Secluded Waterfront Get Away on Smith Mountain Lake

We enjoyed our stay at the cabin. It’s perfect for a small family. Very clean home, quiet neighborhood. Almost feels like a gated community neighborhood. Fully stocked kitchen (there were a few things we forgot to bring and they had it there which was so convenient). Many hours were spent on the deck, loved that it has an umbrella for shade, spacious and lovely views. Enjoyed the boat dock. Only issue was that the power at the boat dock was not working. We reached out via email because we didn’t feel it an emergency to use the emergency contact line but we never got a response.we had to unfortunately carry a heavy battery upstairs to charge the boat battery. We will be buying a portable one for now on. We wouldn’t come back ONLY because the location didn’t suite our needs, a little too far from places. And I’ll never book a place without a washer and dryer again. (Learned a lesson there). However if you’re wanting peace, quiet, seclusion and awesome neighbors, this is the place for you!!

Never stayed were you had to provide your own sheets towels washcloths that was ridiculous. We did not receive the information until we arrived at the cabin but I have to say the owner did step up and provide us access to where sheets and towels were.

This was our third trip to this wonderful cabin on Smith Mountain Lake. We love the location in a quiet no wake Cove with beautiful clear deep water. The floating boat dock was great!! The house is perfect for a small family. We hope to be back again next year.

We had a lovely time in the property. Just very cozy and thoughtful set up. The furniture was updated and comfortable. The views were outstanding and the floating dock was a delightful touch. They had great chairs for star gazing. It was so peaceful and quiet. Got to see some wildlife too. It was beautiful.

Overall a pretty nice cabin. We were there for a few days of fishing with 2 trailered bass boats. There was ample parking at the overflow lot but no place to charge batteries for the trolling motor or electronics on the boat. Batteries died about half way into our second day of fishing so we had to completely remove batteries and charger from the boat and take them to the cabin to charge. Would be nice if there was a charging station at the overflow lot.

Great little cabin & reasonably priced. Fished off the dock, layer in the cove, slept well at night.

The perfect place for a quiet lake stay. With a dock, you can rent or bring a boat for fishing or just enjoying the water. Even though we were there a little early in the season, there were plenty of things to do and restaurants, etc. And the best part of the whole trip was sitting on the deck with a coffee in the morning as the sun came up. And the property owner was great to deal with!

We love the peaceful serenity of the cabin above the lake! There were some nice hiking trails in the nearby state park.

Place was a gem! Nice and quiet, time was so slow. Wife and I enjoyed fishing with a charter and just relaxing on the deck. Perfect fall day! Picture was off the deck overlooking the tree line, Sunday morning waiting for coffee to brew

Beautiful location and cabin. Very clean and well-appointed and the owner was very accommodating and responsive. My only reservation is that the neighboring properties are a little close. Would definitely stay there again, regardless.

Perfect weekend getaway - the porch overlooking the lake was so peaceful and where I spent most of my time with the pups. Easy access to fish (and put in a kayak if we had brought it).

We had an amazing stay at this cabin at SML. The private dock was a huge bonus. We spent so much time swimming and relaxing on the deck. Will definitely be returning!

Great place for a getaway nice clean little cabin

This is a beautiful and serene property! Loved the private dock and the gorgeous lake view. The only thing that was less than ideal was the oven - it kept turning off and took a long time to cook our food. Perfect stay otherwise !

The house was perfect for myself, my husband and our two dogs! The view of the lake and the dock made our trip. We rented a boat and tied it up to the floating dock when needed. Highly recommend and will possibly book again!

Very nice time at smith mountain lake. We did have some communication issues with me not receiving check in instructions but within minutes of reaching out Susan responded to me. With me not reviewing the check in instructions I did not know we had to bring our own linens, but Susan quickly accommodated us which we were extremely grateful for. Overall a wonderful time

Love it will be back

Our first time at SML did not disappoint. Cabin was comfortable for the 3 of us and our pup. It was clean and the kitchen had everything we needed to make meals and enjoy them on the deck. We spent a lot of time at the dock/floating dock relaxing, reading, swimming (yes it was cold!!), and soaking in the sun. We brought our canoe and paddleboard and the quiet no wake cove was perfect for paddling and exploring. A great place to unwind and get away from it all. Two things to note: bring sheets and towels and need to take the trash to the convenience center (about 7 mins away). Neither one affected the quality of our stay. Definitely recommend and looking forward to visiting again.

A cozy place right on the Smith Mountain Lake. Well stocked and easy access. Amazing views and very peaceful. Close proximity to hiking spots and not far from Lynchburg and Roanoke. We hope to be back.

Very cozy cabin! The kitchen has everything you could need. Suggestions are some room for food and repair of the front screen door. It doesn’t latch. Also the sliding glass door doesn’t lock. Thanks for putting the covers on the sofa! Great idea!! We also had an issue with stink bugs -maybe seasonal ??

The cabin had everything you could need. The decor is quaint and neatly appointed. The queen bed is incredibly comfortable. The neighborhood is peaceful, quiet, and relaxing. We spent all day on the back deck marveling at the view of the lake and mountains. Gorgeous.

The cabin was perfect for my husband, our dog and I. It had everything we needed. The area was breathtaking! We couldn't have asked for a better spot. It was quiet and the views were amazing. This was our first time at SML and we are so glad we visited. We hope to be back next year with my husband's kids and their spouses for a family vacation. If you are looking for a quiet getaway with spectacular views of the lake and the mountains, this cabin is perfect!

Nice, quiet cove with limited boat traffic in a no wake zone which is great for kayaks, paddle board, or when tying up a boat. The cabin is comfortable with exclusive access to a floating dock. There is a parking area to park a truck and trailer, though it’s not directly in front of the house. Overall a comfy cabin in a quiet part of the lake.

We had a wonderful stay at this cabin! It was incredibly clean and had everything we needed to enjoy a relaxing and comfortable time. The amenities were well thought out, and the cozy atmosphere made us feel right at home. We loved the peaceful surroundings and can't wait to come back again. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a perfect getaway!
