The Iron Door Cabin is a tribute to a fabled treasure buried high in a cave in the Wichita Mountains. Belle Starr and her gang were said to have hidden a vast amounts of gold in a cave and covered the opening with an iron door from a railroad car. Sightings of the door stretch back over a hundred years. Will you find these legendary riches

Nestled at the foothills of the Wichita Mountains, The Lazy Buffalo has 13 individually themed cabins and a Bunkhouse. Each is uniquely decorated to capture the essence of the Wichita Mountains and the history of our hometown.

Many say that The Lazy Buffalo resembles an Old West Town. Our Cabins are similar to a classic motel layout. There are charming touches throughout the property along with modern offerings such as Wi-fi, Netflix, and the convenience of self check in.

The Iron Door Cabin has a spacious king size bed with a walk-in tiled shower. Barn wood, knotty pine, and corrugated tin are used throughout this spacious cabin. Dark stained concrete floors and tin ceilings really add a rustic yet elegant vibe. The kitchenette area has a mini fridge, microwave, k cup coffee maker, along with table and chairs. There is also a comfy loveseat.

During your stay, enjoy complimentary Netflix and Wi-Fi or unplug and take in the beauty of our area. Watch as the sunsets over the plains from the long covered front porch while lounging in the wooden rockers. Southwest Oklahoma sunsets are truly worth witnessing.

Sip on a cup of coffee to get your morning started right and end your adventurous day gathered at the covered picnic area while enjoying smells from the charcoal grill. Yummy marshmallow goodness at the fire pit is a memorable way to cap off the evening or choose to relax under the stars in the back of our vintage star gazing truck, located just a short walk from the cabin.

Both kids and adults will love tossing horseshoes and playing old fashion games. Toss Frisbees at the disc golf stations, drop giant checkers to make a Connect 4, create music at our interactive music wall, or team up for some volleyball action. We are always adding new outdoor activities. Don't forget to snap some memories at The Lazy Buffalo photo ops.

We loved all the outdoor activities on the property. Very well thought out and everything provided to enjoy it. Julie was very responsive when we had a problem. The hail storm that night was scary with the metal roof but our cars were not damaged.

a VERY NICE place to stay! Everything you need is there. Close to the town of Cache and close to Medicine Park. My friends stayed there and their 1 bedroom was $250 a night 2 night minimum. We just wanted 1 night and it was only $125 and we got to drive through the wilderness area. They also have a fire pit and horse shoes. The room was EXTRA nice w/fridge, microwave, wifi, tv, and the bed was king size confortable. Yes, we are going again.

Loved the property and rustic room. Rocking chairs at sunset just great. Had trouble with TV but wasn’t there to watch TV. Julie tried to reach me but didn’t have my phone. My fault. Cashe doesn’t offer much food have to drive to Lawton

We really enjoyed our stay at The Lazy Buffalo. It made you feel like at home and had all the amenities plus a few extra that you may need. It is very close to the Wichita Wildlife Refuge which you should not miss! It’s far enough from business but close enough to where you may want to go.

My husband and I stayed at the Lazy Buffalo for our 2nd Anniversary. It was very clean and a unique place to stay. We stayed in the Iron Door Cabin and it has a unique story. Only 15 minutes from the Wichita Mountains and about 45 minutes from Chickasha. We saw the sunset on Mt Scott and the Festival of Lights in Chickasha.

This was the first place my significant other and I stayed nearly a year ago now after I was stationed at Sill, even now it feels so cozy and welcoming. The location is amazing, and actual property is great with amazing maintenance and lots to do including some games. If you want to make memories you need to stay here at least once.

The cabin is in a good location close to the Wichita Mountains and the city of Lawton. The host was responsive, but check-in instructions was given when the cabin was ready. Lots of room, comfy king size bed, and welcome snacks provided. Great for families, as there are games. Clean, but towels may need a little refresh. Overall good for the location.
