Ocean Shores, Washington
*Newly renovated chalet*
Tidal House offers a convenient location and a cozy atmosphere. This recently remodeled 1960's chalet is the perfect beach getaway! Walk to the beach on beautiful sunny days and enjoy watching the deer graze in the grass right outside your window!
CHECK-IN/CHECK-OUT
Our check-in time is at 3:00 PM, and our check-out is at 11:00 AM. We have strict cleaning protocols for our cleaning crew and cannot be flexible with early check-in or late check-outs.
NO PARTIES
We ask that guests do not have parties and keep noise levels to a minimum out of consideration for the neighbors. We strive to provide a peaceful getaway near the beach. Quiet hours after 10 pm.
FIRES
We currently do not allow bonfires on the property.
SAND
We also suggest removing shoes at the door after a visit to the beach to avoid excessive sand in the chalet.
ELECTRIC CAR CHARGING
Electric car charging on the property is not permissible as it could provide a safety hazard. The electrical systems are not set up for car charging. The closest EV car charging 3.9 miles away at Quinault Beach Resort and Casino.
We won't be available on-site but we check our messages frequently and will be available to communicate during your stay if any issues arise or if you have questions.
Tidal House is in the heart of Ocean Shores, surrounded by other lodging businesses, and is within walking distance to the beach, shopping (including a supermarket if you need to stock your fridge), bike rentals, and restaurants. Additionally, it is just a one-minute drive from the main beach access point.
During your stay, if you listen closely you'll be able to hear the waves inside from the chalet.
Enjoy the wildlife! There's a high deer population in Ocean Shores and you're likely to experience several sightings during your stay... sometimes even right outside your window!
This unit is part of a 1960's chalet-style duplex. Guests have a private entrance and full private use of their chalet. Unit access is provided via digital key code, so you can directly access it upon your check-in time.
Guests receive one parking space directly next to the entrance to their unit.
Expecting visitors
Additional visitor parking is located on the south side of the property (near the Grey Gull). Please ensure that your visitors do not park in spaces designated for neighboring units.
STEEP STAIRCASE
Please note that the staircase in this unit is very steep. Guests must use the handrail when going up the stairs.
SLEEPING ARRANGEMENT
Please be aware that the main sleeping area is on the 2nd level.
This chalet sleeps up to 4 individuals upstairs in the bedrooms and can sleep up to 2 more within the pull-out sofa. The chalet includes two spaces upstairs, one with a king bed and the other with a queen bed. One space upstairs is in an open concept at the top of the stairs. The other room has a door that closes, but the ceiling is open between the two rooms (so it's not soundproof). Additionally, the couch on the first floor turns into a queen day bed allowing sleeping for two guests.
FIREPLACE NOTE
The fireplace is not functioning, but we have electric candles (with a remote) that provide a nice ambiance.
KITCHEN
The Chalet includes a full-size range, dinnerware, pots and pans, a microwave, and a medium-sized refrigerator + freezer.
DUPLEX
Please note that these are duplexes, so the walls are shared with one other guest.
The beach is within easy walking distance. If you'd prefer to drive to the beach, it's about a one-minute drive to the main beach access road on W Chance A La Mer NW. There is free parking just before the beach with public restrooms or, during most of the year, driving and parking on the beach are allowed. Yes, you read that right: You can drive on the beach! If you choose to drive on the beach, be cautious. Be sure to stay out of the soft stand and plan for the tides if you plan to leave your vehicle unattended for a while. Getting your vehicle stuck in the sand and/or water is never fun!
Taxi service and Uber are available and there is also a nearby bike rental store.
Fantastic stay. Everything was close.
The property was great! Nice area and it was very clean upon our arrival. We appreciated the snacks and amenities included. It was perfect for our weekend getaway, I’d definitely stay here again!
Nice little space. Close to beach
What a wonderful stay ! It was clean and stocked for our stay ! Was in touch with owners they were fantastic!! Would absolutely stay here again !!!!
Great location to the beach and activities.
We enjoyed our time here. Easy walk to the beach and shops. Very quiet as it is slightly removed from the noisy center of town. Only comment was that the unit was slightly musty smelling upon our arrival. Went away shortly as we opened some windows. Would recommend
Owners gave us all the info we needed. We were soaked and cold from a day outside and after turning on all the heaters we were dry and cozy. Had just enough kitchen implements to cook a nice dinner. Beds were comfy!
Good for the money. Owners very responsive!
Very relaxing stay, close to everything
Clean property, close to the beach. Main issues were keypad not working, so we had to keep the spare key on us and I had to communicate with the rental manager upon arrival to get in (not terribly inconvenient). It is cold in there and even with the heating element upstairs, it took a while to get the place to a comfortable temperature. The hot water heater probably needs replaced, only one of us had hot water for showers in the morning.
Tidal house is wonderful! The path to the beach is currently flooded, and there was no hot water on our last morning to shower, but otherwise it is very cute and a great location.
I stayed there with my kids, all adults, over the weekend. Really enjoyed it.
We had a wonderful stay at Tidal House #6. We arrived on a Sunday, were able to get in right away and the home was what I had expected. Pros and Cons, but overall we were very satisfied with our stay and the convenience the home afforded us with its location. We would return. The beds were so comfortable.
The check in process and communication was fine, but the listing shows a clean and cute condo. What we got was a condo with a serious humidity problem (that made the whole place smell like old wet dog), cobwebs in the shower, sticky floors, mildew smelling kitchen drawers that had a layer of grime on the outside, and an overall uncomfortable place to be. My wife and I ended up leaving after one night (of three planned) because it was immensely uncomfortable to be in a place that made our personal items smell and we questioned if any surfaces were sanitary. To add to the smell, humidity, and general cleanliness concerns, the shower diverter valve was broken and created a half-working shower experience. The lot surrounding the condo was strewn with trash, including right outside the (very dirty) windows. Overall, I would not recommend this property to anyone; pay a bit more for another location or go to the cheapest hotel in town and you’ll likely have a better experience.
Such a great location! Would definitely stay here again. Was a perfect spot for friends looking to have an awesome time!
Nice and clean, close to OS 'downtown'.
Nice little place, clean, nice beds, sleeper coach, nice towels. No view of the ocean due to the trees, about a 1/2 mile walk to the beach using the public access path one block away. Amount of dishes is only for 4 people.
The location was great, near the beach about a 5 minute walk from the main ocean shores beach entrance. The home was overall as shown, except for a few minor things. The carpet had a weird sticky residue when you walked over it and found a couple spiders, so be careful. The kitchen was great and a perfect size for 5 people. This home is part of a duplex type, so you share a wall with other guests. Was not expecting that, but that wasn't an issue for us. Quick and easy check-in and check-out. Overall, a great getaway to Ocean Shores.
It was nice being close to the beach. It was a good location in Ocean Shores and only a short drive to the Jetty and other things to explore. Wish the kitchen had a few more supplies. The main hall light upstairs did not work. The bed and pillows could have been more comfortable. Other than that, it was a nice place to rent. Perhaps a place we will return to rent in future.
Reason for the trip to Ocean Shores was to go razor clam digging. Having the kitchen with a refrigerator made storing the cleaned clams very simple, when we had a total of 80 clams each of three days. The location of the chalet was convenient and quiet. It made it easy to walk the dog, by stepping out the door. Parking outside the door was very convenient, as my dog preferred to remain in the car at times. Loved the dark out shades, they provided additional privacy.
