Cache, Oklahoma
The Cheif Cabin portrays the life of the Great Comanche Chief Quanah Parker. His original Star House which is on the National Register of Historic Places is less than a mile away. The Lazy Buffalo has 13 individually themed Cabins. Each Cabin is uniquely decorated to capture the essence of the Wichita Mountains and the history of our hometown.
The Chief Cabin has two Queen Size beds and a walk-in tiled shower. Barn wood, knotty pine, and corrugated tin are used throughout the spacious cabin. Dark stained concrete floors and tin ceilings really add a rustic yet elegant vibe. The kitchenette area has a mini fridge and microwave along with table and chairs.
Binge the latest Netflix show from the comfy loveseat. Sip on a cup of coffee from the front porch. Watch as the sunsets on the plains, southwest Oklahoma Sunsets are truly amazing.
Picnics are a treat at the outdoor pavilion area complete with charcoal grill. When it gets dark, roast marshmallows at the fire pit or relax under the stars in the back of our vintage star gazing truck, located just a short walk from the cabin.
Both kids and adults will love tossing horseshoes, throwing Frisbees at disc golf, playing old fashion board games from the front porch, and creating music in nature at the interactive Music Wall. Don't forget to snap memories at our themed photo ops.
Because we get to host lots of hunters and fishermen, we wanted to provide these guests extra convenience by providing an outdoor fish and small game cleaning station which is located between our bunkhouse and cabins.
LOCATION:
We are located just three miles from the entrance to the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge. The Wildlife Refuge preserves 59,000 acres of mixed prairie grass, ancient mountains, lakes, and streams. We loved everything about this place. Our kids had a blast and there were lots of games to keep them entertained. The hospitality was exceptional and the cleanliness was superb! This place has a lot of charm and did not disappoint, we will be going back!
Cabin feel. The deposit amount and not knowing how it is refunded
Loved the rustic feel and charm to this place but need to seriously get mattresses. We did not sleep well and this was the reason. Other than that we loved it. Great place!
Had a great experience from booking all the way through spending a full week at this cabin while hunting owners are very prompt with getting back on questions and would definitely stay here again!!!!
Easy to get the rental set up. Great location next to the Refuge.
We usually camp within the refuge, but circumstances had us change our plans. What a pleasant find this was! Near everything we wanted to do, and lots of activities to do on the place during downtime. Oh! and hubby loved having a hot shower after the trails :)
This beat staying at a hotel! Cute cabin, clean, soft sheets, snacks and cold waters!!! I am so glad we chose to stay here. We also got to go out back and stargaze.
Our accommodations were just what we were looking for. The room was clean, comfortable, and location was perfect.
I loved the decor! The apartment was super clean and the beds were so comfortable. We only stayed one night, but would love to visit again and stay longer!
We stayed here so we could be at my sons graduation from the army, it was close enough to get to, and far away enough to be not in the middle of everything. The owners were so amazing and friendly. The decor was so fun and quirky that it was perfect! The refuge down the street was breathtaking. Overall if I had to recommend it I would a hundred percent !!
We had a great stay at the Lazy Buffalo! The sunrise and sunset were beautiful here. Very close to the national park.
Super cute little cabin will definitely be back for a another stay!
