The privacy and location off the beaten path. Great!!
This cabin right on the lake with all its knotty pine interior was exactly what we were looking for.
Cabin was relaxing and important to spending some time with my son including fishing Sturgeon Bay.
A clean and cozy cabin! Good location to take off from for daily trips around Door County. Enjoyed fires at night next to the water and grilled out on the Weber charcoal grill. An enjoyable time!
The cabin was exceptionally clean. Everything we needed was there. We didn’t really cook there but a full sized refrigerator was nice for drinks, snacks, leftovers and purchases. The beds were comfortable. The property was perfect. We had 4 adults and had plenty of room. Thank you for such a nice place to stay.
We loved the location- right on the water with a great deck to watch the sunsets.
Stony Shore was an absolutely beautiful spot to enjoy our family vacation with our best friends and our children! Gorgeous views and we loved playing games and having dinner out on the screened in porch. WiFi connection was always decent so the kids could enjoy a movie at wind-down time, and we were able to cook full meals in the kitchen with dishes and utensils provided by the hosts. We would definitely consider staying here again!
2 adults and 4 kids comfortable (2 BR with queens, plus a futon in FR), room to play and relax, plus a great screen porch. Basic but clean and comfortable, private. Nice yard including a fire pit and lake view deck, shore is fine for kids' supervised exploring (not sure about swimming) - but a nice large sand beach a couple miles toward Egg Harbor is great.
We enjoyed the property, especially being so close to the water to listen to the waves.
We loved our stay. The location was perfect for us—quieter than being right in the thick of things, but still easily accessible to the whole peninsula. Also, being right on the water was amazing! We got great use of the screened porch, deck right on the water, and the lovely yard with nice charcoal grill and fire pit. The cabin is small, but incredibly clean, and worked great for us! Highly recommend for a couple or small family. It was also perfect for our two small dogs as well.
We celebrated our first anniversary here and it was a perfect, cozy, get away spot for the two of us!
Very restful and lovely place
Our second stay at Stony Shore Cabin (and our first autumn visit) proved to be just as great as our first. This visit we explored the northern portion of Door County (Egg Harbor, Fish Creek, Ephraim, Sister Bay and Bailey’s Harbor). Evening fires in the fire pit were followed by fantastic sunsets sitting overlooking the bay. The blustery weather made the cabin all the more cozy. Loved it!
Enjoyed hearing the waves with this cabin not far from the waterfront. Pictures are representative of the property. We appreciated the property manager's communication.
I was surprised by this little cabin and it was a great place to get away for a bit. It's right on a rock beach which was great to sit on and watch the water. The backyard was the perfect size for grilling out and watching the sunset. My only complaint was that there is plastic mesh in the yard from laying sod/grass seed that is very easy to trip on.
Review photos carefully. Lake really cannot be seen from cabin. It dark and airless, non-functional kitchen. Lower cupboards crammed with pots and many plastic blowls that spillout when opened. The one and only open cupboard for our food was inaccessible. Utensils need to be replaced, most are from Dollar Store. No counter space. Only real dining option was on the porch, that was crammed with mish mash of furniture. The picnic table shown is uneven and bench seat very low. The deck near the lake has two adirondack chairs, a long bench. The guard rail is at such a height that when you are seated on the deck you cannot see the sunset, the horizon or much of the lake at all. You can stand and watch the lake, or peer between slats. Rocky beach, (we knew) not really walkable due to the seagrass making stones slipperly. You can enjoy the sunset from the beach if you want to sit on rocks. Billed as Grandmas Cabin, but I think grandma has been gone a long, long time.
We loved the rustic cabin and its proximity to the lake and water. The location, being north of Sturgeon Bay, got us closer to all things on the peninsula. The cabin was well stocked, clean and a fun place to stay. We could not find a toaster and the yard guy started mowing at 7:30 am but most of us were awake and it was no problem. We would definitely stay again. Thanks for everything.
Good
If you're looking for a cozy, charming cabin this is it. We truly enjoy ourselves here. The views are amazing here. Loved watching the sunset ever night from our private deck right on the water:)
We enjoyed a wonderful 3-night stay in early July with our two kids and dog. The cottage was very well maintained and very clean upon arrival. All as advertised. We loved the location right on the water—waking up to the sound of waves and lots of time spent down on the stony shoreline, and of course, great sunsets. Great location for traversing all across the peninsula. We’ll be back!
Overall we really enjoyed our stay. The location is excellent. It is very easy to get around while at the same time not in the thick of things. The cabin was just like walking back in time and was very clean. The views are amazing and we found it very relaxing. The only things keeping this property from being 5 stars are the beds and towels. The beds were a bit too old and hard for our liking. The mattress protector was a bit too thin and you could feel the groves in the bed. We would recommend that the property owner either use a thicker pad or use a foam topper. Also, there weren't enough towels for our stay. We had three people staying only received four towels for the three nights. With the heat of summer we could have used another set of towels for the number of showers you need to take.
