Stayed Apr 29, 2026This cabin is so nicely decorated and a lot of thought was put into making sure we had everything we could want. Lots of extra blankets to cozy up by the fire, or read a book and enjoy the woods out on the deck. All the spices to add flavor to our meals, plus other staples like sugar and flour. Bed linens that were soft and warm (tons of pillows of every size and density), thick towels and make-up wipes. There’s even a bidet for those who are looking for that next level. Several games and lots of books to enjoy. Any questions we had were answered within minutes. There was lots of wood there already (at least 2 cords) so you may want to check what’s there before you plan to buy wood on your way in. Bring some fire starters, though (if you forgot they sell them at the Outfitters in town)! There’s a Dollar General in Paw Paw, too, if you forgot anything. We noticed Cheryl’s Snack Shack always seems to have a lot of cars, so we got wings to go one night and they were great - they also have daily specials and ice cream if you’re looking for a little treat. We enjoyed the C&O canal trail and biked/walked the Paw Paw tunnel. We also enjoyed an evening in Berkeley Springs with dinner and martinis at The Naked Olive (we LOVE their martinis) and a movie at the Star - they have couch seating if you’re there early enough, and they serve beer, too! You’re less than an hour from Winchester which is well worth a visit (you may even hear a y’all or two). Highly recommend staying here.

Stayed Jan 1, 2026Very cute little cabin. Kitchen had absolutely everything. Woods stove warmed the whole place. Living room seats exactly 4, no more (not that you’d wan to have more). Good communication. Easy access. Everything was/felt new.

Stayed Oct 28, 2025My husband and I had a fantastic getaway at this cabin! The location was perfect, and the cabin itself is beautifully constructed and meticulously maintained. It was spotlessly clean, well-appointed, and tastefully decorated. The kitchen was a joy to cook in, with high-quality cookware. The host was incredibly attentive, kind, and helpful, making our stay even better.

Stayed Oct 18, 2024This trip was a surprise 40th birthday trip for my fiance. The house is absolutely beautiful! The wood stove inside is super cozy, the hammock swings outside are an amazing place to relax and read. If you want to unplug from the world and relax and recharge, the lazy bear is the place to go. The host was amazing at answering all our questions. We can't wait to come back.

Stayed Jul 27, 2024Wow they got a lot in a small space. Love the kitchen, great for us food snobs, so many options just to make my morning Joe. BTW I’m Joe. We didn’t use the loft, as my wife was not a fan of the witchy steps, the bed and pillows were a cut above. Only complaint is so compact, I must have stubbed my toes at least daily. The deck had a beautiful propane fire box and the forest came alive as soon as the sun set. You will need a vehicle with a little lift though to traverse the drive. We wanted to get away from it all, and this fit the bill. Make sure you write down the date code, as well as the house code. The prior was not grouped with the latter and you will have no phone service when you reach the gate.
