The property was great. It is a 15 minute walk from the downtown area and 10 minutes from the market. It has a well stocked kitchen. The upstairs gets extremely hot during the day and extremely cold at night. I wish there was a way to regulate this. Lots of dogs barking at night

The house is beautiful and the host was so responsive and helpful. We encountered a few spiders around the house, and he brought us a repellent spray. From the top floor of the house, you get a beautiful sight of the lake and the mountains. I woke up with a sight of the sun shining on the mountain. Bring eye masks to sleep if you want to wake up late. There’s no blinders for the second floor where the beds are.We don’t stay at the house at noons, but the second floor can get hot around middays (we stayed in March). It was cool at night though, when we’d be home. So it was not a big problem for us.

The place is very nice. Built with natural materials - stone/wood/ceramic/metal - it has a nice feeling. It's clean, and the location is great - there are a lot of trees on the lot, so constant birdsong. It's away from the road, so very tranquil. It's easy to get into town by walking or tuc tuc - you can walk along the lake to the Santiago dock, then you have to take the streets. It's a couple of hundred feet from the lake. Martin is very friendly and everything was easy. The stairs are quite steep, which wasn't a problem for us, but consider that if you have trouble with stairs. Thanks Martin!

The inherent sense of Equinimity within the house has a healing therapeutic quality.. Juan presents a picture of the kindness, sensitive careing, understanding and kindness. His words are always impeccable, his responsively always reliable, his support and assistance always there. His son follows in his footsteps. He is also pragmatic flexible and sensirtive. He seems to want you to be in a state of well being and satisfaction. The house presents a harmonious simplicity of a balanced equilibrium. It is well equipped for the comforts of the guest and is totally unpretentious. Una experiencia inolvidable. Es estupenda que La gente Guatemalteca Siempre esten disponible para comunicación. Les gustan compartir experiencias y ideas. Es maravilloso que tengas la oportunidad a vivir entre vecinas Mayas. The night lights from the towns and villages across Lake Atitlan sinks deeply within the depths of your experience. Soothing to Body Mind and Spirit.

Juan and his son did an amazing job building this house. You will definitely experience the birds that live in the trees around the property and gorgeous views of the lake. With downtown a mere 10-15 minute walk away, Tzikin Jaay is a perfect spot to stay with a family. We loved it and will be back for sure!!! Thank you Juan
