Extremely clean and well taken care of home! Beautiful outdoor space to enjoy both day and night. The owners were fantastic and communicated immediately to every email and/or text.
Great!
Overall we had a nice stay. The property was very clean and situated close to many of the popular up north towns. Sits on a pretty part of the river and has everything you need for your stay. A few things not mentioned is that in the summer there are a lot of kayakers going by because there is a pick up and drop off at the edge of the property. It probably won’t bother most people, but I was looking for a quiet getaway. Sitting out by the river was not quiet as people kept going by and saying hi and commenting on how much they liked my house. Another thing that was not mentioned and upset my stay was there no use of the closet in the master bedroom. It was locked. I like to unpack when I arrive and hang up my clothes. The option that was given to me when I contacted the owner was to use the closet at the bottom of the stairs where the vacuums are stored. There was room in there, but who wants to go up and down the stairs every time they are getting dressed. It irritated me everyday. Having access to the closet would have gotten the 5th star.
This is a fantastic getaway located on a secluded bend of the Sturgeon River. Easy access to great restaurants, beautiful lakes, and endless amazing scenery. Would highly recommend this beautiful cabin to anyone!!
We've been coming to the area for awhile. This was the place most applicable to what we do, boat and trout fish. This awesome spot covers the bases, and relatively secluded and private. Well-kept and very clean. Thank you for sharing your home with us.
Everything was wonderful
We really enjoyed our time here. The cabin was exceptionally clean and well equipped. The beds were comfortable and the fireplace and jetted tub a huge bonus with the cold, wet weather we had during some of the days we stayed. The location right on the river is excellent. We would stay here again.
Property was clean and as described. Great location on Sturgeon River.
Update pictures or let others know you have lawn chairs available. Another fire extinguisher and location of them should be noted. Other than that this place is cozy and quiet.
From planning our trip, to arrival, and through our stay, communication was great. The place was very clean! My husband and I went for our anniversary trip and we couldn’t have asked for more. Petoskey is 30min, mackinaw is 30min. Fished on Burt Lake (min down the road) and Mullet Lake (25min). We had everything we needed at the cabin and it was super comfortable! Definitely would recommend and stay again!
Comfortable home on a beautiful piece of property on Sturgeon River. Fun kayaking location. Enjoyed campfires by river. Owners are great communicators
This cabin offered comfort next to the beautiful Sturgeon River. The sound of the river flowing past the fire pit was so relaxing. If you want some adventure launch your kayak from the backyard. My family and I were able to have so many adventures while using this property as our home-base. -Petosky Beach -International Dark Park -Mackinaw City -Kayaking in the Sturgeon River, Burt Lake and Lake Michigan -Putt-putt in Petosky -Tahquamenon Falls -Whitefish Point -Glassbottom Shipwreck tour/snorkeling in Lake Huron (yes, it was cold) -Sleep Bear Dunes National Park The property owner, Rich, was extremely helpful. He answered all my questions promptly. I appreciated that he took time to give me suggestions on activities and restaurants in the area. We had an amazing time discovering Michigan. This property allowed us to relax and refresh between our adventures. I really hope I can return.
The home was very clean with an excellent view of the river. Very spacious allowing plenty of room to spread out. We built a fire in the fire pit most every night and enjoyed listening to the river pass by.. Very convenient location to the UP, Mackinaw City and Mackinac Island, which we visited all 3. We will definitely book again on our next visit to upper MI..
We LOVED staying at the cabin. It was very relaxing, everything you can think of was provided (a very neat and organized home) we definitely felt at home for the week. Everything was super clean upon our arrival. Anytime we thought of something we needed, it was there! My mother-in-law, son and my grandson came along with us and we enjoyed the beautiful river, sitting by the fire making s’mores, fishing, playing in the river, going on walks down the nearby trails, hanging out together watching a movie, sitting on the patio, playing a board game, or an evening match of pool. Honestly an amazing getaway, great memories were made. We would LOVE to come back soon. One day we drove 30 minutes to Petoskey Beach and collected Petoskey stones and beautiful colored rocks. Another day we drove about 35 minutes to the Mackinac Bridge and Mackinac City for shopping, coffee, and fudge. Another day we drove less than 10 minutes away and had dinner at the Thirsty Sturgeon, all food was terrific! Then we went in town for awesome ice cream. We have not stopped talking about the week. I personally loved sitting inside or outside and just watching/listening to the beautiful river flow. Rich and Lori have been wonderful throughout. Regardless of questions we had, they have been so quick to respond and very helpful. You can rest assured if you stay here, you will be able to relax and enjoy your get-away.
