Spacious Cabin With Fantastic Long Range Mountain and Lake Views - Lake Lure - The Overlook

Beautiful cabin above LakeLure. Gravel road a little scary. Bore bees are really eating outside rails and wood. Hopefully they can do something to stop them.

Let me start by saying the house design and view is lovely, but when we walked into the house, we noticed dead red and black bugs everywhere!! I spent the first hour or my time in the house sweeping and dusting dead bugs off the furniture, window seals and floor before my grandchildren arrived. I called the property company immediately and was told sorry, it's a shame you didn't notice the view first. We continued to see an occasional live bug throughout our stay. There were also large quantities of dead bugs in all of the hanging light fixtures. Obviously this house had not been booked or cleaned recently. At the end of our stay, I called the property team again and shared the full extent of the bug infestation. They did not offer any compensation for a sub-par home where I had to clean as soon as I walked in. They did let me know they would put a note in the file. It is a lovely designed home and the view is great, but if this is how it is being cared for and presented to renters, I would recommend others to STAY AWAY or BE PREPARED TO CLEAN ON ARRIVAL.

Amazing property…amazing views….amazing memories! However, the drive up the mountain road did cause some anxiety!

Beautiful view of mountains at sunset and coffee in the morning on the porch! What more could you ask for? The house was wonderful and downstairs was a big plus with everyone. S'mores around the firepit added to a truly wonderful experience. Lake Lure is a must for mountain lovers and this house only makes it better. Coldwell Banker King is super to work with. Questions asked were quickly answered.

This is a beautiful house with some of the best views you can get around the Lake Lure and Chimney Rock area. Plenty of space and privacy up at the house. Wifi isn't great and neither is cellular signal, but other than that it's an amazing place!

The property is very nice. Beautiful views and knotty pine wood, comfortable beds, adequately equipped kitchen. Last mile of road is a bit treacherous.

The pictures don’t do justice to this beautiful home and the gorgeous mountain and lake views. Well appointed and comfortable home with plenty of room for everyone — including our pups! The road and parking are a little tricky but we were able to fit a full size car and truck. We’d like to come back in the summer to take advantage of the community amenities.

Our family enjoyed this cabin and the NC mountains. Hiking was great, the cabin had plenty of room for 8 people. The only 2 complaints we had was having to carry the trash off site, for what we paid for the property this should be taken care of (although it would not stop us from staying there) We even dealt with the tight parking. The one thing that would stop us from renting again was the water issue. Eight people can not take showers daily. One person could take a shower with very little pressure and after about 3 minutes the hot water was gone. Same with washing dishes. We tried the instructions the property manager gave us with no success. We have a endless water heater and it never runs out. Needless to say thank goodness it was a camping trip and we love each other because showers were pretty much non-existent. Sad to say we would not rent again.

Efficient process.

The cabin is perfectly located for incredible views of Lake Lure and the mountains. Perfect place to enjoy peace and quite. And great location if you don’t want your teens in devices the entire time as the internet signal isn’t perfect. But that is what made it perfect!
