After an exhilarating day of pedaling the trails, kick off your shoes and re-energize in our Tour de Bison Cabin. Cycling decor will inspire you to explore the 26 miles of designated bike trails in the Wichita Mountains which offers unique wildlife watching opportunities. Will you pedal the 3 mile steep climb to the summit of Mount Scott
Nestled at the foothills of the Wichita Mountains, The Lazy Buffalo has 13 individually themed cabins. Each cabin is decorated to capture the essence of the Wichita Mountains and the history of our hometown. The Tour de Bison Cabin is part of our newest addition. This cabin is themed for the cycling lover. The Wichita Mountains is a great destination for biking. It offers riders up close wildlife viewing and provides incredible scenery. Check out the gigantic mural created by our daughter of a Bison riding a bicycle.
The Cabin has two queen size beds and a full bathroom with a large walk in tiled shower accented with glass blocks. Knotty pine and corrugated tin are used throughout the spacious cabin. Dark stained concrete floors and tin ceilings really add a rustic yet elegant touch.
The kitchenette area has a mini fridge and microwave along with table and chairs. Sip on a cup of coffee from the front porch or have a picnic in our outdoor pavilion area complete with charcoal Grill.
When it gets dark, roast marshmallows at the outdoor fire pit or relax under the stars in the back of our vintage star gazing truck, located just a short walk from the cabin.
Both kids and adults will love tossing horseshoes, throwing Frisbees at disc golf, playing old fashion board games from the front porch, and creating music in nature at the interactive Music Wall. Don't forget to snap memories at our themed photo ops.
For our hunting and fishing guests, we provide an outdoor fish and small game cleaning station located between our bunkhouse and cabins.
LOCATION:
We are located just three miles from the entrance to the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge. The Wildlife Refuge preserves 59,000 acres of mixed prairie grass, ancient mountains, lakes, and streams. Herds of bison, longhorn, and elk can be seen roaming free and there's endless recreations opportunities such as fishing, bird watching, mountain biking, hiking, rock climbing, and kayaking. A paved bike lane joins the property and runs throughout the Wildlife Refuge. At less than a mile from the original Quanah Parker’s Star House and minutes from Lawton Fort Sill and historic Medicine Park, there's plenty to see and do nearby.

Loved this place!!! Will definitely be going back
Great place to stay. Loved the fun and creative decor. Bed was very comfortable. We would definitely stay here again.
A good time The place was a lot of fun and located in a good spot for everything that we wanted to do We enjoyed our time
Very enjoyable stay. Pristinely clean and comfortable. Perfect for enjoying the weekend in the Wichita mountain refuge area. Would definitely stay here again.
This was our second stay at The Lazy Buffalo. The themed rooms are clean and inviting. The Tour de Bison cabin has a slight odor- probably the bicycle tires! Very fun room. There is a small refrigerator, with cold water. A coffee maker and pods. Snacks, disposable plates and utensils. The beds are quite comfortable.
I love this place! I would love come back and rent out the whole motel. Everywhere you look for special touches that made you feel like they were so glad you were there. They really outdid themselves with what was provided, the decorations, cleanliness, and price. I just couldn’t be happier with the place will definitely be back.
Perfect location to access Wichita Mountains! Cabins are about the size of a hotel room which was great! Beds were comfy, bathroom was nice, and owner was accommodating. Wish the room had better air fresheners and thicker toilet paper but otherwise no complaints. 5/5 would stay again!
Great
We had a great time. All staff was fantastic!
We LOVED our stay!!! My 8 year old had so much fun playing corn hole and the ring game. Thanks so much!!!
This property provided everything I needed and wanted
Check in was easy, very clean, good beds.
We loved this place! Everything about it was perfect. It was very clean and the decor in the Tour de Bison was super cute! Another thing we loved was the checkout process. We have stayed in places with a long list of things we had to do/clean before we left. This checkout list was short and only had things such as turning the lights off, putting trash in trashcan, etc. The communication with the host was easy and she always responded in a timely manner. We didn't have any problems with our stay. We would definitely stay here again and will suggest this to friends and family!
This is the most peaceful little spot. The new cabin is just as comfortable as the other ones! Need a place to relax? Choose the Lazy Buffalo!
