Great communication with host. Home was perfect for our hunting group. Home is older but well kept and clean. Great location.

Beautiful cabin, well appointed, excellent host, clean, very spacious… lots of privacy for large groups.

After 5 summers of a 1 week rental somewhere in Colorado, this is the best of the best. For our family of 8 adults and 2 small children, the Mayfields’ beautiful cabin was perfect, and Michael was the perfect host. Everything was exceptionally clean and in working condition. The layout allowed privacy for reading or napping, with multiple other gathering spaces for family meals and board games. Our last night we gathered out on the upper deck to gaze at the Milky Way and spot meteorites. We appreciated that there are more than adequate bathroom facilities—one on each floor. Some previous guests had critiqued the rather steep driveway. But that has been recently paved and should no longer be a challenge for any vehicle. We enjoyed proximity to Mesa Verde National Park for a day trip and Durango for short trips to a fun children’s park, disc golf courses, restaurants/breweries, and thrift store shopping. Some of us hiked all the way up the mountain behind the cabin (bushwhacking until we happened on a groomed trail) and enjoyed the vista down to the Vallecito Reservoir—which we visited one day also, hiking the family friendly Vallecito Creek Trail. All in all, this place is a winner. The only downside is that any future rental will pale in comparison.

Very clean cabin with beautiful views!

My group of 12 friends visited during the summertime. I'm normally wary of hosting type places when traveling, but Mike was so friendly and eager to answer any questions I had. He was accommodating during our calls/texts, gave recommendations on nearby attractions, and gave very clear instructions. The property is a 40 minute drive from Durango with beautiful views. The driveway is kinda hectic due to steep slopes, but manageable. The property itself is gorgeous, amazing views no matter where you look. There's a clearing a bit up the way that was perfect for exercising or just chilling. Between the beds and couches, there was plenty of space for our group of 12 to sleep. Also, plenty of towels. Even with 12 of us, we never ran out. Overall, if I could give 6/5 stars, I would.

Stay was great only thing we didn’t like about it was the driveway it is crazy and the other thing is the garbage otherwise the cabin it self was a 10 out of 10

Our family had the best time this last week. We loved the house and the area. The driveway was definitely a little nerve wracking the first time up. Y’all have a great place. So peaceful. Thanks again

STUNNING!! CLEAN!! This property is amazing. Not only is this a beautiful cabin/home, the views are breathtaking as well. This was our first family vacation with kids and grandkids. Everyone was more than pleased with their accommodations, and it set the tone of a great vacation. You literally want for nothing at this property. Comfy beds, stocked kitchen (almost every pan and small appliance you could need), quality linens and towels. All the things that remind you of home away from home. Michael Mayfield is a dream to do business with. I didn't have many questions, but he was very quick to respond to the few I had. My son asked if we could come back for a winter staycation at this property......He has me thinking!!
