For the more adventurous - check out this hike in only cabin int he middle of Whiterock Conservancy! 805 River Cabin was moved into the valley from 805 Main Street, Coon Rapids, many years ago. This primitive cabin sits between a spring-fed pond and the Middle Raccoon River in a beautiful, yet secluded valley teeming with wildlife. Deer, wild turkey, coyote, beaver, and songbirds fill the surrounding woods and nearby clearing.
The property includes an old-fashioned outhouse and a warm weather solar shower. No electricity and no potable water. This site is designated strictly as a hike-in site - it is approximately 1 mile from the main campgrounds following the river. The 3-season cabin includes a small bedroom area, a living/sitting room, an upstairs loft and a small kitchen area. Six single size platforms with sleeping pads are provided but you will want your own sleeping bags. Screen windows are covered with shutters. A small table, chairs and a lantern are provided. Bring your fishing poles to catch dinner in the backyard pond. A picnic table, fire ring, and clothes line are provided. For the safety of the surrounding woodlands, please do not bring your own firewood. Locally- harvested firewood is available on site for a minimal fee. Dogs are welcome at 805 River Cabin. Horses can also be kept at the cabin either in one of the two pens, on the tie line or by closing the gate and allowing them to roam within the small fenced in area surrounding the cabin. Absolutely NO ATVs allowed. Park your vehicle at the River Campground for easy hike-in access or you can rent one of our Gator's to help move your stuff (weather permitting). It was overall a fun trip only downside had wasps in the shower in the front door
