My husband and I was there for a week in December. It was a beautiful stay and had everything we needed. The communications with the Owners and property manager was very timely. The Owners accomplished the perfect balance between modern and rustic, anything more wouldโve tipped the ambiance away from its rustic charm. I would advise for all to read the Ownerโs description. They made it very clear youโll need a 4x4. It snowed prior to our arrival, and we had no problem zipping up and down the hill with our truck. We made a point to arrive prior to dark setting, and glad we did. We oohed and awwed at the views.
Wonderful rustic home in the woods. I felt like Snow White! Loved the house with itโs rustic feel with all the amenities. We visited Santa Fe, Bandelier, and Los Alamos. It was so peaceful. Would love to visit again!
Beautiful and peaceful. A true retreat into the Santa Fe National Forrest.
We loved this cabin and were impressed with the attention to detail that went in to building it. The host was friendly, informative and welcoming. The beds were comfortable, the soaker tub a plus and the ammenaties plentuful. We highly recommend staying at the Story Book Cabin if your goal is to relax, enjoy nature and take a step back in time.
My husband and I so very much enjoyed our stay at the Story Book Cabin. We were weary of the unusual blistering temperatures at home so we were hoping for a reprieve at the cabin. And we found it! Nestled in the trees the cabin was cool and cozy and charming. We had everything we needed at the cabin and only left once for a late lunch at Rancho de Chamayo. We walked up the hill along the road each day. A road best taken with a car with high clearance and maybe 4 wheel drive....we tried in our Honda and turned back. We would have loved a little information from owner or property manager about the immediate area like what IS up the road, are there hiking trails? And some history on this adorable cabin would have cured my curiosity. But none of this lack of information interfered with our lovely, delightful stay. I would come back tomorrow if life permitted.
What an incredible home. Not only was the location just what I had hoped, the home was even better than I expected. One week was not long enough. I barely needed to leave the canyon because I was so content. Check in was perfect as was the communication with the owner and propertly manager. I was really sad to leave so soon.
Enjoyed every minute Beautiful old fashion constructed home Hope to come back The sitting area in the stream is a must
Enjoyed the stay, very quiet, very peaceful. The sound of the nearby creek was amazing. The cabin is quite eclectic, there are many interesting things to explore throughout.
We really enjoyed our stay at The Storybook Cabin. We were a bit surprised by the length and drive of the dirt road up the mountain but after a couple of drives we felt comfortable and got used to it. The cabin is amazing! The views are exactly as depicted in the description although, the trees and bushes were a little overgrown than in the images. That was the only real difference. Thereโs a small river that runs through the cabin grounds outdoor and you can hear itโs sound so peaceful. The days brought in a lot of sunshine through the well lit areas and the nights were cool. We slept with the windows open and it was almost too cold for us but mostly perfect! We had a really nice time! What a beautiful place!
What a great location, the cabin interiors are very well done in recycled barn wood and other reclaimed materials, books and games for the kiddos and plenty of room for the doggos
My family and I stayed at the cabin to do a little skiing. We wanted someplace close enough to get to town but secluded to get away from it all. We got both! Amazing views and a wonderful property (wood burning stove to keep extra warm, games, etc). We had snow on the ground when we arrived and happened to be there for the biggest snow of the year and getting up and down off the mountain certainly requires a 4x4 (awd won't cut it). The property manager came by after the snow with his snowblower to clear some of the road and to shovel us out. So nice and loved the extra effort and support. There was a wonderful meadow that the kids were able to tube down and had a blast. We will certainty be back again.
We were blown away with the house and the property. Everything was more than what we imagined and the pics don't do it justice. Also I think it should be mentioned more about how remote this house is and how secluded it is. We wanted the seclusion and access to Sante Fe. This house was perfect for us!
Beautiful location. Very quiet.
The cabin is rustic luxury and delighted our family. Very clean. Very charming. Very comfortable. Never got tired of the hummingbirds zooming by! Will definitely be staying again!
The cabin is amazing and in a wonderfully secluded area. The run in with a bear was unexpected - yet oddly exciting. I would definitely refer this place to anyone. Brian, the property manager was awesome as well!!
