Simple beautiful amazing
Just got back from The Great Escape and I must say this is the best VRBO property we've ever used. We booked on very short notice ( 2 days), and Howard was able to turn everything around and get us all the logistics before we left from home. He was a pleasure to work with and very responsive. Directions were easy to follow and the cabin was just as advertised with spectacular views. We used the hot tub and sauna mutiple times. Having a garage for our vehicle was nice, especially since we got an inch of snow and it was bitterly cold and windy the morning we departed. We were really able to relax and enjoy our time together. What a great place.
Was great perfect one bedroom cabin.
We spent a long weekend at the Great Escape and enjoyed every minute of it! The house was very accommodating with everything we needed to feel right at home! The breathtaking views overlooking the mountains were so delightful! The many windows throughout the house allowed us to see lots of different views! Watching the sunset while swinging on the porch was a great ending to a wonderful day! We will definitely return to the Great Escape! The owner, Howard, was so easy to work with and very friendly! Thanks for a wonderful weekend and for sharing your home!
I can't say enough good things about this cabin and Howard. The website pictures simply can't do the cabin and the view justice. Everything was perfect and by far the best cabin rental experience we've ever had. It's very obvious that Howard takes pride in making the most of his guest's mountain experience. We can't wait to get back again. Thank you again for allowing us the opportunity to stay.
The Great Escape, true to its name, is an incredible cabin to get away from it all! Howard was kind enough to let myself and some friends rent the cabin for four memorable days. Despite renting in Jan, the weather was favorable and the views from the deck were simply unforgettable. We loved relaxing in the hot tub during the day and the sauna after dinner. The cabin is larger than the photos portray and even better furnished. Howard, the owner, is an absolute gentleman and made the process easy from start to finish. Would absolutely recommend to anyone seeking a relaxing, quiet vacation!
This cabin has it all from the breathtaking views to parking in a spacious garage. We absolutely loved this cabin and hope we will be able to return in the future.
We arrived and found the place in immaculate shape! The pictures on the site, while beautiful, can't even do the actual views justice. They are simply breathtaking. We were lucky enough to have a meteor shower during our stay! The view of the stars is just simply the best. We picked out a Christmas Tree from the local Ivy Tree farm on Saturday and truly enjoyed the whole experience. We can't wait to return! Thanks Howard for being so accommodating!
We usually go to Gatlinburg , Pigeon Forge area ...This was our first time in Boone , West Jefferson area. We like to travel with our 2 Dalmatians. This area is much more pet friendly . It was nice to be able to take them on all the hikes and walks. We hiked off the nearby Blue Ridge Hwy and did the Greenway Trail in Boone. As much as we loved the beautiful outdoors...We loved the Great Escape . The view is absolutely breathtaking . The place is very well taken care of and very clean and well equipped. It is so nice to be able to take pets to such a gorgeous place. We have been going to the Smokies for about 15 years and never stayed in the same place twice. I think we found a new area and our first repeat cabin. Thanks for sharing your paradise in the mountains Howard.
My husband and I and our 2 dogs stayed at The Great Escape in September, and it was just the type of relaxing, secluded, peaceful getaway that we were looking for!! The cabin was very clean and well-maintained, and it was private and set apart from the nearby cabins/neighbors. The views from the patio were absolutely stunning, and were different each and every day! We enjoyed beautiful sunrises, colorful sunsets, totally clear days where you could see for miles, and days with clouds rolling in over the mountains in the distance. Howard was a complete pleasure to work with and took care of every detail to ensure that it was a smooth and relaxing experience. I would highly recommend The Great Escape, and we definitely plan to return in the future!
