Schloss Linderhof is a charming ski chalet nestled onto the mountainside just behind 'Storyland' in Glen, NH. In summer, you can hear the sounds of the train and other activities at Storyland while enjoying coffee on the deck in the morning. In winter, you can easily access skiing at 5 ski areas in the Mt. Washington Valley.
The home is air-conditioned in summer but the cool mountain breezes often provide natural climate control.
In winter, the home is heated with two Rinnai monitorheaters and a large fireplace provides both ambiance and warmth apres ski. Wireless Internet and cable TV are also provided.
Ample shopping is available at the nearby outlets in North Conway.

I look forward to making your stay in the Mount Washington Valley an enjoyable one.
PLEASE SCROLL ALL THE WAY DOWN TO CHECK MY RESERVATION CALENDAR TO SEE IF YOUR DATES ARE OPEN. I HOPE THEY ARE!

The chalet is part of the way up the side of Christmas Mountain. The roads are all pavement and they are well plowed/sanded in winter. Guests can access the house with any vehicle. There is a taxi service in North Conway that some of our guests have used with success.

Jackson Village is just north of the chalet. In Jackson, you will find a scenic covered bridge, Jackson Falls, village shopping and great restaurants (including the Wildcat Tavern, Yesterdays and the Red Fox). Just south of the chalet at the intersection of 16/302, you will find the Red Parka Pub and Glen Junction). North Conway is a quick drive south with hundreds of shopping outlets as well as excellent local restaurants. You can find water slides, Mount Washington (accessible by car or train), horseback riding, as well as Storyland (right at the base of the mountain!) all in the surrounding area. Santa's Village and Six Gun City are a scenic drive away (approximately 1 hour).

New Hampshire is known for the beauty of nature. We have been clearing trees in recent years and there are 4 season views of the mountains from the deck. Enjoy a morning coffee and watch daylight spread over the mountains. Waterfalls and beautiful mountain hiking trails are to many the best part of New Hampshire...and they are free. There are many easily hiked trails for young families as well as more complex trail systems for experts. Local ranger stations have trail maps and other information ready to hand out. The chalet provides easy access to

Ski:
Enjoy the view of the slopes at Attitash/Bear Peak (north on 302) and then hop in your car and drive there in 5 minutes! You can find a great variety of trails available as well as lessons and daycare. Cranmore Mountain (south of Route 302) is about 10 minutes away and they offer a great day of skiing for a great price. Cranmore also has a great tubing park for non-skiers. Black Mountain (north on 16) is 5 minutes away in quaint Jackson Village. Black is perfect for a young family and offers a great family value pass for lift tickets. Scenic Bretton Woods (north on 302) about 25 minutes drive up Route 302. It is well worth the trip since there are multiple high speed quads and a new base lodge with many luxuries. Wildcat (north on Route 16) is close by as well and offers skiing for many abilities. Jackson Cross country ski trails are close and offer some awesome scenery as you glide through the village and by the river. Even though there may not be snow in other areas of New England, the White Mountains are known for ample snow and great skiing.

Golf:
You can find many golf courses in the area, including at the Wentworth just north in Jackson.

Other Activities:
Many of the local ski areas also have alpine slides, water slide and zip lines that are open in the summer. We have a book at the chalet that includes up to day information on local area activities.

This was the perfect ski Chalet for our family of 4 and John was the perfect host!!The home is in the mountains and quiet, but also in a convenient location. It is close to several ski mountains - Attitash/Bear, Wildcat, Black, Cranmore, and Bretton Woods. We visited ALL of them in the 5 full days we enjoyed there! When back at the Chalet, we enjoyed a A-frame great room - a fully equipped kitchen, dining room, and adjoining, lovely family room with very comfortable seating, mountain views, and a wonderful, crackling fire in the fireplace. The people there are extremely friendly, kind, and fun. The restaurants are all very good as well. Most of all, our host, John, was a superb communicator and guided us with his vast knowledge of the area to an excellent vacation. He helped when needed, but offered total space and privacy when not. Again, the perfect host.We hope to visit again soon, not only for skiing, but for hiking, fishing, and just clean, fresh air during the summer and fall.A wonderful stay!!

