APPLE MAPS IS WRONG!!!! Aaaaaaah Please don’t knock on Russ’s door!!!!!! Don’t drive into Russ’s Driveway either! Or he will flip the F out !! His house is before ours on the left and he has 2 precious driveways that he obsesses over all winter. Make sure you are at the cabin that matches the PICTURES!! It’s the steep green metal roofed cabin on the INSIDE of the street corner

We strive to meet expectations. Our cabin is small, but clean and cozy. More than 6 people is simply not allowed for the enjoyment of all. It is a QUIET tranquil neighborhood and the direct adjacent neighbors are retired full time residents. They are accustomed to the QUIET. I wish I did not have to say this, but in our experience, we have to very specifically request NO LOUD MUSIC, keep conversation polite, super quiet, especially outside. I cannot emphasize this enough.. disturbing the peace of the neighborhood by loud conversation from the hottub will result in a phone call to me first, and the police if it is after quiet hours. Please be respectful of the neighbors, do not disturb them with ANY loud late night activities. We have good relationships with our neighbors and we would like to keep it that way. I re-emphasize the direct neighbors (Russ specifically) enjoy library like quiet… there is no other option to them. (Him)
No Pets. Dogs are not allowed in Big Cottonwood Canyon due to watershed code regulations.

4 WHEEL DRIVE with M&S rated tires and or chains is legally required in the Town of Brighton. Radial tires are not approved for traveling in the Cottonwood Canyons during a snowstorm. Make sure you check your vehicle tires before departing the rental car company. They must be M&S rated or you must have access to chains. Don’t gamble with a 2 wheel drive. You will not make it to the house with 2 wheel drive. Getting stuck happens occasionally and we need to be informed immediately to quickly arrange help. Blocking the road will be observed by the neighbors and a few will instantly lodge a nuisance complaint for a renter that gets their vehicle stuck. If the roadway is blocked a $650.00 fine can be issued. Some locals have virtually zero tolerance for renter’s causing any inconvenience even if it’s not intentional, such as a stuck vehicle and or roadway being blocked .
***CAUTION!*** Parking at the cabin is a very very important issue. There are 2 locations to park.. access to the upper parking area in the winter can become EXTREMELY TREACHEROUS, but the upper area is flat and close to the entry. By parking in the lower area you can avoid having to navigate the Treacherous Ice corner to the upper lot.. but the lower parking spot is sloped and in bad weather your vehicle can slide out of the driveway and out into the roadway.. also from the lower parking spot you will have to schlep you luggage up the stairs.. so pick your poison .. We recommend guests to first park in the lower spot BEFORE THE 90degree UPHILL TURN and then physically get out and walk the corner BEFORE YOU TRY TO DRIVE up the corner… If you can’t walk it due to ice, I suggest NOT driving it. You must be 100% confident in your ability and experience to navigate a vehicle on snow and ice BEFORE attempting to drive up around the corner to the upper lot. It can look to be fine but possibly be pure ice… Best to get out and quickly assess.. If you have never operated a vehicle on snow and ice you must alert me prior to arriving and we will attempt to assist you in some way. I realize getting out and walking up the corner to test for ice is problematic for multiple reasons including slipping and falling.. BUT getting your rented vehicle stuck in the snowbank is super easy if the weather is not good.. Getting the vehicle unstuck will require a minimum of digging snow if you’re lucky.. most likely a tow/tug at $150.00 cost and just a lot of aggravation that’s usually not worth it . . Now unfortunately the lower parking area is sloped and vehicles have slid right out into the street .. Only if it is crystal clear weather and you have 4wheel drive engaged should you even attempt to navigate to the upper parking. If you forget to engage 4wheel drive before attempting the corner you are virtually guaranteed to spinout and possibly get stuck. The lower parking space is on the left side immediately off the street and below the cabin BEFORE the sharp uphill corner.. PARK JUST BELOW THE CABIN FIRST!! I have a 4 wheel drive Forerunner with Studded Bizzaak tires and I still park in the lower space during snowstorms. There is a staircase from the lower parking area to walk up and around to the entrance.

Vaping is smoking. Smoking is not allowed. I really wish I did not have to state this, but if you vape or smoke inside the cabin we will be forced to end the reservation and charge significantly for necessary additional cleaning.

This is NOT a party house or neighborhood. I wish I did not have to state this. Brighton has a definitive local population that HATES SHORT TERM RENTALS AND ALL SHORT TERM RENTERS. You don’t need to be alarmed just please be careful and aware our 2 direct neighbors are not interested in loud music, noise and other disturbances, in particular vehicles stuck blocking the road... This is an unfortunate situation. Russ next door and below the cabin is the one to be most sensitive about ANYTHING, and it’s mostly noise. .. We do try and have good relations with our immediate neighbors and we try to accommodate their concerns with full disclosure to our guests. We have not had to remove a guest for not following our policies. Please be respectful.

No dogs. DOGS ARE NOT ALLOWED IN BIG COTTONWOOD CANYON! $$$650.00 FINE

WiFi is only for LEGAL PURPOSES! DONT USE MY INTERNET FOR BIT TORRENT! We provide Wi-Fi at our moderate expense for the luxury of our guests. Be lawful and respectful, or don’t stay.

Owner was great about communicating. Great location you can hike or skin into Sollitude. We did to avoid drive and parking. Hot tub and place was great.

The cabin was great for our family of four. 3 minutes from Solitude. Andrew was very attentive and gave us great advice on planning our ski trip. The snow is no joke! You need 4 wheel drive and good tires or you won’t make it. Enjoy.

Loved our stay at the cabin. Beds were comfortable, big tv and couch and very clean. Getting to the cabin is no joke do not attempt to get to the cabin without 4wd and chains or snow tires. Walked to solitude both days of our stay…it was a tough walk but doable even with ski gear. 10/10 recommend staying here. Owner had great communication.

This cabin is so charming and wonderful, well done, cared for and super comfy. We stayed for three nights, loved being so close to the ski resorts, and a great retreat tucked into the snow. We loved it. Definitely need 4-wheel drive, proper tires and chains if you're coming in the winter. :) Hosts were wonderful and communicative.

From the start the kindness and giving from Andrew was absolutely amazing, he was very clear on everything from thermostats, entry lock, hot tub, taking care of his property in relation to his neighbors, etc... I don't know that I can say enough on how much and gratitude to him in relation to the memorable time i had with my daughter that stayed with me from enjoying the beautiful powder, his awesome cabin and just the openness and giving his place was to us. All I can end with from Bella and I is thank you. Thank you thank you
