Our lake has a upgraded multi-million dollar boat concreted launch ramp, which will be perfect to put in your ski boat, sailboat, or fishing boat. As it's a drinking water reservoir, jet skis and sea-doos are not allowed. Calif. State Mussel inspection in force.
The San Francisco Chronicle newspaper has described our lake (which is called Scott's Flat Reservoir), as one of the Sierra Nevada's best kept secrets.
At approximately 760 acres, the lake is roughly 3 1/2 X 1 mile long with up to 7 miles of shoreline. It is actually large enough that a resident fleet of sailboats can dot the water's surface during the sailing season. Most mornings, the lake's water is like glass.....
Wildlife and solitude abound here. Bald eagles, ospreys, geese, deer and coyotes are residents here along with the occasional bear, mountain lion, bobcat and fox. Watch where you step!
A local community store is within easy walking distance (perfect for the morning or an after dinner stroll). Downtown Nevada City is approximately 10 - 12 minutes away by car.
Most days and nights (with the exception of the boating season), there can be little to no noise except the wind in the trees. It's hard to describe that to those that live in a world of 'white noise'.

This was our first family vacation with our grandson. We had ages 6 months to 91(was accommodating to handicap-able). Everyone had a great time! We played in the lake, hiked, went to Nevada City for an outing, listened to live music at the dock (not sure if that was a one time deal or not) went in the hot tub, and just hung out. It was a lot fun and very relaxing. When we had questions, they were readily available and quick to help. The only thing we didn’t expect was having to remove our shoes before entering the house. Not a big deal but it would have been nice to know so some of us could prepare that didn’t want to wear what was provided. All in all, wonderful time! Recommend for any family of all ages!
This cozy house is well stocked with all of the essentials, has comfy beds, and is located in a beautiful forrested area near a lake. We were even greeted with fresh flowers and a chilled bottle of wine! Great choice for a girl's retreat!
Very good
This house is well looked out for, hot tub was clean, and located conveniently close to the lake. Great communication with the host. Thank you!
Amazing! We absolutely loved our time there. We had a family barbecue on the deck and walked down to the lake for daily swim/play time. It was quiet and peaceful while not being too far out of town. I was worried about the heat being August in the mountains, but it was cool and lovely. I actually needed an extra blanket one night. Which leads me to the beds - super comfy! I slept better here than I have in my own bed lately TBH. We had a wonderful time and the hosts were very accommodating. Highly recommend.
What a great getaway! Cabin was perfect for our family for the 4th. Plenty of rooms and the hosts thought of everything. And I mean everything! We ran out of baby wipes and even those were available. Walk down to the lake which was gorgeous. Hosts were very accommodating when we needed to extend our stay by a day and even a few hours on the last day. We so appreciated it!
We absolutely loved our stay at Camp Run-A-Muck. We came to celebrate a wedding that was nearby. It was the perfect home base. Comfy beds, lots of amenities, and very responsive and helpful owners!
We had 2 infants, 8 adults and 2 dogs in our group. The property accommodated all of us comfortably. The lake was a short walk and a *little* treacherous with the babies, there was a tree that has fallen in the middle of the walkway right by the water so we had to be careful passing the babies over while we climbed under. The water was PERFECT and the beach was not too busy at any point. The house was well stocked with towels, spices and a working grill. We were worried it might be too hot without AC but the house actually stayed pretty cool throughout the day. All in all, a wonderful weekend vacation. Can’t recommend the place enough.
Our family had a blast at Camp Run-a-muck!
This is one of the best equipped homes that you could stay at. It's located a couple of blocks from the Lake and the area is absolutely beautiful. Because it was just my brothers and I that needed a place to stay so that we could watch my son's band perform in Nevada City, we barely scratched the surface in enjoying the setting and all of the wonderful amenities that this home has to offer. TV's, Game Stations and a wonderfully decorated home from top to bottom that makes you feel like you are right at home. Many Lake activities and only 15 minutes away from Historic Downtown Nevada City and easily drivable to many of the other attractions in the area such as the Empire Mine and some of the Cave structures. Super large deck complete with a bowl of peanuts to feed the Birds and Squirrels. You could spend half your trip relaxing with your new animal friends. The ad pretty much says it all. Highly recommended.
