A couple basic cleaning supplies would have been helpful, but other than that perfect
It’s tucked away perfectly between Blowing Rock and Boone! If you have trouble seeing at night, I do recommend stocking up on groceries and taking advantage of the outside grill. The road in and out as basically one lane and no lights after dark.
Very close to it all. We loved our time in the cabin. Very peaceful and in tune with nature. Amazing restaurants within minutes.
This was our first ever winter vacation & mountain vacation. We drove 14 hours one way to get there. When we arrived we were in total awe at the beauty of the cabin & the views. Everything was perfect UNTIL we went to follow the instructions emailed to us on how to unlock & operate the hot tub on the balcony. We removed the cover & discovered that there was no water in it. We immediately contacted the leasing agency & were notified that the hot tub was not working. Not working, WHAT??? We looked at hundreds of rental properties & chose A Walk in the Clouds solely because of the hot tub & fireplace on the balcony. We understand that things break down but we were so disappointed that we weren't informed about the hot tub before arrival. The leasing agent said we should have received an email letting us know. Instead of that email, we received one with instructions on how to unlock the cover & how to use it. This property & our trip would've been five stars all the way but we were very upset & disappointed with the broke down hot tub. We will definitely be back to the mountains of North Carolina but I don't know if we would ever use Blue Ridge Mountain Rentals again because of this. We still had a great trip but my wife & kids were so bummed that we rented a property with a hot tub & weren't able to use it. So our overall rating of this property would be three stars whereas if the hot tub was working would've been a PERFECT rating. I hope the hot tub is repaired or replaced immediately so that future renters don't have their dream vacation dampered by this.
We booked this property 7-8 months in advance to attend Winterfest in Blowing Rock, NC. 2 days before check in we were notified the hot tub was not operating (a large reason we booked this property along with location). Correspondence with BRMR was really decent. They recommended some other properties with working hot tubs as replacement but we’re not as spacious or locationally preferred so we collectively agreed to keep our original booking. Outside of the other recommendations there was no other incentive/repayment/discount/refund offered. Upon arrival the cabin looked great from the outside but on the inside there were previous finger prints, hand prints on windows, and cup rings on surfaces, and a strange substance on the couch (maybe icing from a doughnut or cinnamon roll). We really wanted to enjoy and relax in this beautiful home but maybe our timing was off.
My wife loves hot tubs. We don’t rent a cabin unless it has one. Well the day before we left for this cabin, we got the email about the tub not functioning. It was too late to change cabins. When we arrived, it was obvious the tub had been broken for a while. And it wasn’t fixed while we were there. A man came by and said “That is shot. This is broken. They’re being delivered”. To be deceived like this is unprofessional. A business who cares about their customers wouldn’t do this. So before using Blue Ridge, ask if everything at their cabins is functioning correctly. Because they won’t tell you.
My family of four came for a visit to Grandfather Mountain. The cabin was absolutely perfect. It was clean and cozy, but had very thoughtful amenities and great decor. We were very impressed and appreciated all that the owners did to make the stay easy and enjoyable.
The cabin was perfect for us and our 2 dogs. It checked all our boxes; location, fenced-in area for the dogs, king bed on main floor, hot tub and covered deck with outside fireplace. We visited Grandfather Mountain, Moses H. Cone Memorial Park, Julian Price Park, Linn Cove Viaduct, Beech Mountain, Blowing Rock, Banner Elk and the Mast Store in Valle Cruis. We will definitely return.
This property was perfect for us. We needed a main floor suite. The hot tub was great. The kitchen was well stocked with cookware and appliances in great condition. Comfortable beds and peace and quiet.
This was the solitude we needed in a peaceful place convenient to everything you need.
The location and view of this home was amazing. The cabin was beautiful, quiet and perfect for our family vacation! It looked just like the pictures!
