The Hide & Seek: vintage modern forest cabin with sauna

Such a sweet and cozy cabin! Rustic feeling with the Sandy River close by (for those who enjoy a riverine soundtrack), but with some luxuries that mean you are definitely not roughing it. The barrel sauna was perfect on a rainy day. Good hiking is nearby. The cabin was very well-outfitted for cooking, but there are places near enough in either direction on 26 if you don't want to cook.

This is the most adorable, well-appointed cabin. I was able to instantly relax and feel comfortable. It was the perfect getaway from the stress of daily life. The views are gorgeous, and the bed was incredibly comfortable. They even provided slippers for when you're shuffling around the cabin because the floor can be a bit cold. There was literally nothing we needed that we couldn't find. The sound system was also great! I am glad that the owners were clear in the listing about the staircase being a challenge. Even knowing it, I was surprised by how much focus it took to climb up and down. Definitely do NOT recommend to anyone with mobility issues. Wish I could have stayed for a week, or a month, or just permanently. We did not want to leave.

More luxurious than I imagined! From handmade ceramic bowls to nice coffee, every detail was thoughtful. There is a short path behind the cabin to the river and you can hear the gentle river from the cabin. Highly recommend.

Location was amazing, communication and directions were easily accessible and laid out prior to arriving, and the amenities were high quality all around. We had an perfect, quick overnight and will be returning whenever we're in the area in the future.

This little gem was everything I had hoped for our anniversary getaway. We had everything at our fingertips. All the spaces were extremely comfortable, and dinner for two in the little kitchen was perfect. We got away, unplugged and enjoyed natures beauty.

The fans, creaking floor and other noises disturbed the peaceful nature of the setting. The cabin is adorable and well appointed. The stairs were beyond steep. I didn't consider myself to be limited mobility, but now I do.

This was hands down the cleanest property I have stayed at to date for any app I have used. This was also the most accurate listing! This place is a MUST! The bathroom is straight out of a catalog, and the rest of the place gives you rustic instagramable outlook post vibes to die for. The bed is SO comfortable and warm. Waking up to view the first out the windows and listening to the river was awesome. We went and got a coffee up the road, and lit a fire outside as it was warm and sunny. Absolutely perfect.

The cabin is beautiful and exactly like described. It's clear that thought and care has been taken to make the property as cozy as can be in this very peaceful area. We greatly enjoyed the quiet comfort.

One of my favorite VRBO’s we’ve stayed in. It is a very unique property. You feel like you’re living in a tree house surrounded by beautiful greenery. We loved using the sauna with a quick dip in the nearby river to cool off. Host provides everything you need to make your stay complete.

Wow, we loved this place! Such a cozy cabin with sweet touches. We particularly enjoyed sitting by the fire and utilizing the sauna stepsaway, having pizza on the clean porch, and settling into the master which felt like we were sitting in the trees. We had such a relaxing, serene experience!

My fiancé and I stayed here for our 7 year anniversary and had an AMAZING time!! The little cabin is so cute and was perfectly sized for the two of us! We didn’t end up going on any hikes, but we did spend a lot of time sitting out by the fire pit! I highly recommend staying here for a must needed vacation in the woods!

My husband and I had the pleasure of choosing this cabin for our honeymoon back in 2020 after our planned trip to California was cancelled unexpectedly (just like lots of things were that year). This year, we returned for our 5 year wedding anniversary. In my mind, it's the perfect getaway. Beautiful views, comfortable space, walks nearby. This is a magical place.

We loved this cabin the moment we walked in the door! The cabin is well appointed, cozy, and inviting. The glass-fronted wood stove, radiant heat floors, walk-in shower with a forest view, comfortable bed (again with forest view), and the river trail were all highlights. We can't wait to return!

Great plans to unplug

My spouse and I needed a getaway from life and our kiddo. This was such a restorative spot! The cabin was cozy and luxurious with the heated floors and sauna. We skied the day we checked in and then spent a day just resting by the fire and reading. It was so relaxing! Also, we cooked dinner and the kitchen had every thing we needed to make that happen!

The Hide & Seek cabin is a magical place.

We really enjoyed our time at the hide and seek cabin! Perfectly set up space, easy to follow instructions for using the appliances and sauna, and overall a very charming vibe.

We really liked this cabin for the charm but there were a few things off that shouldn't be for the price point. The bed was absolutely horrible with a sink hole in the middle... we ended up buying an inflatable mattress. The sheets, robes, and towels were very old and very worn. The sauna didn't work, even after following the instructions verbatim.

My wife and I really enjoyed our stay. We were looking for a good quiet weekend away and got exactly that. We loved sitting by the fire in the evening and just chilling. Great Stay! We’ll be back

A warm cozy cabin that we had the pleasure of enjoying for a night. The sauna was a delight that took our breath away. The firewood stove was a warm and so beautiful, to be in a cozy cabin while it snowed in the forest around us, leaves me speechless with joy in my heart Wishing we could have stayed longer!

My boyfriend and I had the best time staying in the cutest cabin. We loved the wood stove and heated floors. The sauna was an added bonus after a long day on the slopes. The Kitchen had just what we needed to make breakfast for 2. Wanting to book another stay for us soon.

