Stayed Oct 23, 2025Our friend group of 6 had a great stay at this property. Communication with the property manager was excellent, the property was spotless and exactly as pictured in the listing. We had a small issue with the heat not working upon arrival but the property manager responded quickly had the issue fixed within an hour. The house had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The outdoor firepit area was the perfect spot to gather and relax with our friends. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen was fully equipped and there were plenty of towels and blankets. Great location by the lake and only a 5 minute drive to Bailey’s Harbor. I would definitely stay here again.

Stayed Aug 18, 2025Very nice central location. Great screened in porch area, primary bathroom and space between neighbors. Lock box was a bit challenging to reinsert. The check-out process request to remove all sheets and place them in the laundry room before departure was a service we have previously received at other VRBO rentals. Overall great experience.

Stayed Aug 10, 2025We had a great stay at Roo Retreat. A few things to consider- there wasn’t enough hot water for all 4 of us to shower. We went kayaking, came home to shower off the lake water and there was only enough hot water for 2 ppl. Also- lake access isn’t great. It might be 300 yards to the water, as the crow flies, but in reality, you walk down the street, take a left to head to the water. It seems like an old boat launch, not a beach. To get to the actual boat launch, you have to drive out and around Kangaroo lake. All in all- it was great, we were disappointed because we thought we’d be able to easily access Kangaroo lake for kayaking, swimming and beach days and that didn’t pan out. The location and amenities were great. We loved the quiet peaceful setting. Being close to Bailey’s Harbor and on the quieter side of the Peninsula was great.

Stayed Aug 4, 2025We loved staying at the Roo with our kids and grandkids. We played some serious Bananagrams and checkers. The house is clean and cozy. We loved the all-day sunshine!

Stayed Jul 25, 2025Great space! The house had everything we could think of - toys/books for little ones, games for adults, pack n play, and even a star astronaut display in kids room. The 3-season room was perfect in the morning and evenings - listening to birds was so peaceful. Would highly recommend.

Stayed Jul 11, 2025We enjoyed our brief stay here! The kitchen, living room, screened porch, fire ring (which we didn't have time to use), and master bedroom were all well-appointed. The second queen bedroom was very small, but that it is by no means a deal-breaker. We all agreed that we would return on our next family outing to Door County.

Stayed Jan 24, 2025This was our third stay at Roo Retreat for a relaxing winter long weekend. We love the proximity to Coyote Roadhouse and the short distance to the public lake access for ice skating or just walks on the ice. The house has plenty of space for us and our two teenagers to have our own space. We love making meals in the adorable kitchen, playing games in the dining room, and watching movies in the living room with a fire in the fireplace. We will be back.

Stayed Sep 15, 2024Good location by Kangaroo Lake. We were disappointed that 2 of 3 bedrooms were smaller than expected. The laundry area and floors were dirty. No hooks in smaller bathroom to hang clothes and towels on. Nice yard. Glad there were toys for our toddler.

Stayed Jun 16, 2024We chose Roo Retreat because it is on the lake side of the peninsula, the quiet side. It has the added attraction of being across the road from Kangaroo Lake, although the access to the lake is very limited. No worries, the beaches of Bailey's Harbor, Egg Harbor and Fish Creek are only a ten minute drive away on the more active Bay Side of the peninsula. The house is comfortable and well supplied with all things necessary. The beds are cozy, baths are fine (both have heated floors), and the kitchen well stocked. The WiFi is iffy at times, but the area is rural. We enjoyed our stay and believe you will also.

Stayed Jun 14, 2024Cute and clean! It was the perfect little getaway. My only complaint was that the Kangaroo beach isn’t really a beach. The Roo retreat itself was perfect!

Stayed Jun 2, 2024Clean, cute and comfortable place. Everything had been well thought out in terms of guest needs. Beds super comfortable. Was on the cool side with rain so we enjoyed games by the fire. Would absolutely book again if in the area.
