The house was clean and rather well furnished. The foto of the outside of the house came in late and the road could be noisy. The owner was cooperative in her VRBO communication. However, the mattress was very uncomfortable and hindered a sound sleep. Not worth even one star.

This is the first time we have stayed in a log cabin styled house and after getting our bearings we found it totally charming. All amenities are provided and the living area is really comfortable. The garden is even better than suggested by the photos with a natural feel yet well maintained with lots of space and interesting nooks and crannies. We spent a lot of time in it in the lovely weather we had. Our dog had a great time in a totally secure area (important as there is a intermittently busy road next to the house) and I imagine it would be perfect for children. We found the town of Veules to be charming, interesting and full of roses! The house is within about a mile of the centre and seafront and we were able to walk to the shops and restaurants in the evening. The use of a bike meant a quick return trip for the morning baguette and we walked along the famous river everyday. There were enough eating places for us but the choice was more limited midweek as we were just out of season. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and grew more and more fond of our delightful accommodation as the week wore on. Caroline was a perfect host who did everything to make our stay enjoyable and we would not hesitate to return one day.