Don’t let the word cabin fool you this place was furnished beautifully, high-quality everything. So cozy! Radiant floor heat and a wood burning stove. We rarely left the livingroom.

We adored the property and had a wonderful relaxing experience. The kitchen had everything we needed and the heated floors on the main level were so nice to have on the cold nights while we were there and helped to keep the cabin warm. Loved the natural light through the windows as well, just keep in mind that there are no window coverings, but the bathroom windows are strategically placed looking out into the woods (no neighbors on that side). Short trail down to the river which was gorgeous. Be mindful of the stairs to the bedroom as they are a bit steep. The bed was incredibly comfortable though and the rain hitting the roof was such a nice sound to fall asleep to. If you are wanting to unplug and relax, this is the place to do it!

Perfect cozy cabin for a getaway!

I went to the light cozy cabin with my wife and had a great experience, the only thing I regret it was not staying there longer. Next you the Sandy River was amazing and the sauna makes the experience when better. The owner was reachable and the place had everything we needed, including Netflix and Max, in general it was a great experience and we will do it again.

The property was a great spot with all the amenities for a visit to the Mt. Hood area. The weather outside was pouring rain but the coziness of the cabin with the wood stove roaring was perfect. When we headed to bed the sound of the rain on the roof was mesmerizing. The next morning the kitchen had everything we needed to cook a hearty breakfast before heading out skiing. I wish we could have stayed more than one short night and enjoyed the sauna a bit, but it was still the perfect spot to slow down and enjoy each other's company for the evening.

Such cute and cozy cabin will defiantly stay here again!!!

The cabin is beautifully decorated and surrounded by trees- feels like being in a treehouse. Comfortable bed and couch- everything you need to power down and relax in the woods. Our second visit and we will be back!

My partner and I throughly enjoyed the quiet cabin get away . Our host , Rebecca , made sure that the cabin was well stocked with lovely dish ware, sheets , robes, flip flops for the sauna, and everything a chef could want. From the moment we walked in the door it felt homey and welcoming. The luxurious bed, bathroom, and lovely tree views enhanced the experience. We’d love to return and had a great experience!

This house is so adorable and full of charm! Like a little fairytale cottage tucked in the woods. The location was perfect for our weekend getaway and hiking trip. The communication with the host was excellent! The welcome guide was a great source of info & very much appreciated as 1st time visitors to the area. Highly recommend this listing for couples. The loft stairs can be a challenge if there are mobility issues though.

We stayed at the Hide and Seek cabin after our engagement in the morning. This cabin is the perfect little getaway for us where it allows us to enjoy the beautiful outdoors while staying cozy. Definitely will recommend to friends and family!

My wife had to Facetime the entire place to share it with family she liked it so much. I was great for 2 people. Quiet and relaxing setting, fairly close to hiking/outdoors. We would stay again.

Thia cabin is perfect! Its modern and rustic at the same time with beautiful attention to detail. It feels super cozy and somewhat isolated (there are neighbors close by, but it's very quiet). I loved the feel of seclusion and quiet. I would've loved to retreat there for a month and write a book. Or read a whole library. I want to go back! The restaurants nearby were fair- i would've planned to cook more instead of going out. Hiking in the area is superb, but you have to drive to get to the trails.

This place is absolutely stunning. The attention to detail down to the pottery and shower soap is obvious and pulls the place together in such an impressive way. We stayed here for the first night of our honeymoon and loved every minute of it. I have never experienced such a calm and serene place to decompress. 11/10 place, definitely recommend. -Dylan & Mac

We spend one of our first weekends away together and it was such a perfect getaway that we booked it for the week after our wedding. ✨

This is a very quaint and clean cabin in the woods. It is like you are staying in a modern tree house. There is no AC and the heat source is a wood burning stone. It says they have radiant heat but it was not on during our stay so the floors were cold. The biggest negative for us, is there was no privacy. Yes, the cabin is somewhat secluded in the woods, but NONE and I mean NONE of the windows have blinds or curtains, and there are neighbors. If you can see them then someone can see you! There are 2 windows in the bathroom. 1 large picture frame window was actually in the shower so you are very exposed as you shower. Was very disturbing. There are no window coverings on any (of the many) windows in the bedroom. There is no privacy when bathing or getting dress so beware! We visited from the East Coast, so maybe this is how the West Coast rolls! IDK, LOL :-)

Quiet and private. A unique place! Clean and comfortable. The stairs were not a problem for us but be aware that you have to go down them at night to use the bathroom.

My boyfriend and I stayed at this cabin for our anniversary and it was beyond anything we could have imagined! You can hear the river from the cabin and at night it’s very peaceful and quiet. We enjoyed having our morning coffee and some breakfast. We had even brought sushi one night and forgot to bring chopsticks and our host actually had some! She literally had everything. The walk down to the river was only a couple of minutes and we recommend walking further down alongside it so you can get a little closer to the shore. We didn’t get to use the sauna because we we’re almost never there during the day, but everything was so lovely and cozy. We would love to stay here again some time. Thank you for everything!
