Waterfront Escape on Caribou Lake: Dock + Fire Pit

Nice and close to Lutsen mountain! And there's a great little hiking trail to Caribou Lake overlook and Superior trail. The cabin is beautiful and well-provisioned. It's fully stocked in the kitchen and the bathrooms all have body wash, shampoo, conditioner, and lotion. The fireplace was great and warmed up the cabin well in frigid temps. All 10 of us had plenty of space to hang out as well. The owner was very responsive when the electronic lock didn't work upon arrival. Two items that would make it even better: 1) turn on the in-floor heat prior to our arrival (the house was 60 deg when we arrived and it takes quite a while to warm up) and 2) evaluate the water pressure- it was very inconsistent to the point that it comes out as a drizzle from a faucet.

This place is amazing. It has open spaces, a fully stocked kitchen and a wood burning fireplace with a large supply of wood. It is spotless and organized. I was grateful for the pet policy. We stayed in the winter and the driveway is short and steep so 4 wheel drive is best. My son did need a several person push up the driveway after a little bit of snow. This a my favorite VRBO I’ve stayed in. I’d say book it!

The house was perfect. It had everything to offer. Spacious but cozy.

Simply fabulous all around. Such a unique location being close to Lutsen on a beautiful inland lake and right on the superior hiking trail. Every detail was thought of.

Great stay, too short

We've stayed at many different rental properties on the lake. This is the best in almost every way. A true log cabin with a spacious open floor plan, a huge outside deck overlooking the lake and an adjacent three season porch. But what sets this cabin apart from others we've stayed in on the lake are the bedrooms. An abundance of room in the master bedroom on the main floor and the multiple beds on the loft and basement levels. Good areas of natural light even on the basement level. A large landscaped firepit is in the back. To us everything has a new feeling to it. A bonus is that we didn't have to haul our garbage several miles into town which was a refreshing change to some of the other places we've stayed. From the kitchen to the bathrooms everything was very well equipped.

Good experience - just wished we knew they were building a home next to our rental. Difficult being in the woods and the noise you hear is pounding all day long.

We stayed recently and overall enjoyed the cabin. It seems like they could make a few tweaks to make it an exceptional rental. Some suggestions: provide firewood daily (a very small amount was provided and I was told no when I asked for more), move the bunk bed out of the second bedroom to make that a king bed downstairs, fix the gap in the floor in the loft bathroom, fix the faucet in the kitchen so that it doesn't make that sound.

Great location, while still being remote. Lake is huge and the views are even better. 8 minutes to the ski hill, would prefer this over a ski in/ ski out. Very clean and homey vibes.

This true log home was breathtakingly beautiful and fit our family of 4 adults and 2 kids perfectly. It was one of the cleanest rental homes I've been in and we so appreciated this. Beds were super comfy which made for a good night's sleep. Wi-Fi was great but cell service was a bit sketchy. Caribou Lake was gorgeous, I just wish I could have seen more of it from the house but most of the view is blocked by trees. Hosts were excellent and easy to get a hold of. I would definitely book this place again as it's so centrally located to so many activities and fun things to do. Thank you for letting us stay at your beautiful log cabin.

Beautiful Cabin w/fantastic view & many conveniences. Fishing was okay. I caught 1 Walleye n 2 Bass. Lovely fire pit, but have bug spray.

Beautiful place on a quiet, serene lake. We were there in late June and the road was lined with wildflowers. The lake was a bit chilly so we didn’t swim much, but enjoyed paddle boarding and kayaking. The house was perfect for our group of 10, we had 3 families and each had their own bathroom and bedroom area. We loved the rustic design of this house with all of the natural wood, yet all of the modern convenience we needed in the kitchen and bathrooms, plus a washer/dryer. We greatly appreciated that dogs are allowed so that the furry family members could enjoy the vacation, as well. We loved our stay so much that we are already talking about coming back next year.