We spent the weekend at the chalet which is perfectly positioned near North Conway, with plenty of sleeping area a nice living/dining room, and outside porch to grill and chill. John was a great host, very responsive and friendly and made the stay a piece of cake. Thanks!

I Just got home and had to leave a review right away . By far best Vrbo I’ve ever rented. Perfect spot. So convenient. The house was so cozy, clean, and comfortable. John has the house stocked with anything you need and then some. None of us wanted to ever leave . Nature at its finest . Bears , deer, and birds watching right from our porch. We can’t wait to return. Thank you John you made our stay amazing .

Behind Storyland was a fantastic stay. Storyland was our planned destination along a bit of sightseeing in the area for a long weekend. The home had perfect accommodations for our extended family of 6 adults and two small children (ages 1 1/2 -3 1/2). We brought everything we needed for the small children (pack n play, bed side rail) so sleeping was peaceful and familiar. John has thought of everything one would need to have a comfortable time away from home. It was clean, cozy and the deck was great for sitting out to get some fresh air. Our weekend was short, but we would definitely stay here again if we have the chance to come to the area again.

If you're looking for a convenient place to stay for a visit at Storyland...I would highly recommend what my grandchildren refer to as John's house. We've stayed there for 3 consecutive years now when we visit Storyland. The home is literally on the hill behind Storyland so we can enjoy the park, buzz home for lunch/naps for kids and back to Storyland. The house is very clean with lots of sleeping options. Very well stocked home, with most everything you could need for your stay. John is the best host/communicator. Always checking in to make sure all is well. We hope to be back again next year, for our 4th yearly grandchildren trip to Storyland!

John was amazing with his communication, quick responses, and attention to every detail a renter could possibly need to know. The house was adorable and one of the cleanest VRBO’s I have ever stayed in. Perfect size for 4 people and a great location to hiking trails. We will definitely rent this place again should we return to the area for more hiking.

This was a wonderful place to stay. We had 3 generations including a 5-year-old and an 11-month-old. The house was clean, comfortable, and very well-equipped. The only downside was it was really tight setting up a pack-and-play in the bedrooms for the infant. Story Land is two minutes away. John was a great host, very responsive, and pleasant to work with. We’re already thinking of doing this again next year!

We stayed here for Columbus Day weekend. We went to Storyland’s Happy Hauntings. When we got to the house there was no power. It was a very windy day. I texted John to let him know there was no power. After dropping off our bags we went to dinner to get something warm to eat. After returning the power was still off. We were going to start a fire in the fireplace because it was getting cold. While we were getting wood the power came on. I notified John. We turned on the heat and the house got all nice and warm. The beds were nice and comfortable. The bathrooms were nice and clean. The kitchen had everything you needed.the second night there we cooked in the kitchen. The house was very clean and had everything we needed. We had a great time. Would definitely stay again. John was great with communication and checked in on us to make sure we were all set after the power came on. Overall an amazing place to stay. Thank you

Almost everything about this property was incredible. Communication with the owner was easy and so helpful, location was superb (we went to Storyland and it's a 3 minute ride), it was very clean and and full of things we'd need for a great stay. The only issue and the reason for 4 stars was the comfort of the beds. Except for the bunk beds where the little ones slept, all the beds were pretty uncomfortable. If I could deduct 1/2 a star for this I would cause it's really a very nice place. Aside from the beds we loved it and had a wonderful time.

There are not enough adjectives in the English language to significantly describe the wonderful experience of staying at this property. There were enough things to do in the neaby town of Conway so as not to be bored, but far enough away from town to be thoroughly relaxing. We would definitely stay here again.
