Stayed Jul 8, 2025We loved our stay in the cabin! The unique details, charm and beautiful surroundings made this the perfect vacation! The best part of this rental however was our host Amy and her fantastic family! Amy was attentive, gracious and went out of her way to make us feel welcome as did her family! We will definitely stay here again in future!

Stayed Nov 23, 2023We stayed at the cabin in Nov 2023. And had a wonderful time. What made the trip so memorable was getting recommendations from the owner Amy when she came to the cabin stoking the outside heater that piped in heat to cabin. Cannot over emphasize the need to do research on places to explore while there, because this cabin is in a very rural area. Amy's recommendations on where we should visit meant everything. Quiz her on that. I encouraged her to place in the cabin a list of Must See's / Must Do's to make the stay more incredible - without a plan, you are VERY remote - you need a plan on where to go, what to see, restaurant to visit, etc. This place is absolutely magic - but you need a plan on what to do while there to make it so. Or, if you just want to stay in cabin to unwind, no better place. Small stream with trout wrap around the property. I caught / released 2 rainbow trout with fly rod, but only fished a few minutes. I live on flat land in Virginia, so the mountain views while driving the roads were breathtaking to me. You like deer? They are everywhere. The beauty in these mountains, yes, there is a Creator - and that Creator loves you. God Bless.

Stayed May 11, 2023I’d rate this 10 out of 5 stars. It exceeded our expectations. Meeting Amy and Cookie was an unexpected treat. These two friendly, vivacious and hard working ladies have put together an unexpected little slice of heaven masked as a cabin retreat. Not only is the cabin sparking clean and must free, it is decorated exquisitely. As small as the cabin was, we didn’t feel cramped up or downstairs. The bed we used was very comfortable and the items in the kitchen (coffee maker) were perfect for our needs. We spent some time outside on the front porch and by the fire pit drinking coffee and almost every car that went by honked and/or waved which tells you how wonderful the people in this area are. We also took Cookie’s advice and went to Calico Cafe for lunch and can easily see why people flock there from all over. We will be back to this hidden gem and highly recommend staying here. Thank you Amy and Cookie!

Stayed Nov 14, 2025Small, quaint, lovely cabin! We loved everything about this cabin. We had the most relaxing mini vacation. The only thing was no lighting outside at night. The owner was very helpful with any questions and didn't live far away. Don't let the heating situation scare you, we stayed very warm as the owner tends to the wood daily. I plan to visit again in the summer time.

Stayed Jun 23, 2025What a relaxing week we had at the cabin. It had everything we needed and although we took time to explore the beautiful area, we really enjoyed hanging out on the front porch reading and watching wildlife. We had our senior dog with us, who loved walking down to the river. Amy couldn’t have been sweeter and when we had a rain storm one evening the power went out temporarily and she was there with extra flashlights and lanterns in no time. If you are looking for a place to really relax and recharge here you go…

Stayed Oct 24, 2024This is a quaint cabin on a peaceful country road with a bubbling creek running behind it. Perfectly clean, well equipped. The host, Amy was super nice and accommodating (she saved our biscuits when we misplaced our key and need an assist). If you are into history, The cabin is made of hand hewn timbers from the mid-1800’s and was moved and rebuilt onsite. Oh, the stories that place could tell…!!

Stayed Oct 11, 2024We had a wonderful weekend at this cabin. Check in process was very easy. Well written instructions/directions for the cabin. No cell service…that was nice and WiFi service was best outside or upstairs. Tourism pamphlets and books in the cabin were helpful as we navigated the area. Local restaurants had good food and cooked outside on the charcoal grill. Very nice fire pit.

Stayed Jul 4, 2024Loved this cabin. Loved the rustic feel. Loved the property. Loved the creek. We brought a hammock and relaxed all day, reading books. Saw deer every day and night. Our dog was in heaven. The bed was comfy and the sheets were so soft. Moncove State Park was 25 mins away. Perfect for relaxing while my partner fished! Amy is a WONDERFUL host. I enjoyed meeting her sister, Cookie, who made us feel so welcome! Will definitely be back.

Stayed Jun 15, 2024We were centrally located to all activities we wanted to do. We got experience a look into what living in an authentic cabin was. The scenery and wild life were beautiful. We met the nicest people. The town of Union is the greatest little town in USA. We visited museums, hiked to an overlook, seen covered bridges, old churches, old mills, deserted towns. Learned a lot of history. Learned about a talented artist who does art with stones. Totally amazing! Highly recommend to anyone who loves history!
