view of lake. Space to spread out a bit and relax.
The house is up on a hill surrounded by trees. Very private. The roads a little noisy but the privacy makes up for it. With the hot tub, big deck and pool table it’s a great place to unwind after hiking or being on the water.
The proximity to lake access is amazing. Honestly, you can’t be much closer aside from having a home right next to the water which isn’t allowed at center hill. Views from the top floor are great for both sunrises and sunsets. The kitchen was well equipped and functional. Having the pool table was a nice touch. Just a few improvement notes: since it’s dog friendly, the wear and tear on carpet and couches are more prominent. Also as others have mentioned, the driveway is super steep but manageable if you shift to a lower gear.
Everything about this house is as described. Managment is wonderful and accommodating. They are quick to handle any concerns. The views are great - pictures do not do justice!
