The Irish Rose has become a vacation favorite for guests from all over the world! Just take a look at our guestbook comments below! This mountain cabin is located on the historic Mosquito Gulch Trail. Just 15 miles south of Breckenridge, it is the perfect spot for either a secluded get-away or a ski vacation at a fraction of the cost.

Centered on ten acres of pine and aspen, the Irish Rose was designed to accommodate those who want a true Colorado experience. With Mosquito Creek flowing nearby, you will enjoy spectacular views of Pennsylvania and London Mountains as you relax with family and friends. A seven person hot tub sits out front in the location of an old historic mine if you want to relax and enjoy the view from there!

If summer hiking, biking or four-wheeling is your desire, four of Colorado's 14,000 foot peaks are at your doorstep, providing some of the best hiking and driving trails in the world. Tackle the summits of Mount Bross, Mount Democrat, Mount Cameron, and Mount Lincoln... all in a single day!

Gold pan on the local creeks, explore 'Buckskin Joe' trail, and visit the ghost town of Park City. The historic mining towns of Alma and Fairplay are also nearby. Mountain bike to your heart's content or drive the legendary 4x4 'Mosquito Pass' into Leadville. Pick wildlowers and view wildlife--there's something for everyone!

If winter activities are your goal, the beautiful village of Breckenridge is just a short drive north where you can enjoy premier Colorado skiing, dining, and shopping. Keystone, Arapahoe Basin, and Copper Mountain are also close. Or, stay near home and cross-country ski to your heart's content. We have it all!

The Irish Rose was built with families in mind. The main level has a great room with a gas fireplace and floor-to-ceiling windows showcasing the beautiful mountains and trees. It is surrounded by a huge 32x8 foot wrap-around deck. A full kitchen and dining area are also on this level to create an open, spacious environment. Pets are NOT allowed, No Smoking.

There are two main level bedrooms, one with a queen bed, and one with double bed and trundle geared for up to three kids. The great room sofa also pulls out to a queen-size bed. The master bedroom loft has a queen bed, washer and dryer, along with a small private balcony. There are full baths on both the main level and the loft.

The cabin also has a lower level with a private entrance in the back which is only used occasionally by the owners during periods of maintenance and upkeep. It is never rented and will almost always be unoccupied during your stay.

Experience the Rocky Mountains in the comfort of the 'Irish Rose'. At over 10,000ft elevation, it's as close to heaven as you can get!

This was the perfect getaway! My boyfriend and I stayed at the Irish Rose to celebrate our birthdays and it was magical! Beautiful views, a beautiful cabin, and the hot tub was awesome! Even though the windchill reached -20 degrees during our stay, the Irish Rose and surrounding scenery more than made up for the cold. Rich was super responsive and kind.Could not reccomend the Irish Rose enough!!

Awesome stay away from a lot of people. We loved the location and want to go back! We saw Moose, and mule dear from the deck and enjoyed the hot tub every evening. They had toys and movies that were perfect for our 3 kids all 7 and under. We caught pretty brook trout on the property, loved the acreage and not seeing any neighbors! Felt like an actual “getaway”

We planned this vacation for 3 months and the reason we chose this cabin was the description and emphasis on cleanliness, but unfortunately that turned out to be wrong. When the owner sent us a welcome message a week before our arrival, we also told him that cleanliness is very important to us, especially the cleanliness of the Jacuzzi, he said that it is not usual for them to change the water after each guest, but that he would do it for us. Later we realized that the gentleman doesn't know anything about cleanliness and the first day when we arrived and found dirty pillows, blankets and blankets after 14 hours of driving, we wanted to rest, but that was a shame for us. We contacted him and sent him pictures and the first thing he offered us in a rude way was to leave the cabin and that he would refund our money, which is very unprofessional on his part. Many problems with this cabin, I will list some: The view is obscured by overgrown trees that need attention, the 10 acres in the description are useless 10 acres because everything is overgrown and impossible to move around, let alone spend time, if you want to go outside his property, there are no trespassing signs, the bridge over the river is unsafe, the small toilets in the bathrooms are definitely not adult size, there is mold on the edges of the bathtub, the upstairs room makes a noise every step or movement…Definitely worse deal ever and worse host ever…

Can't wait to return to this specific mountain location. The pictures and description were on point! We booked for a birthday trip and now the family is asking when we get to go back. We were able to see deer and even moose while cooking dinner and went on hikes everyday. The host makes sure you have everything you need and the property manager responds quickly if there are any questions. I have recommended to several people in state and out!

We will be staying here again! And soon! The location is amazing. Middle of nowhere, which is exactly what we were looking for. The satellite internet works better than my Com*ast at home. The place was clean, exactly the right size for the 5 of us, and just beautiful. We didn't run out of places to explore. Lots of animals to watch. What a perfect Father's Day weekend with my girls. Thank you so much!!!

We loved our stay at this cabin! The views were amazing with mountains all around! It's remote but still close enough to get help if you need it. There's so many fun things to do with the old mine behind the cabin. We had a blast sledding behind the cabin and playing in the snow!

We enjoyed our stay here and would be back again. We saw a mama and her baby moose several times, a black bear rambling about on the mountain, and of course deer. We enjoyed time in the hot tub gazing at the millions of stars out, grilled a fabulous steak dinner one night, and it was the perfect distance from our daily golf and other excursions. The owner and property manager were super responsive and helpful. Overall it was a great time in this mountain retreat. Thank you for sharing with us!

It’s a beautiful property and a great location. The hot tub was really nice to relax after a long hike. The only issues we faced were that we did not have hot water while we were there and that we were a bed short. We attempted to contact the property manager about the water and got no response, but the dishwasher and washing machine worked so we only had issue with the shower temp. We had 5 people and had 4 beds; the air mattress didn’t hold air overnight and the couch was not a pull out (or we just couldn’t figure out how to use it).The couch was comfortable enough to sleep on, so we were able to make do. There were lots of dvds and board games to keep us entertained after dark or during the rain, but don’t count on good WiFi when it’s cloudy. Lastly, don’t take County Road 10 if you aren’t comfortable with light-to-medium off-roading (though it may have just been abnormally rough while we were there). Google maps directed us to go that way but CR12 is a better road.

Such a great location and the views were unbeatable! Our kids had a great time playing in the woods and the creek and enjoyed adventuring around the local area. We enjoyed watching deer and moose in the mornings and loved hearing the creek from the house. It was peaceful and the only sounds were those of nature- very relaxing! The house was well equipped for our stay and very easy to check in and communicate with the owners.

We had a great time at the Irish Rose. It is beautiful cabin in spectacular mountain setting. It served us well as a hub for our many activities. Its location allowed day trips to Breckenridge, Buena Vista, Leadville, Frisco, and everything in between. We took advantage of the proximity to four 14ers that my son and I were able to summit with them bring only 20 minutes from the cabin. Our family enjoyed exploring the property, watching the wildlife, and the hot tub in the evenings. We even lucked out and happened to be there when the burro races came by, an extra treat. We would highly recommend.
