Storybrooks Cabin - Meredith Lodging

A stream runs through it. And another wraps around it at Storybrooks Cabin in Rhododendron. Kitchen Creek flows merrily below your feet as you drink your morning coffee at the breakfast table or sip a glass of wine in the afternoon on the front or back deck. Inside are traditional Steiner Cabin details like the carved staircase banister, chinked log walls and the classic river rock fireplace perfect for a cozy family retreat or romantic getaway. >
You begin your visit to Storybrooks Cabin crossing the footbridge over Hackett Creek. We have provided a little red wagon for you to carry your things to the cabin. The front door invites you into the kitchen with the original antique wood cook stove plus modern appliances. Gather in the living room with lots of sunny view windows and the river rock fireplace with a new woodstove insert. Head out the back door to relax listening to birdsong next to the creek as you bask in rays on the sunny side of the mountains. You can grill dinner on the gas BBQ on the back deck.

The first bedroom downstairs includes a queen bed and bunk beds for one family. The full bathroom is next door with a walk-in shower and a stacked full-size washer and dryer. Head upstairs for 2 more bedrooms for a second family. The main bedroom includes a queen bed and the 2nd upstairs bedroom is perfect for the kids with two twin beds.

Storybrooks Cabin has easy, year-round access to hiking, biking, skiing and restaurants throughout the Villages of Mt Hood. You will be just a couple of miles to the famous Sandy Ridge Mountain Bike Trails and the Barlow Wayside hiking trails. Your mature dog is welcome to join you at Storybrooks Cabin.

Such a gem, definitly didn't want to leave. If you want to sit in nature listening to the babbling of water this is the place for you. So relaxing and serene. Hope I can visit again.

This cabin is very clean and comfortable. The setting is a fairy tale cabin in the woods with gorgeous streams surrounding it.

Overall had a nice time but the cleanliness of the property was substandard. Coffee pot had old moldy coffee grounds. The coffee pot needed to be thoroughly cleaned before use. Baking sheets were greasy and needed to be cleaned before us. There were dead ants and stink bugs in several rooms along the perimeter. There was dust present on surfaces. The coffee table had items including a pink pill under it. There was a garbage can at the road but no bungee or screws available per instruction.

It is absolutely beautiful. Needs more blanket options (some lighter blankets). The creek is beautiful. Love the old stove in the kitchen. We had a good stay.

When taking out the garbage it was discovered that not only was there old food waste in both containers but an overwhelming amount of mice droppings and a strong odor of mice urine. Upon further inspection of the home, we found mice droppings in the corners of the living room and dining area. We are extremely disappointed and upset in the lack of cleanliness in the home. Given that the home did not meet the cleaning procedures and policies outlined not only by VRBO but Meredith Lodging pages as well we reached out with our concerns. We were told that the property management company would reach back out within 5-7 business days. It's now been 12 days without any follow up. Extremely disappointed.

We loved staying at this location. Plenty of room, very unique setting, perfect location to get to Mount Hood, plenty of amenities in the home (e.g. cookware, etc.), and comfortable den with fire stove. This was a nice ending to long days on slopes. The creek running through the property was amazing especially views from kitchen and the built-in sound machine for the 2nd story bedroom. If there is anything constructive I'd say it would be that the kitchen sink faucet was partially broken and only sprayed and the shower faucet leaked causing the pressure to be lower. So maybe a short visit from the plumber. Also, something that reduces the slipperiness of the 2nd floor stairs would be a great add. These however didn't really affect our trip on the whole and would not deter me from staying again. Thanks!

This is probably one of the best places I have stayed at with Vrbo. The view of the creek from the kitchen window is so beautiful, along with the rest of the features of the cabin. Just down the road a piece is the Steiner Church - you must take a look at it if you stay at this cabin.

It was great. This is a very sweet classic historical log cabin by a constant flowing creek with a nice deck, and great room. We were one couple and two adults so there was a bedroom for everyone. We love to cook and used the nice BBQ. The location was fantastic. We went to Timberline, hiked Little ZigZag falls and floated Trillium Lake. We ate at SkyWay BBQ. Good WiFi because we have to have it. A Steiner Cabin made the experience feel very authentic Mt. Hood! Absolutely recommend.

Loved the coziness inside and out yet didn’t feel cramped or crowded. Great amount of space for my husband, myself and our two young adult kids. Our only let down was the awful mattress in the downstairs bedroom. The sleep you get makes a huge difference for the rest of your stay. I wish owners would provide beds that they themselves would sleep in.

We had a wonderful time exploring the Zigzag area from this relaxing little cabin. It was clean and we had everything that we needed. The sound of the creek and birds is very relaxing after a day of adventuring.

The property location was beautiful. So peaceful. Close to Timberline lodge. The stairs are kinda steep going up to the second floor. Very hot in the upper level. We had a small problem while here, but it was handled great.
