We really enjoyed our stay here. The property was VERY clean and had everything you’d need and more! Who doesn’t leave for a getaway and forget something small and this place had all the little things. It was peaceful and while there are train tracks they didn’t bother us. The screened porch was so wonderful and our favorite feature!

Cabin is in a great location and right on the river. There is an huge deck with an enclosed section that’s really nice. Owner is not lying when he says that there are active train tracks very nearby. Cabin is basic but clean and the beds are very comfortable. Owner was super responsive and helpful. Would return.

Very relaxing and surprisingly quiet when the trains aren't running by. My mother and I came here to get some early fall colors and explore the area. There were definitely a lot of bugs present, both inside and outside. Other than that downside everything else was fairly enjoyable. We made breakfast one day and grilled out for dinner another day and all the amenities were present, including some basic spices. This property was definitely right in the center of everywhere we wanted to explore which made this perfect for us. Would certainly recommend to anyone wanting to enjoy time by the Mississippi River and the driftless area.

This place was perfect for our little getaway. Short drive to everywhere we wanted to go (Harper's Ferry, Marquette, PDC, Effigy Mounds). Perfectly situated on the river with a dock for our jet ski and for fishing. Very clean and we loved the screened in deck! Would stay again!

The house was the perfect size for the four of us. (You could easily have 6-8 people.) We loved being able to walk down to the dock and fish. The second night there we caught lots of fish! The only downfall was that there wasn't any seating on the dock. Next time we'll bring our own chairs to take down with us.There is a big patio with a grill and a nice table and chair set to sit at and enjoy the outdoors and even a screened in back patio where we sat and enjoyed supper. The kitchen was stocked with all the things. The bathroom also had lots of great stuff. (Shampoo, conditioner, body wash, handsoap, air freshener, etc.)Overall a great place to stay! We can't wait to go back this fall!

My husband and I took a last-minute getaway for his birthday. The home was really nice and right on the river. It was a quiet area for the exception of the train which was no bother. The property was near state land which allowed us to do some hiking. Just a 20 minute drive into town for restaurants and shopping.

Unfortunately, the weather turned cold the day we arrived, and was cold for the duration of our stay, so we were unable to use the nice deck area. In warmer weather, it would have been a great place to hang out. The beds were comfortable, and it was adequately heated. We did some fishing off the dock, and caught a nice bass.

Yes, as others have said, There are trains. It's the price you pay to be on the river. Wake early to see God hand-paint the sky and magnify His work with reflection on the water, or sleep in and let eagles on the island across be your alarm clock. Then watch them grab breakfast from the river. Maybe the formation of geese flying low on the river will be your morning smile or possibly swallows swooping and darting will make your heart race. Then later, you may see six vultures... wait... white heads, make that six bald eagles circling overhead. Perhaps, the quiet strength of the mighty Mississippi will bring you peace. Did you know 1.6 million gallons flows through the Mississippi every second? So why were we talking about trains? Perhaps we like to brag about the great deal we got on front-row seats to the show.

The house is small but nice. Only 1 bedroom has a dresser but the other 2 have closets with hangers provided. The kitchen is well stocked with pots and dishes. But we LIVED on the deck! There was a Bald Eagle who perched right across the channel the whole time. We saw him catch a fish from the river! :o Sunrises over the river are spectacular! There's always a lovely breeze. Nice, safe little swimming hole between docks with very little current. The screened in porch is great in the evening when the 'skeeters' come out. It was a super relaxing getaway for some of my friends who work 16/7. I highly recommend!!!
