This one-bedroom Otter Rock vacation rental is an endearing haven that's fitting for a casual weekend getaway with friends or a memorable family vacation. Satiate your need for nature and experience the captivating beauty of the South Oregon Coast at this oceanside chalet.
This charming loft is part of the idyllic Alpine Chalets community, a cluster of A-Frame cottages perched on a bluff above gorgeous Beverly Beach. A five-minute walk down the private trail leads to a long stretch of sand that extends all the way south to the historic Yaquina Head Lighthouse. Bask in the sunshine on the sandy beach in summer or catch glimpses of magnificent whales in the winter or spring! Newport is just eight miles south and features an array of restaurants and activities such as the Oregon Coast Aquarium.
Inside the chalet, you'll encounter shabby-chic beach charm at its best. The cozy living room features wood paneled walls, a big western-facing window, and wood ceiling beams. It's a comfortable place to relax after an exhausting day of building sandcastles, flying kites on the beach or exploring tide pools at Devils Punch Bowl State Park.
Sink into the plush deep green armchairs or curl up on the colorfully-patterned couch to watch some movies - there's a DVD player and VCR for you to use. Cable is also included so you don't have to miss the latest episode of your favorite show. Gaze out the window for a stunning view of winter storms over the Pacific, or open the blinds to let the sunshine in on a summer day.
The living room opens into the full kitchen, which is well-stocked and ready for your breakfast, lunch, and dinner preparations. Cook and share meals together at the dining room table that seats four. All of the major appliances including a refrigerator, stove-top/oven and microwave are present and accounted for except a dishwasher. But, there is a coffee grinder to make your morning cup of brew with freshly ground beans. And Mo's West is a few blocks away where you can devour bowls of world famous clam chowder on nights when you don't feel like cooking or washing dishes.
When the sun has set and no one can keep their eyes open, beds are available to offer everyone peaceful respite from the day's activities. For guests who desire a bit more privacy or don't care to climb the stairs, a cozy bedroom is downstairs right off the living room. This darling room has a queen-sized bed with bright cheerful bedding and a wooden dresser to store your belongings. There is also a full bathroom on the main floor.
The loft upstairs is ideal to ensure the kids aren't cooped up in cramped quarters. This bright and open area has two twin beds on one side, and a queen-sized bed in the opposite corner of the loft. A warm space, the upstairs guests will be treated to reading lamps, bedside tables, a second TV and the soft glow of natural light shining through the windows. For added convenience, there's also a half bathroom on this level.
This well-designed Oregon Coast vacation rental will comfortably sleep up to six guests. And although you are only 100 feet from white foaming ocean waves, Wi-Fi is available in this home so you can meet your deadline at work or catch up on emails.
Fill your senses with the natural beauty and tranquility of the Oregon Coast during your stay at this enticing chalet!

I loved the cabin and location to the beach.
This is our 3rd time staying in one of the Alpine Chalets and was the cleanest one yet! Wish I could give 5 stars but had a few issues. Emailed the contact posted on the fridge but never heard back. Wifi wouldn’t let us on neither password that was given worked, upstairs bathroom toilet won’t flush unless you take off tank lid and manually flush it and when we arrived late at night the key box was wide open with the key just sitting there for anyone to take. All that being said I would 100% stay here again.
Clean, comfortable, and quiet. We really enjoyed our stay and we will definitely be back.
Beach access, cozy little home. we loved it!!
Considering it has is short walk down the hill from the Pacific Ocean we definitely look at this booking through rose colored glasses. The house is a bit old, and it shows in some places, but for the most part it has been very well maintained and updated. The shower works great, and the kids loved the space. Also we were able to walk over to the Devil's punchbowl which was cool and convenient. It doesn't matter very often in a Vrbo, but our interactions with the staff were fantastic. They were very warm, welcoming, and helpful. ...and it's a short walk from the beach and the wild Pacific Ocean. I wish I could give it 4.5 stars. 4 seems too low, 5 too high. We had a great time.
Cabin supported our visit very well.
Property needs updating, sofa needs replacement… and I don’t think they go through and ever do a deep clean. The linens were fresh and clean, floor was clean but surfaces were very dusty, blinds were very dirty, and DVD player didn’t work.. Smoke alarm went off at 1am due to a dead battery. Vacasa management not great to deal with and this hasn’t been our first time with issues from them
The location is amazing. Beautiful beach and short walk on a gorgeous trail to the beach. The house is super basic, outdated, and a little uncomfortable. It was fine and clean but you could spend the same amount at an updated and comfortable hotel. The bedding here was bad and just all kinds of mold and rust in certain areas. If you don't mind a little rustic, this place is for you.
My family and I loved staying here! The cabin is super cute and comfortable for our family of 4. It was very clean when we arrived and everything functioned properly- no issues with drains not working or anything like that. The grounds are beautifully landscaped and there is a view from the parking área (and from the front window of cabin 4) of the ocean. Be aware that the path down to the beach is a bit steep. So while the cabins themselves are accessible for folks with mobility issues, the beach is not. Overall we were very happy with our stay and would love to come back next year- hopefully for longer than just two nights!
I took my two grandkids ages 10 and 14, to the coast for 3 days and stayed at the Alpine Chalet. The place is adorable, and just perfect for a fun get away! Very clean, close to the beach, and friendly people.
This property is very unique! My kids loved the loft bedrooms upstairs and we appreciated the full kitchen and comfy living room chairs. Also loved the small glimpse of the ocean from our windows and the private access down to the coast! We enjoyed the beach and tide pools within walking distance. The property is clean and well kept but isn’t brand new. Some has been updated but much hasn’t. Wasn’t a big hdeal for us, but does tend to make the place feel less fresh and clean. We also enjoyed being so close to attractions like devils punchbowl and depoe bay.
We stayed with 2 adults and 3 teenagers and it was just right. The ladder to the loft is steep but the kids didn't seem to mind. The place had all we needed to cook and be comfortable. The wifi was a bit spotty but that seemed to be the norm for the internet in the area in general.
Clean and recently renovated. The grounds were beautiful and the beach access, while a steep hike, is quite nice.
#4 chalet was a fairly comfortable place to stay for about a week. We had a group of 5. Pros: fairly family friendly, own kitchen, nice ocean views (sound of the ocean from the upstairs loft was fabulous at night), private, the staff are quite friendly and answered the questions we had, and budget friendly. Cons: mildew/mold (notice beam above shower- looked like black mold, and beams in upstairs loft area- looks like paint smears but is definitely growing), and could have used a deeper cleaning (under/behind furniture, stairs to loft). Food for thought: The trek to the beach could be rough for some. It is quite steep (just a heads up for those looking to book this place). There are 3 different landings on the way down to the beach that people can stop and hang out at (fire pits, picnic tables, bench, and swing set -didnt get a good look at swings they looked rough but could have just been weathered). Did really wish there was a community washer/dryer - as a family with small kids running back and forth between the house and beach we would have appreciated this (we had to cruise to Newport to the laundromat. No biggie but inconvenient) I did enjoy staying here. We spent most of our time out and about or at the beach. I would definitely rebook in the future if the mold/mildew issue was remedied.
Nice cabins and well kept property. Very pet friendly.
