The Space
Welcome to our cabin! We have taken to calling this place the Tree Fort since it looks like it sits among the trees from the lake. We bought this place in 2005 and have done a complete remodel over the years and we really love it. We have family in the area and are friends with a lot of people on the lake, whom we regularly tie up with on the lake and take turns hosting gatherings at each others' cabins. It is a great community. We hope you are able to make some lasting memories during your stay as well.
The cabin is located 0n Lower Long Lake near the town of New Auburn, WI just 45 minutes north of Eau Claire, WI and 2 hours and 15 minutes from the Twin Cities. The lake is a good sized lake at 1100 acres. The lake is a good fishing lake and is fully recreational. The cabin has a full kitchen, three full bathrooms, 5 bedrooms, a loft and great common spaces. The main floor has a on-suite bedrood w 3/4 bath. Two of the bedrooms upstairs have queen beds and the third room has twin bunks with a trundle bed. The loft has a queen bed too. The basement also has a queen bed and crib. There are also two couches for any overflow sleepers.
Other than the beautiful cabin and the lake access, the near-by town of Chetek offers plenty of fun activities for families, couples, and individuals. Fish, kayak, and have a fire in the fire pit and roast hot dogs and make s'mores, sit on the dock and enjoy a glass of wine and watch the sun set over the lake. Take a twenty minute drive and head into Chetek to enjoy restaurants, bars, coffee shop, boutique shopping, library, and grocery store. There will be information available at the cabin detailing local restaurants, bars, and other points of interest.
Guest Access
Guests will enjoy the following activities:
Pontoon rentals are available at $175-225 /day with multiple day discounts.
Fishing dock, adult kayak, fire pit with chairs, water raft in the lake. We also have a gas grill and grilling utensils for your use. If you run out of propane, it is available at the Corner Store (BP at Hwy 40 and M); however, we will always try to have an extra tank.
The shoreline is rip rapped but the water is clean and great for swimming. There are no weeds or muck. Jump off the dock and enjoy the water!
Kids can play in the front or back yard and we have lots of yard games.
Interaction with Guests
Guests can check themselves in using a Schlage code on the front door. We will provide them with the code and change it after each reservation. A guestbook with more information will be left inside. We have another property on the lake so we may be enjoying time in the area with our sons Oliver and Elliott also.
You can contact Travis or Bryan during your stay by phone or email should you need to ask questions or have concerns. Texting is the best way to get ahold of use during the work day.
The Neighborhood
The cabin is located near the end of a dead end road and there is not much traffic. It is a quiet neighborhood comprised of families and retirees. We are on the back side of the lake so our bay tends to be quieter, especially in the evenings. You will love the sound of the loons calling to one another across the bay. Keep your eye out for loon chicks!
The cabin is located near the end of a dead-end road, so it is pretty quiet. Below are some of house rules for your stay.

2. There are two public access docks where you can put a boat in. An adult Kayak with life jackets are available for guest use. Please wear your life jacket!

7. Bring your own firewood. Gas stations in the area typically have bundles of wood for sale. Feel free to use any downed branches on the property for a fire however.
8. If you will be boating for fishing, water skiing, etc please obtain a copy of a map of the lake so you can avoid unexpected shallow water or rocky areas.
9. No fireworks!
~A guest book with house rules will be available at the cabin with more details about the property, as well as check out procedures.
We spent a fantastic week over winter break. The house is clean and very well organized. Communication with the hosts was excellent. The location by the lake in the woods is amazing. We highly recommend it.
This was our second stay at this property. A master suite on main level was added that was wonderful but king size mattress was terrible. The new area still needs window coverings and there is no door on bathroom! I told the owner the kitchen needs a serious cleaning. New cookware needed too. Next season price has jumped to over 700 a night. Not worth it!!! We will go elsewhere in same area.
The home was great and the lake is awesome!!
While service was spotty after arrival, we had no problem getting to the cabin. Google maps took us right there. Travis was very responsive and communicative throughout the booking process and during our stay. We rented the pontoon boat for one day and had the best time. My 7-year old now LOVES to fish (we got a fishing license at the store just before we got to the cabin). Plenty of exploring to do around the property, but relaxing on the deck was a nice option as well. THANK YOU!
Nice hone. Would stay again.
Awesome place on a great lake. Fishing was poor but still had fun.
We've stayed here for our annual group fishing trip for several years now. There is ample room in the house, nicely furnished, wi-fi and TV, updated bathrooms and kitchen...it's a home away from home. Communication was easy with the owners if we needed anything. Big yard for games and hanging out. Also an absolutely beautiful lake. Recommend any day of the week.
Great hosts and such a beautiful lake, thank you!
We enjoyed our stay very much. The pontoon was a great addition to our family outing.
Wonderful home, clean and comfortable. The lake was beautiful. Enjoyed being on the quiet end of the lake. The water is so clear and driving the boat to the sandbar was the most fun! Would absolutely stay again. Travis was easy and great to work with.
Our family loved our stay. We enjoyed the access to the water off the pier, the lily pad, kayaks, etc. We were glad we rented the pontoon they offer as well. Our stay was Monday-Friday and we found the lake to be relatively quiet and relaxing to enjoy - not overly busy with speed boats, etc. The house is easy to relax into and spend time together. It offers many different spaces depending on your needs. There are a fair amount of stairs if you are going from the pier uphill to the house and then up to the main level of the house. Just something to be mindful of if you have knee issues. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the Tree Fort Long Lake and hope to return again in the future.
We loved sitting on the deck enjoying the view. Fun things to use in the boat house (kayaks, paddle board, lily pad). Very large living and kitchen space. We enjoyed our time at the lake.
