Plenty of space and a beautiful spot to hang out near the Lake. Only downsides were we had a hard time getting heat to one room, and the cable didn’t work which meant no college football. Overall I would recommend!
This place was great! We stayed for a weekend for the Ironman with our family and it was perfect! We loved the hot tub, views, and fire pit on the beach!
Beautiful setting on Long Lake, terrific location close to beautiful beaches and Sleeping Bear, spacious yet cozy house with room to gather as well as spread out. We enjoyed the deck, the hot tub, and the dock.
Enjoyed the beautiful, quiet lake, enjoyed the sauna, nights by the fire pit were amazing. Kitchen was very well stocked. The area has a lot of activities.
Steep driveway which wasn't plowed and some couldn't use it at all the first day. In winter this is a primary issue We hand shoveled it with difficulty for whch we should be compensated, and were therefore able to access it the second and third day.
Lovely peaceful home that worked perfect for 7 of us on a work retreat. The lake view off the deck was beautiful. There were plenty of dishes and a variety of spices to use as well as plenty of towels! The hot tub was a nice feature and even though we didn’t use the sauna it looked amazing. Rhonda was a great host and very quick to respond to anything we needed.
Overall the house and location were great for three families with kids 7-14 to stay together. Being right on the lake was nice and having the jacuzzi and canoe and kayak and paddle boat access was fun for the kids, especially since the lake was very shallow and had a mushy bottom. The house is well stocked with linens, kitchen utensils and appliances and sleeping options. The house stayed cool at night and was clean. There are some quirks to the house: no bathroom in the above garage bedroom which also has a steep staircase to get to, some bedrooms don’t have doors or window blinds, the light switches are many and not always clear which one controls what, and separate front and back staircases to get to different parts of the house. Would recommend and would stay here again but would’ve benefited from a floor plan of all three floors to be added to the listing so we could’ve better planned our sleeping arrangements.
The place was amazing and Ronda was awesome. Great communication. Everything was perfect.
This very functional cabin in the woods is an ideal spot for a multi-generational family vacation. The Golden Pond aesthetic is pleasing to the older folks, and the experience is enhanced by the younger generations happily learning how to canoe and kayak in a very safe environment. For more adventures, beautiful hiking and biking trails are nearby, as are public access Lake Michigan beaches and the awe inspiring Sleeping Bear dunes. Do yourself a favor and skip Myrtle Beach next year.
Beautiful layout of the house. Lake is nice but really shallow. Decking needs stain. Floors weren’t that clean. Entryway needs a cleaner darker rug, it’s the first impression upon entry. The area has so many attractions, we kept very busy every day. The comforters need to part of cleaning regimen.
